I’ve been with WarrantyWise for a good number of years. Had always previously had a positive experience with them in that time. However, over the last few years it feels as though they have significantly gone down hill; adding various loop holes and clauses that allow them to refuse you cover on components listed in your plan.
I had a repair request denied last year despite the turbo “and all moving parts” being listed. I didn’t challenge this, I accepted their reasoning and I took the £1300 repairs on the chin whilst continuing to pay them. In hindsight though, rather than continuing to pay them, I perhaps should have challenged them on it. Anyway, much to my own detriment I continued to pay them.
Lo and behold an issue cropped up (that’s listed as covered under my plan) on my new car and they’ve found a loop hole to refuse payment again. Their loop hole being “the issue is progressive” and “your car is 10 years old so we don’t provide cover on progressive issues for cars that age” - yet I was sold a plan for cars that age which included cover for the components that failed?
So the cover isn’t worth the paper it’s written on if they can claim covered components have failed “progressively” and that cover isn’t applied to vehicles that are 10 years old which they can then refuse cover on - their reasoning undermines the entire thing because they can literally say that about any mechanical part or component that’s failed. And all this after being sold this level of cover for a car they knew was over 10 years old?
Based on other user reviews, it seems this is a common tactic from the company when they get billed with an expensive repair.
It’s a dishonest loophole and I cannot reasonably recommend this company based on this reasoning.
Just seems like a con these days whereas, in the past, they were reliable and they had you covered. I’ve appealed their decision to reject payment but despite being a loyal customer for 10 years, I’ve had my appeal rejected.
They won’t be receiving money from myself ever again after this. Not only have they lost a long term customer (who would have remained a life time customer) but they’ve also lost future customers - because I used to rave about this company and recommend them to everyone. Won’t be doing that anymore and I’ll instead be advising people to steer clear.
And this isn’t about them simply denying me. They have denied me in the past and I’ve accepted it. But what I’ve noticed over the last few years is that they will look for ANY loophole they can. And on this occasion, it all just feels like a con.
Speak to any garage and they’ll tell you that this company rarely pays out.
Don’t be misled by the bloated 5 star reviews that are literally just people “thanking” staff for good customer service and take your custom elsewhere, unless you want to pay £800+ a year for a cover they rarely provide.
*EDIT*
Ok so after extensive negotiations with the escalations team, I have changed my review from 1 star to 3 stars.
The reason I have changed to 3 stars is because all of the above I have outlined remains true, however warrantywise (as a show of good faith) agreed to contribute part of the funds towards the repair. However rather than a payment to myself, they have knocked the agreed amount of my plan total. Meaning I pay nothing to them for 5 months and, from there, payments will resume as a significantly lower rate for the remaining 5 months on the plan.
Therefore. It would be unreasonable of me to still only give them 1 star when they have actively worked with me to come to an amicable resolution with this disputed issue.

This is my first experience using Warrantywise. I rang with a query regarding my cover and I can honestly say the customer service advisor Ashleigh was fantastic. She fully explained the process of making a claim and forwarded all documentation I require to proceed with my repair. I would recommend this provider for any motoring warranties you may require.

Overall a great experience in getting two repairs authorised and Amy in particular on the online chat was super-helpful and efficient with resolving queries. It would be good if there were enough staff to allow you to talk to a representative without the long holding-on period, but the online chat worked well enough. Overall a great company to deal with and I’d recommend 👍
