Had a problem with the handbrake on my car, AA we're called out and managed to get the car to my local garage for inspection/ repair. Turns out it was a brake caliper. Sent an email to warranty assist with all the information and within a couple of days had my invoice refunded to me. Dane went above and beyond! Thanks

I bought a used car off autotrader and car came with warranty with warranty Assist so thought this would give me confidence in buying a used car. However after one week the engine light come on and took car to garage. Was advised by garage that there were issues with turbo and fuel pump and was quoted £2,580. Discussed with warranty and sent a third party for assessment and report. this was carried out and waited over a week for report and then was informed they will not cover any of the cost as the damage was due to previous poor repair. Only having the car 1 week this was not my poor repair it was from previous owner. This company does not advocate for there customers and i am now being penalised for previous owner and having to pay the garage costs.

Dear bill bill/ Debbie,

RE: Pre existing fault, faulty workmanship

Thank you for your review. It is important for readers to understand that no warranty can cover pre existing faults or failures cause by prior faulty workmanship.

6 days after the warranty for your 8 year old Ford Kuga began, you reported an issue with your turbo charger.

You then advised you were not wanting to proceed with the claim and were taking the vehicle back to the selling dealer.

Subsequently after initiating the first claim you returned to us after you had taken the vehicle to your chosen garage who stated after they removed the turbo charger, they found the fuel pump plug had been superglued and had broken apart almost certainly leading to the issue on the turbo due to swarf.

The car was inspected by an independent garage who founds advised the loss of power was due to a replacement turbo charger (pre dating the warranty) which caused the solenoid to burn out, The technician also noted there is an issue relating to the fuel pump, as the pump connector was glued together prior to the warranty, this is clearly a poor previous repair.

These findings confirm the issues result from faulty workmanship pre dating the warranty, rather than a sudden mechanical failure.

No warranty covers pre existing faults or faults due to faulty workmanship.

A manager will be in touch to discuss your comments.

Alex

Great Service!

We’ve been using Warranty Assist for our dealership and the service has been excellent from day one. They react quickly to any issues that come up and always do their best to help resolve them as smoothly as possible. Their communication is spot-on, and you can tell they genuinely care about supporting both the dealer and the customer.

A special mention to Mike, who is the person I normally deal with — he’s always helpful, efficient, and makes the whole process easy. Really appreciate the support.

Highly recommend Warranty Assist to anyone looking for a reliable and responsive warranty company.

## **Warning stay away from this manipulative company. They are just after taking your money without offering support

## **Warning: Avoid Warranty Assist – Five Months of Stress, Delays, and Misleading Information**

The dealership I bought my car from encouraged me to sign up for Warranty Assit: 3-Year Gold Plan (paid in full)**

I’m sharing my experience so others don’t fall victim to what I’ve been put through. What should have been a simple warranty claim turned into **five months of stress, misinformation, repeated delays, and questionable behaviour** from Warranty Assist.

### **1. Ignored Diagnoses & Repeated Delays**

I reported a **gearbox warning/limp mode** on **11 July 2025**. Warranty Assist constantly pushed back on diagnostics, then told me to seek my own at a VAT-registered garage — only to dismiss the report later.
Across five months I had **more that four independent diagnostics**, all confirming the same gearbox fault. The only garage that *missed* it was the one Warranty Assist initially sent me to.

### **2. Claims Wrongly Declined Despite Clear Policy Coverage**

**engine cooling fan fault**, which is **clearly covered** in the very first paragraph of Warranty Assist’s Gold Plan booklet. Warranty Assist still declined it.
Only after multiple calls and emotional distress did they reluctantly reopen the claim.

### **3. Miscommunication, Contradictory Updates & Unprofessional Behaviour**

Throughout the process:

* Staff failed to call back as promised
* I was given **conflicting information**
* Garages told me Warranty Assist were giving them **incorrect updates**
* Quotes changed without explanation
* A call handler even **raised his voice** when I questioned discrepancies

The lack of professionalism was shocking.

