Needed Vital Stat Docs for foreign passport application

I want to get a foreign passport based on my Dad's country of birth, but for that I needed copies of his death certificate and marriage certificate to my Mom, both from NJ. I was able to figure out where he was married, and I helped get him into a nursing home where he died a year or so later, so I knew a lot, but dealing with two municipalities while living abroad to get the documents was daunting. VitalChek made it easy! You still need to know some stats and provide ID's and it isn't extremely cheap, but compared to the time I would have spent, and would still have had to pay for express or registered shipping, it was a bargain!

Unsatisfactory Transaction

I received a document stating that VitalCheck couldn't retrieve my marriage certificate. I paid $22 for that. I walked into a Clerk of Court public records office, received a copy in less than 10 minutes for $3. There was no email communication during the VitalCheck process, as promised. I requested a refund but was denied. I am very unsatisfied w my VitalCheck transaction
