Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The vet was excellent...so helpful. I was very anxious & she calmed me down. She was lovely with my dogs & was very reassuring. The only fault was the time it took for someone to answer the phone....15 mins. It added to the anxiety.

Saw vets on the Sunday, dog had to be put down on the Tuesday 2 days sfterwards, no hints by the vets that this was going to happen.

We came as I had stood on our puppy’s paw and we were worried. We were in the surgery 7 minutes and there was nothing wrong with her we were charged £302 plus the vet was laughing saying ohhh is this your first baby making out we were over the top

I rang Middlesbrough branch on Good Friday as 2 dogs were running free on our nearby campsite - was given really good advice and they were willing to take the dogs. Dog warden services and local councils were rubbish. The owner of the dogs were eventually found so all was OK.

The vet and nurse on duty the night i rushed my 2 cocker spaniels in were fantastic. They were understanding, patient and very helpful. They kept me informed every step of the way and managed to keep me and the dogs calm throughout. Price was the main factor for not giving 5 stars but definitely give the staff a stars.

Good experience my dog was seen asap and was given a good check over and the necessary medication.. obviously because out of hours the cost to just be seen was high before medication, but that would be the same anywhere? The only thing missing was water in the waiting room for the animals was very hot in there.

I have no complaints whatsoever about the treatment received at Vets Now. Time was taken to explain our options and staff were very caring, compassionate and honest. We did not have to wait that long to be seen and the cost was as expected. The only thing I noticed, although did not need at the time myself, was that there is no toilet for public use. Considering the distance people have to travel, waiting time on busy days and the fact that some people, like myself, may suffer from IBS or other such ailments, I think that public facilities are a must. Other than that everything was fine.

I took my very poorly dog in on Sunday night just after midnight, the staff there were brilliant with him and with me too. Explained everything fully and in detail. The cost was explained too before any treatment was given. I received regular updates on how he was and I felt confident that he was in the best hands he could be. He had a bad night but made enough of a recovery to be transferred our vets the following morning and is now thankfully home safe and sound thanks to the team who cared for him so thoroughly! 5 stars is not enough. I will forever be grateful to all of them.

Model professionals from start to finish, despite us appearing when you could hopefully be sleeping off excesses on Christmas Day, Our dog was compassionately and skilfully cared for and we were seen very soon after arrival. Thanks you for your dedication and care. Happy New Year.

£305 just to take a look at our dog, £4 injection charged £35 and also a £35 admin fee that they also failed to do as our insurance had to chase them for relevant information. Absolute day light robbery of vets taking the pi## and over charging for basic pet care .

Our cat had to be taken in as an emergency to the Middlesbrough branch and, unfortunately, she had to be put to sleep. We decided to have her cremated and let them sort it out. We had to pay nearly £700.
I thought that was bad enough but to then wait nearly 3 weeks without any word. I was fuming. I rang to be told they had rang 10 days later but got no reply.
They had rang ONCE, left no message and then didn't bother again!! I was told it was due to staff shortages.
Poor service all round. I would never leave them with one of my pets again.

Very prefessional from start to finish explained everything and involved us at all times with decisions. Made Bobby and ourselves at ease. Couldn’t have asked from more caring sympathetic staff. Well done Vets Now.

We had to use Vets now, out of hours and in an Emergency. They were quick to diagnose, respond and treat my Dog. They were able to tell us the cost of the treatment up front, so that we could make an informed decision. The Vet and nurses were very caring and professional.
