DON'T upgrade to latest version of VLC…

Did an upgrade to latest version of VLC and it screwed up my videos so that all videos now play choppy and accelerate the playback. Playback only plays normally when you select the VLC menu and it is active. Also, noticed that when I now use windows media player or media center it won't play movies saying the file is corrupt. Could that be VLC sabotage? Wasted a lot of time trying known fixes for the latest update that don't work. Bottom line is don't every install a new version of VLC!!! Another good software App now bytes the dust due to developer's negligence.

VLC player has been my go to vidio…

VLC player has been my go to vidio player for more than 25 years but an update that must have been sent out after December 1st 2025 has made a difference. It refuses to display images on some MKV files and only plays the audio. and if i try to download subtitle it freezes and asks me to close the app. So no more VLC for now. I hope these bugs will be fixed in the near future.

VlC Skins Impossible

VlC is a good player but customizing interface skin is impossible.Whoever created this option didn't compile it right for the user to change the skins in reasonable working steps. The options doesn't recognize the Resource file option because nothing comes up to choose a skin. It's a shame they are beautiful to download but you can't use them if you can't choose them!

Review for VLC app

Not really a company review, but rather their player.
The player itself seems good in playing most formats, but the slow feature really doesn't work, especially at very slow speeds. It takes forever to start, freezes the frame and sometimes crashes the app. I ratehr use Pot Player instead for this function.

Hey VLC its 2025

Hey VLC its 2025, not 2005.
This is by far the most clunky excuse for a player.
It over complicates everything. It does that because the think power users will appreciate the detail.
But put things where no one would find.
Used them since they started. And seems Devs fell asleep and said its good enough. Its over rates and over complicated and does nothing other players do simply.

It's ridiculous.

It's ridiculous.

We launch an mp3 file, once the file plays, the Play button turns grey, and it is impossible to replay the same audio file without having to close the application and restart it again.

It's a pathetic version that was forgotten and needs to be scrapped, and they will have to roll up their sleeves or find the weak link in the team.

Until there is a Stable and properly usable version, this video player no longer exists for me.

Hung up on doing *very* simple operation; 2005 interface

Worst user interface of any program I've used in the past 20 years. (It doesn't appear to have changed in 20 years, either--so the creator(s) clearly don't think it needs improvement.) Violates all kinds of modern user interface norms. Reminds me of old UNIX programs where a crude UI was built on top of a command-line program. Used it lately to convert a mp4 to mp3--super-simple--and it hung up, with message: "The output file already exists. If recording continues, the file will be overridden and its content will be lost." It gave me two buttons: "Overwrite" and "Keep existing file"--both buttons do nothing but cause the same dialogue to reappear, in an endless loop. I asked ChatGPT about it, and its response: "You just uncovered one of VLC’s oldest, worst bugs: The 'output file exists' endless loop bug. (Reported as far back as 2015. They still haven’t fixed it.)" Even if I made some configuration error, *no* competent program puts you in a position where your only option is killing the program. If I have to force your program down after 5 minutes of using it, you flunk CS 101, and get one star.

I love your video player, BUT...

I love your video player, for the most part, but with a few caveats: I'm using v18, & it works beautifully; v19, however, refuses to play certain .mp4 files without pixelating them, and so does v20, although the .mp4 files v20 pixelates are not the same ones that v19 does.
It would also be nice if I could sound-equalize all the videos on a playlist, because some are normal at 50%, while some others are normal at 150%. I've tried using the feature on the program that says it does this, but it doesn't actually do it.
Thank you.

It's basically a virus, it takes over your device & makes itself difficult 2 remove. DON'T install it. U hav been warned....

Not my immediate go to but brilliant when nothing else works.

I've used VLC on and off for years, they're not the most user friendly app for an unsavvy OAP like me but they're my go to when everything else fails. Down loading from YouTube and getting audio and a black screen ? VLC never fails, more complicated & takes longer but doesn't let you down.

I just bought a new Samsung phone, cloned my files from the last one only to find Samsung doesn't support wma (music) files anymore downloaded VLC, back to normal, goodbye Samsung music app (good phone otherwise).

VLC Media Player is awesome!

VLC Media Player is awesome!
Both mobile and PC versions.
PC version lets you to bump the volume up to 200%, that's one great thing.
The design is nice, it's free, no ads, open-source.
