Won't own up to mistakes

My cat was on a subscription autorenewal for medicated food. For the first few months, things were fine. My vet clinic permanently closed on December 31st, 2025, with little warning and I received no update from my vet about this update.

Despite this, Vetcove continued to send my monthly food shipments for January, February, and March. Now that we're near the end of March, I went to make sure April's order was still on track, and I was surprised to learn I couldn't login, and when I tried to reset my password, I was told, "An Account Doesn't Exist" for that email.

I tried to reach out to my vet, only to discover for the first time, on March 18th, that they were closed. Vetcove continuing to send me the food gave me no reason to think anything was wrong. Vetcove never sent me a notification that the prescription was cancelled when the account was closed. They didn't even alert me that the account was closed.

My cat is almost out of food - medicated food - and my schedule is as such that it will take me a while to find a new vet and take him in to schedule care. I called Vetcove, twice, asking if we could do a one-time shipment of the food to bridge the gap between establishing care with a new vet, but they told me they couldn't find my account with my name or my cat's name. They said they had records, but they have safety protocols for other clients that prevents them from looking any further. They couldn't take my shipping address or any other clearly identifiable feature to locate my account.

They DID say that they could look into this if I provided them with an order number of a previous order. But because I received my previous orders, I deleted those email to keep my inbox clean. She said that I could log into my account to find the order numbers, but they cancelled my account when the vet clinic closed. I kept asking why I got three months' worth of shipments if the vet clinic closed in 2025, and the said, "they couldn't tell me without an order number."

I know this food is prescription and they need to be careful how they send it out. But THEY were the ones who kept sending me food, so I had no reason to think anything was wrong. They then blamed me for not saving my emails with the order numbers.

So now, I have to take time off of work to try and find a new vet, and I live in a city so many of them have long wait times to make new appointments, to try and get his medicated food in a hurry.

I just feel like there's no empathy for something that was clearly wrong on their side. At least, very minimal willingness to help, given my cat really did nothing wrong in this whole situation.

Failed autoship, no refund

I had autoship for my dogs medication. I moved, and prior to moving I updated my address on their web page. When my dog's next medication was due, I did not receive it. I called, and they shipped it to the old address (over 2 hours away). Apparently, I had to update my address in 2 locations on their web page, but nowhere did it say this. They also refused to send a new shipment or credit me for the almost $100 I paid for the misdelivered medicine.

The lies are outrageous and neverending

When ordering medicine for my cat’s asthma, it was immediately approved because I had an active prescription ready to go. After ordering, webpage said the order would be ready in 2-3 business days. After a week of the order sitting at approved, I reached out to support and was told it was day 1 of the 1-5 business days for shipping. So already there was a discrepancy. At 14 days after I placed my order with nothing being filled or shipped, I contacted them again. 2 hours later they cancelled my order and claimed someone from my vet’s office had called to cancel the prescription. This was a blatant lie, as the vet responsible for the prescription was not working that day and I went to the office in person to pick up more meds to fill in the gap caused by this company’s incompetence, and no one at the office has been made aware the order was cancelled. The following day my Vet’s office was finally able to get ahold of VetCove, who told them that I myself had called to cancel the order, claiming I told them my pet was dead and I already had a new pet named Gucci. My cat is alive and well, albeit a little worse for wear since she was without medication for a week and a half while I waited for this company to do their job. From the discrepancies at all stages of ordering, to the outright chronic lying, this company is absolutely not to be trusted and should not have business done with them.

Unreliable Autoship & Poor Customer Service - Avoid

I cannot recommend Vetcove, especially if you rely on them for medically necessary pet supplies.

We used their autoship service for dog food required for our pet's severe food allergies. The service was consistently unreliable with multiple late deliveries. In January 2026, they informed us they could not source our order and didn't know when they'd be able to ship it.

Because this was a medical necessity, we explicitly told them this was unacceptable and that we would source the food elsewhere. We did exactly that and carefully transitioned our dog to an alternative diet - a process that takes time and care with an allergic animal.

Three weeks later, the original order arrived without warning. We cannot use this food now as our dog has been successfully transitioned to a different diet, and switching back would be unsafe.

When we requested a refund, their support team (Joey and Mindy) refused, citing their "no returns" policy. They even questioned why we didn't cancel "the same day" - despite us telling them weeks earlier not to ship. They offered a $20 coupon as if this were a normal return situation.

This isn't a return - this is a company failing to deliver a time-sensitive medical product, admitting they couldn't fulfill it, then shipping it weeks late after we'd moved on. They're treating an operational failure as a customer policy issue.

If you need reliable delivery for your pet's health needs, look elsewhere. Vetcove's combination of unreliable service and inflexible customer support makes them unsuitable for anything your pet depends on.
