I would have put no starting but there…

I would have put no stars but there was no option to do this so I had to go with 1star !!
We found 2 black hairs in our curry, we told the staff and manager and their response was ( No one in the kitchen has long hair ) we didn’t get much of an apology .. we were offered another dish but we declined.. another person in our party had an upset stomach through the night afterwards. All the dishes looked the same .. pickle trays were dirty and looked liked they had just refilled them from the last people , We will definitely not be returning!

Have been here a few times but on this…

Have been here a few times but on this occasion it was disappointing, found a hair on the poppadoms which they sorted quickly and gave us new ones so didn’t mind too much but then my partner got the wrong curry. He ordered a chicken korma and got a chicken curry… paid £73 for it all. Also the waiter, he came up to us and was slagging off customers and we thought this was unprofessional! The starters were lovely and the chicken vindaloo. But the service wasn’t up to standard tonight.

Second visit in recent weeks

Second visit in recent weeks. It just gets better. Probably the best Indian meal we have had anywhere. Chose not too hot meals. Everything was superb. Felt guilty never had cash on me to leave a tip and wasn't promoted to on card. Excellent thank you.

Viceroy Milford Stafford

Ordered a takeaway for delivery on 08.02.23, were told an hour so after around an hour and ten minutes I called just to check if it was on its way yet as we were all starving by this point 😀
We were told the driver was just leaving the restaurant, paid on arrival and took the food to the table to start unpacking. After opening everything, the two naan breads were burnt and luke warm, the onion Baha’i’s were also a little over cooked and also luke warm and the chips too. I took a photo of the back of the naan bread to show how burnt and crumbly it was and I called the restaurant to inform them of this. The person who answered the phone made the statement that he can’t quite believe how it was as cold as I was suggesting it was as apparently it had left the restaurant directly after it had been cooked. After a conversation about this I then stated that as I had called to inform them of this straight away the other items were now cold as I had been talking to him inform him and hadn’t been eating. He then wsaid well I’m not quite sure what you want me to do because to start off with it was 3 items (actually 4 as both the naan breads were burnt and luke warm) and now you are saying other things are cold. Which I had explained they were now cold because of calling the restaurant straight away. He offered to re-cook the cold items and send them straight away, which I declined as it was nearly 8.30pm and the items in question were to eat with everything else which would be cold by then. I asked for a refund, which was refused. He then kept offering to re-cook the order but as I had already said it’s too late now due to the time, we would re-heat said items and I wanted a refund. I have visited this restaurant and had deliveries from here in the past and was 100% happy with everything, the food was amazing and delicious, so it was our first choice when we decided on a take-away. I said this to him, that I wasn’t over exaggerating with how cold the food had arrived but was left feeling like I was just lying to get my money back which I wasn’t. In the end after realising I was not going to get any of my money back or even some kind of credit for our next visit or takeaway for what was a dreadful meal I ended the call. I am utterly disappointed as it had become our favourite place to go for Indian food, I will not be returning or ordering from them again as they clearly are not willing to accept when someone says something is not right, and you are left feeling like they believe you are lying.
Terrible customer service, normally great food but on this occasion was left feeling hugely disappointed.

Absolutely disgusting!!!!!

Absolutely disgusting!!!!!
We visited this what should be fine dining Indian restaurant. Our table was at 7:30 we waiting an age to be even asked what we wanted to drink then food it took an Hour & half for food to arrive.. no staff came over to say sorry about your wait or anything. If you asked them a question they just walked off. Food was NOT fine dining Indian I would say I could have enjoyed a microwave meal better quality. After many attempts to even get the bill we asked to speak to the manager when he came I kindly raised my issues with him only to be spoken to like filth and told to shhhh so he could speak he was leaning on the table getting very angry and being terribly rude and pretty much said that he didn’t care about any of what I had said that was wrong.

There were six tables around us to which we could hear all complaining so we wasn’t the only ones.

Wouldn’t come back absolutely shocking service from start to finish.

Very good Indian restaurant in Derby…

Very good Indian restaurant in Derby city centre, Midland Road. Attentive staff, good quality food (not cheap) and a nice environment. We even got the NHS discount and a voucher for next time.
