"This Company Was Contracted to Carry Out Structural Work — Nine Months Late, Defects Confirmed by Independent Engineer"
This company was contracted to carry out extensive structural work throughout the property, including new floor construction, structural steelwork, roofing and damp-proofing. Every payment was made in full and on time. Works began November 2025 against a seven-week completion date and remain unfinished more than nine months later.
An independent chartered structural engineer's report found this work, previously represented to us as complete, was defective and not built to the approved drawings, including undersized floor joists, missing baseplate grouting, site-welded steel connections installed without required engineer approval, and incorrectly spaced column restraints.
A redundant cesspit was uncovered during foundation excavation and, by the builder's own account, left exposed for several weeks before being built over without proper closure. We have since had to arrange its investigation and decommissioning ourselves.
Despite repeated requests over several weeks, we were never provided with the steel material certification, fabrication records or welding documentation needed to verify the structural steelwork installed at our property.
Communication was poor throughout, deadlines were repeatedly missed, and remedial works remain outstanding. Cannot recommend based on our experience.