### **4. Forced to Pay for Gearbox Strip-Down**

Even after Warranty Assist’s own inspector confirmed a transmission issue, they insisted I pay for a gearbox strip-down “at my own risk”.
When the garage sent the results (including photos) on **28 October**, Warranty Assist claimed they hadn't received anything until I personally re-sent them from my phone.

### **5. The Fastest Decision They Ever Made Was… Declining the Claim**

Within **seconds** of receiving the photos from me — while still on the phone — I received an email saying my claim was **declined**.
The case handler even admitted he *had not* spoken to the garage as he was supposed to.
After more than four months of delays, suddenly Warranty Assist could make an instant decision when it meant refusing responsibility.

### **6. Covered Components Were Still Denied**

Under the Gold Plan, parts like:

* Clutches
* Modulator valves
* Actuators
* Flywheels and drive plates
* Cooling fans

…are all listed as covered.
Multiple garages confirmed this. Warranty Assist still refused the claim.

### **7. The Impact on Me**

For nearly five months:

* My car was unsafe or undriveable
* I kept paying finance
* I paid for diagnostics only because Warranty Assist demanded them
* My wellbeing and mental health suffered

This was my **first ever claim** after buying the most expensive plan — and it turned into a nightmare.

---

## **Bottom Line**

Warranty Assist’s behaviour — repeated delays, refusal to acknowledge evidence, contradictory reasoning, and sudden decisions when declining claims — has destroyed my trust in them.

I’m sharing this review so others know what they may be walking into.
If you value transparency, fairness, and proper customer service, **look elsewhere for warranty coverage**.

Note: Warranty assist, motor angel and motoreasy are all the same company with different compolauge names. stay away from them, safe your money for your own repair and don’t pay these companies who just need your money.

I would avoid this company for your warranty service. My car broken after I bought the car from main dealer with £2000 plus for warranty itself only. I had the car for 5 months and I was covered for 2 years since I paid that extra £2000 for the warranty and I contacted warranty assist and told them my situation which was 2 of the cylinders wasn't working. After so many calls and emails they have decided they weren't going to pay even though it was covered.

Dear Habtom,

Re: Carbon build up excluded by warranty.

Thank you for you review on your 9 year old Nissan Qashqai.

We do investigate early faults like this when a customer has owned the car for such a long time and in this instance, we paid for an independent engineer to inspect the car.

After receiving the independent engineers report and assessing the photos of the pistons, we declined the claim according to the terms and conditions the piston failures are due to carbon build up which is excluded by any warranty.

No warranty can cover faults that were caused due to excessive carbon build up as doing so would be unfair to other customers.

Happy with Customer Success team handling of my case

I am writing this review to express my appreciation for the support I received from Dane Walters within the Warranty Assist team.

I experienced an issue with a recent claim which was initially declined. Following my complaint, Dane contacted me and resolved the matter to my satisfaction.

As a gesture of good will, the company has agreed to cover the cost of the repair. I am grateful for this positive outcome.

Thank you, Dane, for your efforts.

Hi Sana from MCR Motors Manchester,

Thank you for your review and for giving us the opportunity to respond in this open forum. With one in every four cars you placed on cover with us having suffered a failure (many of which were within the first 30 days of the warranty), you were provided with financial help outside the terms of the warranty on numerous occasions.

Given the level of support you have received from Warranty Assist over the last four years, your review is surprising to say the least.

The review in question was for a vehicle just 15 days on cover for a power steering pump. The customer declined the offer of an inspection which would have confirmed the cause.

As a gesture of goodwill to our long standing relationship, Warranty Assist were able to provide a goodwill contribution towards these repairs.

The second, the “alternator” issue you mentioned was in fact not an alternator at all. The EML was illuminated due to an ABS module having been left unplugged. The workshop confirmed that this had been deliberately left unplugged to stop the ABS pump motor from running on and draining the battery. Clearly this is not a sudden component failure. The fact it was not the alternator was confirmed to MCR Motors several times but this misconception has clearly remained through subsequent months.

