We are on the way to the airport. No announcement. No official on the train to be seen . No ANNOUNCEMENT NO APOLOGY .

My case involved an international merchant in a different timezone. I thought it was a lost cause. 🄹ⓤ🅂ⓣ🄸ⓒ🄴ⓕ🄸ⓔ🄻ⓓ tracked the payment through the intermediary bank and filed a formal reclaim. It took nearly1 months, but I got every cent back. Don't give up hope

The worst.

The worst.
The train was late and no one said anything until way past the leaving time. It's night train with wonderful bight lights. There's no place for luggage unless they're very small. And there's not enough charging station for everyone.
Moreover if you try to talk to VR personnel they'll ignore you more often than not.

Absolutely rubbish always late minimum of half hour in 29th of December was late 3 hours I paid for a intercity and I end up in a dog carriage commuter train took two hours if I want to use commuter train it would cost me only third of the price I paid I end up waiting two hours it was freezing outside no public toilet to use in kouvola Station and after 2 hours I have to ask another train if possible to take me with them because I cannot wait anymore he said OK you could come but I end up in the cheapest carriage full of dogs for 2 hours .but I was never given the money difference I have paid for my ticket which is 3 times more expensive than commuter train prices especially dogs carriage are the cheapest disgrace from vr. Fi. It's always late from 30 minutes to 3 hours better to pay less and use computer train which is never late and are very cheap to use compared to intercity

Never again

The train's doors close within 10 seconds, which is not enough time to board the train when there's people exiting from the same door whom you have to avoid!!

Also the buttons that are supposed to open the train doors do not function!!

Leaving customers outside of the train, or possibly locking them inside because the doors close too fast leads to a nightmarish experience.

Dystopian behavior!!!

The train was so full that I didn't get a seat for the first half of my trip. At least it was on time, but it wasn't comfortable.

Garbage

Garbage. No one follows rules of seats, even when separately reserved, except for specialised seats such as cabins. Staff are unhelpful at best and even misleading at worst.

Terrible experience

We had an at least 7h delay sue to failure at the railway. After the failure was repaired their own truck fixing the damage was stucked and we even waited for this to be fixed. Overall a terrible experience which made us lost a whole day of our trip..After all this they do not even provide a full refund and only partial

It was a horrendous ordeal

It was a nightmare. We booked sleeper cabin in VR Santa’s Express which was a overnight train bound from Rovaniemi to Helsinki on 4th March 2025. As soon as we boarded the train there was a strong stench coming from the coach 55. We learnt that there has been an issue with toilet. We gave a call to customerservice who noted down the issue but did nothing. When a VR conductor came to verify our ticket, we reported the issue requested her to change our seating. She said there are no cabins. Upon further probing, she gave a cabin details which was already occupied by someone else. At the middle of the night, someone used bathroom that was out of service. Till now there was only faint smell. But now the unbearable toilet smell has seeped into cabin making me nauseous. It becomes so overwhelming that I had to go to restaurant car. And the door through one of the coaches to the restaurant car didn't work on first attempt. I had to come back later to sit in peace at midnight. I wish I had chosen a bus instead of overnight train. I am writing this review while sitting in restaurant car. I wish no one should go through such ordeal. Here is my order number - F3010177622119. Also, the chat option which was supposed to work until midnight was closed before midnight.

Punctual and Comfortable

Punctual, comfy, peaceful (there were very few people on the train). It was quite warm (I travelled on February so it was very important for me). I travelled from Turku to Helsinki and the departure and arrival was on time. I recommend it.

VR has the worst customer service

VR has the worst customer service. We traveled round trip from Helsinki to Rovaniemi. Contacting customer service is expensive. They are the masters of taking money out of your wallet. No wonder train travel is dying. Flying is cheaper and faster.

This is a fraud

This is a fraud. I did travel with VR 2 times this summer. I come from Sweden and was in need for support. I did call for approx 15 min in total and was charged with 65 € for the call.

The application VR Matkalla cleary states that the cost is 0.06 € + inc/mcc. Inc/mcc is 0 when using Halebop/Telia (Sweden) and I have been in contact with Halebop several times and they say the full cost is from VR.

I wrote a review on Google Store and was told to contact VR, but then nothing happens.
