Quick summary - responsive until they received my full payment, then no progress after 1 full year.

As a small business in San Francisco, we wanted an updated web site just for company info and pictures. Jason had quoted a quick turnaround - 2 weeks for a logo re-design and a total of 6 weeks for the web site to go live.

1/31/2023 - received a quote from Jason at Voco Design
2/1/2023 - I accepted the quote and paid my 50% deposit
2/9/2023 - logo re-design delivered and accepted
3/8/2023 - web site mock ups delivered and accepted
4/12/2023 - invoiced for remaining 50% and paid it

The following steps is when everything broke down
Between May and June of 2023, either myself or Jason was out of town/country, so we could not finalize.

8/2/2023 - Jason requested access to my web hosting server to start uploading. I have not seen any changes to my web site at all.

Since then, I have not been able to get a commitment from Jason or his team. Jason has sent me messages saying he was out of town, medical emergencies, etc which I can totally understand and was willing to wait for him. I had called his office and Tom had responded to look into it, but I have now been ignored by Tom as well.

As of 2/1/2024 (one year later!!), I have sent an email to Jason and Tom to just close the project. They can refund me some portion of my 100% paid job, but they have not responded. I have changed the password to my web hosting as a precaution.

I am willing to call this a loss and mark it as a lesson learned working with design companies. Maybe my company was too small for them, but seems my money was good enough for them

This place is the worst place ever. They are not professional and ignored all of our problems with our website. I have a long story. Reach out if you want the whole story. Jason is horrible and completely ignored us and he ignored us for weeks for which we paid money for services. They are scammers and liars.

SCAMMERS!!! An absolute NIGHTMARE of a company to work with. I would advise to stay away from Voco Design by all means! I hired their services in March to create a “landing” page for me. It was communicated that the lead time would be 1 to 1.5 weeks. Here we are now ending December and it is still not complete, a landing page! I had deadlines to meet with Vendors and the USPTO that were dependent on this work being completed, I have missed those due to Voco Design’s inability to produce what they communicated in their contract. Through this entire process I have received excuse after excuse from Jason(Voco's project manager). This evolved so badly that I had to threaten litigation to get things moving from a dead stop, they still failed. I requested a refund(on 7/21 and again on 11/16) after they negatively impacted my business and caused me to miss these deadlines, they refuse to issue a refund quoting “we are a minority run company”. How does that excuse you from satisfying our contractual agreement of which you yourself produced to me? I’ve never heard such an excuse in my life to a consumer when they request a refund due to supplier negligence. This company practices bad business ethics and compromised morals. When a discrepancy was discovered and communicated, they attempted to mask the issue rather than address it the proper way to ensure quality and standards in the services they provide. THIS IS WHEN I REALIZED I WAS DEALING WITH A MORALLY COMPRIMISED COMPANY AND STAFF!!! I am blown away by my experience considering their reviews but the service I have received and their deceitful attempt to mask their error is clear as day. This was my first and projected worst experience working with a web developer! STAY AWAY from Voco! “Friendly” service(blatant lack of) does not substitute for contractual agreements, expectations, and commitments. I wish I would have gone with any of the many many alternative developers with actual tentativeness and punctuality. In summary, if you value your time and money, please avoid this company. Now I’m sure they will follow up to this review with yet again another barrage of excuses(they are really good at this) and put the blame on me, the consumer, since it’s taken 9+ months to deliver as they continue to lie, evade, and ignore both communication and obligation. It is now 12/22/22 as I wrap this review up, my last attempt at contact and resolution was on 12/8/22, they have not responded, refunded, nor produced the content/website. I have officially been scammed out of thousands of dollars by Voco design. I have given them 9 months to execute what they said would be 1-1.5 weeks, I reached out to the CEO(Pepe) with no response, the CFO(Pepe) with no response, their legal team with no response, and the project manager(Jason) with no response. I do have all communication between Voco and myself in the event someone is considering their services and would like further confirmation of this review. I will be filing in Small Claims court at this point. No response from my 12/8 correspondence, unacceptable behavior and practices as I’ve learned to expect from Voco Design. I was awestruck in the beginning by their reviews, never thought that they would take my money and scam me. Don't be like me and take the risk, find a different developer and save yourself 9 months and thousands of dollars.

UPDATE: After reviewing Yelp reviews, this is common practice for Voco. If you are a small business, they will take your money and call it a day. Hire at your own risk.

These guys at Voco are just amazing. An awesome team of highly professional web designers and developers. They will make your online business rock by providing you with a stunning digital appearance over the internet.

Thank you Jason and your team for everything. You were really helpful, creative, and professional in your ideas and designs. I'm really happy with how the logo and site turned out. I plan on using you guys again in the future for sure. Thanks again!

We are stage and prop fabricators. They walked us through branding and general new business setup. They took the mystery out of a lot of the tech side of things which we knew nothing about. These guys continue to have our back a couple years in now.
