Great 1st experience...

Was frustrated with the $$ for daily charge + tolls using a rental car. How do tourist navigate with all the tolls especially in Orlando. Searched other options and found visitor toll pass. Called customer service to explain process so I understood exactly as I read it). Worked great! Made reservation, picked up at kiosk in MCO airport. Notified rental car both via phone & when picking up the car for them to turn off their transponder (VTP instructed & enter the plate# on the app). Returned the tag to the same kiosk at the airport. Invoice all correct. Great experience!!

Poor customer service- left out of pocket

Our rental company charged us for tolls despite toll pass saying they wouldn’t. They said they would resolve it for us but then asked us to get lots of information directly from the car company that cost us a lot in phone calls to the US. Then toll pass stopped answering emails so we were left out of pocket by quite a bit. I wouldn’t use again just because of the poor customer service when things go wrong. You are dealing with a company in the US so for UK visitors there’s already going to be problems if you need to contact them. And increasingly companies like Alamo, Sixt, Hertz ignore the toll pass and charge you anyway.

Florida toll Pass

I Have used it twice in one year and it saved me time and money . Beware the customer service is awful .
I would use it again rather than pay Avis rip off charges.

Very useful

Used this a few times now and no issues (apart from me leaving it in the rental car when returning!!).
It does save money and have had no issues whatsoever.

Waste of time

Waste of time, didn't pick up all the tolls but did some of them, so been charged by rental car company for the tolls plus a convenience fee and they've refused to refund due to a minor technicality, will just take a toll pass from rental company next time. Won't use again.

Think hard before getting VTP…

Please think carefully when getting a Florida Visitors Toll Pass . Arrived back from Orlando holiday Feb 25, paid VTP invoice, Happy chappy . Then out of the blue, two charges to my card from E-Toll, totalling $24. When comparing invoices from VTP and E-Toll, for some reason, three Tolls were not on VTP and charged by E-Toll + convenience charge.
VTP is a great idea, but doesn't seem to work in practice. Found out in chat groups, that this happens more often than not.
Paid more to Etoll for 3 missed tolls by VTP, than the whole 2 weeks tolls added together.
Definitely buyers remorse.

Totally useless

Followed all the instructions. Used on toll roads but never seemed to acknowledge it. Expecting multiple fines now. Customer service is awful - guess this is civil service at its worst. Don't bother with this as it does not work and no-one cares!

It appears easy and "cheap" until they continue charging your card after you've taken the hang tag out of the window.and never reply to your emails for help. I'm on the hook for over $60 in charges and less than half are actually mine. Warning: removing the hang tag does NOT stop the tolls in the rental and there is zero customer service.

What I thought was a good idea proved…

What I thought was a good idea proved to be not do. I was charged for toll fees that were incurred after I returned my rental car. I emailed copy of my rental agreement confirming this but the company did not refund me these charges. They completely ignored my request for refund. I live in uk and can’t follow up direct. Anyone using this service BEWARE

Worthless!

I activated my pass prior to leaving the rental car lot and received an email confirmation that my pass was active. A few days after I returned home, I received a "lane violation" bill saying that I did not pay a toll at one booth. What passes for "customer service" cannot fix their problem, so I was billed $14 ($4 toll and $10 "convenience fee") for what should have been an 86 cent toll.

My advice is to bring several rolls of quarters with you, then use the cash lanes.

Easy to use VTP toll card.

Used on recommendation from VisitorOrlando.com for family 2 week trip to Orlando. Picked the hanging card up from a booth near rental desks at MCO, hanged it from rear view mirror (doesn't matter which was round you hang it) and drove 600+ miles round Florida. Was kept updated by emails, make sure you enter vehicle registration at the start ! I could see by looking at the App what toll charges I was being charged. I had a reminder on last day to drop the item off at the Airport return bins, which you cannot miss seeing.

I now await final bill, which is offset from 10USD deposit taken on day1. I received a prompt response to an email query too. I imagine I may break even, or get back a few dollars. Either way a fuss free process that I will use again, and no doubt cheaper than using Rental Cars own toll cards.

Person at kiosk was more interested in…

Person at kiosk was more interested in her phone than helping customers figure this out. Didn't explain that this is not for one way rentals. I ended the trip early when I realized that I didn't need it while I was on a weeklong cruise & updated it on my phone however it 'wasn't updated in our system' and I was charged an extra $25 for a week while I was on the cruise. Customer service told me too bad, it's a self serve option and no refunds because they didn't do anything wrong, it was my fault. TERRIBLE customer experience. Will never recommend this to my worst enemy. You're welcome to whoever's tolls I paid that week.

East Toll Solution in Florida

Bit of hassle collecting the Toll Pass at Orlando. I went to where I was told the dispenser was, but eventually had to go to a difference check in departure area away from arrivals. After that though all was good. I was a little concerned at some tolls that I wasn't going through the correct lane as of course VisitorTollPass isn't mentioned on the overhead signs.
Pass just slips on rear view mirror, simple as that
On returning to the airport there was a returns box just after the car return area - got an email update / bill at the end of the duration

Could be better

The system works really well. Easy collection and use. I had to change rental car and the app was easy enough to change the toll plate. I even extended my use wit( no problem. All good..No after getting home after 9 hour flight at 20.00 I then found out that extra tolls had been added after my pass had been handed back. Even after a number of emails showing that the tolls were going away from Orlando airport after my pass was handed back. One I never went near and after my flight had taken off!!! I eventually got the tolls refunded but a hassle doing so, good system just let down by little bits.

What seemed like a great idea in…

What seemed like a great idea in principle to help tourists manage tolls in Florida did not turn out to be a good idea for us at all in practice. We picked up our prearranged toll pass from the vending machine at 4.03 pm on Friday 7th Oct, went to our hire car, input the vehicle registration and hung the pass on the rear view mirror as explained in the instructions on the app. When I checked my emails the following day I had received 2 emails, the 1st saying my trip had begun followed by the 2nd email saying my trip had now ended and to return the pass, the total time the pass was live was 2 minutes before it ended. As I was over 2 hours drive away I contacted the company to see what has gone wrong, they were unsure why it had ended 16 days early and informed me the best option would be to start a new trip, return the pass, collect another one and try from there, I was not willing to make a four hour return journey so I just avoided any toll roads the best I could for our holiday duration. I returned the pass on my return to the airport and informed them of that but no notification from them that I will get my $10 deposit back. Because of the issues I will not use this method of paying tolls in Florida again and opt for another means. The app refused to let me do anything until I had returned the pass but you would think the company would have a way of extending the pass while in use by a customer. It turned out to be just a hindrance to our holiday so for that reason I cannot recommend.
