Horrible school

Horrible school. They don’t help you with anything. Pretty much just leaves you hanging. No financial aid help what so ever. Advisor don’t know anything. Admissions don’t know anything. Nobody is on the same page.

I have spent 9 years at Walden…

I have spent 9 years at Walden University and still do not have my DBA. They have changed their chair instructors too many times causing great harm to my learning. Each instructor change brings their own personal writing standards which are different than the previous one. In the last course the IRB and the instructor Dooley forced me to change my longstanding qualitative case study to a pragmatic case study without any help on how to do that academically correct. I have a longstanding 3.25 GPA. Walden is only out for the money. DO NOT ENROLL AT WALDEN UNIVERSITY.

Spam Calls & Texts

Since I initially applied, my phone has been inundated with phone calls and texts from Tammy Byerly, who's a representative for Walden University. While I submitted all of the required documents needed to process my application, she has deliberately refused to process it without a phone call to "confirm some information and to assure we are placing students in the correct degree plan, start date etc". I do not personally require any hand-holding, or assistance in this matter, I am a grown adult and am capable of making my own decisions. I am attempting to apply to a graduate level program, this isn't my first rodeo. Stop wasting people's time and money.

This school is a joke

This school is a fraud and a joke! DO NOT ATTEND!! Not only was I repeatedly failed over a small scale assignment, they waited until the end of my semester to let me turn it in for the final time so that I wouldn't be able to finish the class and get credit for it. The tempo program is designed to fail you on the first submission of every assignment so you can "fix" what's wrong according to the professors. The whole grading scale is poorly explained, the advisors do not care and do not know what's going on with the program. I also was advised to take statistics with Sophia, so I did and completed the certification of credit. After the fact, I was informed that I had to drop one of my transferrable credits in order to add the statistics class, and then the university added a new class onto my required courses. Making it an even longer timeline to graduate. I ended up leaving the program with a bill of a little over 3K and I was making payments monthly. Sometimes little, sometimes larger, depending on how much food I wanted to eat that month. I was informed that I had to set the account up on a payment plan, pay it in full, or it was getting turned into collections. I called to get it set up on a payment plan ( I have no problem with paying what I owe the University, even though I don't think the program deserves a cent, ultimately I attended for a semester and that is what I owe. That's fine.) After speaking with the financial advisors, they gave me an option, pay it upfront in full or they offer installment options for 2, 3, or 4 payments. Even if I took the 4 installment options, I would have to pay over 800 a month. If I had that money, I would have been paying it from the start. I explained that I couldn't make that kind of a larger payment, and they very uncompassionately told me it would have to go to collections. This University doesn't care about their students. They only care about their money.

I have been enrolled in the school

I have been enrolled in the school, trying to get a degree for 9 years. I have never struggled with grades. My day job is a medical clinician and I have been independently practicing for 10 years already. I have never struggled with accomplishing tasks or anything that would making learning difficult (such as learning disabilities or unrealistic family obligations, etc). This is the only place that I have been where they continuously move the finish line making it impossible to graduate. Do not come.

Not worth the investment

I would rather make a hard C with a school where their teachers, teach and guide. How does a "teacher" judge work they didn't teach? This school is not worth anywhere near 3000 per online class. It is predatory. The school has the audacity to increase tuition. Why? Walden also does not offer multiple languages. The online MPA is self taught. I don't need to pay to teach myself. Not worth the effort or money. No return on anyone's investment. Which congress person/people approved an accredited school taking this much money without teaching at all. Are they getting a cut as well? Now we know why school officials and people in congress fight so hard for federal aid, because they profit from it, but the students will not. My income should match my degree. Yes, that is the responsibility of the school as you continue to profit, not solely just the students.

Walden University is an excellent online learning platform.

Walden University is an excellent school for obtaining a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. They have a supportive faculty and staff to help you obtain your degree. Online education differs from bricks and mortars, requiring more discipline and time management skills. By connecting with faculty and colleagues within your degree program, your success rate becomes higher as you work collaboratively towards expanding your knowledge during your tenure at Walden University.
It's not about how fast you complete your academic journey but how you pace yourself throughout your marathon that will enable you to finish success at the finish line.

I request that Walden University forthwith make my student account current, paid in full, and release my transcripts immediately.

On May 23, 2014, I received an email (please see attached), from Walden University’s Bursars Office, and a later payment for a retroactive tuition reduction based on my military status. The Bursar Petition Committee and university leadership, according to the email, said they “would like to extend a refundable tuition waiver in the amount of $9,142.22 due to (my) missed savings.” This amount was a random, arbitrary number, and gave no real accounting for the actual amount owed. In fact, according to my calculations, which were based on real numbers, this amount is far less than what was actually owed me.
The Walden University’s Bursars Office then made a direct deposit into my account for more than their stated amount owned. The office then immediately placed a hold on my academic records and demanded payment. Not only is this ridiculous, unfair, it is also contrary to the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) [20 USC 1232g and 34 CFR 99] and thus, is according to this agency and others, against the law. I request that Walden University forthwith make my student account current, paid in full, and release my transcripts immediately.

I started attending Walden University…

I started attending Walden University in August 2018 I was a good student and got good grades my GPA was never under a 3.0… In the year of 2019 October I decided to transfer out and had to people working with me, Ez and Kory and they also gave the me the day when it was time to withdraw without having any issues! I did as they advise me and also got with my older sister and she told me they were right and to go ahead and withdraw leaving the school with the 4.0 and a zero balance because I did not get the last pell grants or financial aid. I was emailed a month later, said I owed Walden and if I didn’t pay I would be sent to collections and put on my credit! Now you have brought my credit score down, sent to collections and they want twice the amount you say I owe and I can’t get my transcripts to apply for another school!! These people are the worst online school I have ever witnessed! Because I didn’t stay and finish the course with them they are taking away my rights to finish it elsewhere and I have all documents of communication to back up what I am saying… Every text message every email.

online DNP programs

If you think you want to improve your nursing career, online DNP programs can help. If you work as a nurse, getting a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree the regular way may be tricky. But an online DNP program can allow you to work and study at the same time.