As you will understand after four years of MCR Motors providing our warranty products to your customers, we cannot cover pre-existing issues on vehicles as it is unfair to other customers who must pay through increased premiums.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you once again for your business over the last four years and we are sorry that you felt it necessary to leave this review after such a long and successful partnership.

BARGE POLE TOUCH WITH DONT!!

LIARS AND CHEATS. THEY WILL NOT PAY OUT AND DO EVERYTHING THEY CAN TO CAUSE YOU GRIEF, DELAYING TACTICS ETC. they will make you wait for weeks with no car and then refuse to pay by wriggling out trying to deny responsibility in the contract. Go to a solicitor, and the ombudsman and trading standards.

If you read a good review theyy are writing them themselves. All the bad ones are the real people. Snyde company run by fraudsters. UPDATE Aparently warranty assist can ask for more information about your experience and if not supplied trust pilot will remove the review. I have not had a request that I have seen. Warranty Assist please give me details of who to contact and I will do so. You are going to be taken to court anyway so let me know what you need. And the main purpose of this post is to warn people from taking out a warranty with you as you do not honour it should a circumstance arise.

This company are very under handed in…

This company are very under handed in how they process their claims. It took 4 days for them to even decide if they were starting to look at the claim. They then decided they wanted to send their own mechanic out which took 9 days. Then it took a further 10 days to get the report telling me why they were not accepting the claim. Firstly they don't cover for any pre existing problems so they'll do their hardest to find that. But also because I could not wait a month to get my car back I had my mechanic fix the problem so they declined the claim based on this. They loved to quote line 236 of the contract id agreed with them. But basically the warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on. I paid for this warranty so my local garage could investigate problems and repair them. Not to be delayed for a month so that I'd end up breaking a condition that is unreasonable. I would recommend not using their service. I'm just glad that the cost of wriggling out of paying was more than the cost of fixing it.

What's it matter if you get in touch or not Gabby. Your company is not worth the money. I warn anyone from dealing with your company.

You declined to accept a review of what was repaired and sent your own assessor out. Who clearly was uninformed of the situation. Just glad the whole process cost your company more money to wriggle out of it that just accepting my garages report. The only reason my garage looked at it is because of your unreasonable delays to send some one out. Anyone reading this you best have a spare car available for a month as that's approximately how long your car will be stuck in a garage if any claim is made.

Dear Mr Robinson,

RE: Repairs completed no authority, No diagnosis or invoice.

Thank you for your review on your 9 year old Seat Leon.

A warranty is designed to cover sudden and unexpected failures not parts which have not failed or we can have an opportunity to assess the repair requirements.

No warranty covers parts where they have been repaired without assessing the claim before commencing the work of which you advised the garage to do after we advised we were arranging an independent inspector to attend the vehicle.

We still do not have any diagnostic report or quotation for what work was carried out on the vehicle.

No warranty can continue to exceed the terms chosen as to do so is not fair to other members who must pay through increased premiums.

A manager will be in touch to discuss your case.

Absolute con

Absolute con. Refuse to honour repairs required try to wriggle out of everything. Not worth the paper it is written on even the GOLD level of cover. You will notice there is no google business listing because they cannot influence the review scores there. You can place loads of review as different users to improve scores. Usually the give away is whene they keep mentioning how great they are and individuals named as being great. Plenty of thos in the case of reviews here. the real ones are clear for all to see.

Dear Mr “Helpmechef”

RE: Not listed component

Thank you for your review regarding your VVT valve solenoid claim on your 10 year old VW Golf.

VVT Solenoid is not a listed component under your Gold plan your claim was declined.

No warranty can cover components that are not specifically listed or that are excluded under your plan.

We must adhere to the terms and conditions of your policy, it is not fair and equitable to other members to cover excluded parts as they must pay through increased premiums.
