Disappointing Silence: The Washington Post Abandons Its Endorsement Role

It’s disappointing to see a legacy publication like The Washington Post shy away from endorsing a candidate in this critical election cycle. Historically, major newspapers have provided endorsements to help readers navigate complex political landscapes, standing as trusted sources during pivotal moments. By withholding this endorsement, it feels as though the paper is prioritizing corporate influence over journalistic responsibility and civic duty. Many longtime readers expect better from an institution renowned for its advocacy and watchdog role in our democracy.

The cowardice displayed by WAPO today…

The cowardice displayed by WAPO today is stunning in this critically important election where virtually everyone who has worked closely with Trump has declared him unfit, incompetent, dangerous, or all of the above. I have been a subscriber for nearly 40 years, and just cancelled my subscription— not because you didn’t pick my candidate, but because with all of your knowledge you sat this one out. Democracy dies in darkness?! Ha. You extinguished your own light today thanks to your weak little oligarch owner. Shame on you.

Is the Washington Post just a bunch of cowards?

Hi. I heard that you disabled this page. Hmmm, I wonder why? If you can't tell the truth about a presidential candidate who plans on destroying everything this country is... Then stop and close shop! I'm angry that you would rather protect a pathological liar like Donald Trump then speak truth to power.

I will cancel the idea of subscribing to your worthless paper.

If Bezos used some of his wealth to stop Trump by supporting Kamala Harris he wouldn't have to cower like a little b!@ch!

BOYCOTT THE WASHINGTON POST!!!

it goes to show and it speaks volumes…

it goes to show and it speaks volumes when I look at your reviews that with the threat to our democracy, you would not stand up for the first woman president of the United States, who is a true lawyer, abiding citizen! Upstanding member of society and a truly decent person over a convicted felon rapist. Look at your reviews. People sit back and really need to examine your conscience and I understand why you have a one star!
You should be ashamed of yourself!

What a disgrace to journalism

What a disgrace to journalism. This paper is nothing more than lying propaganda that has no integrity or factual information.. I wouldn’t even use it as a pee pad for my dog, only use is to start a fire and that’s they do best start fires to destroy our country with their agendas

I Am Done With Washington Post

I subscribed Washington Post weekend editions for over 10 years because of the weekend Samurai Sudoku and coupons. I don't really care about this newspaper, they are one-sided and a left propaganda newspaper. Over the years, the quality of Washington Post has degraded so I decided to cancel my subscription when the current subscription runs out on November 3, 2024. I called Washington Post a week ago notifying them of my intention to cancel the weekend subscription when it expires. The customer representative (CR) tried to persuade me to stay on but I told him of my firm decision. Since I have a vacation credit of $16 with Washington Post, I asked that the vacation credit be refunded to the credit card that I made payment with. I was told by the CR that the vacation credit will be refunded to my credit card in 3-5 business days, however, this did not happen. I called again today to inquire about the credit refund, this time the CR that I spoke with told me that because I did not set up automatic credit card payment, the credit refund will be initiated as a check on Sunday, November 10, 2024 after the last Sunday newspaper delivery on November 3, 2024. I was told that It will take 30 days for me to receive the check by mail. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE of their business practice. First, the first CR gave out wrong information regarding my credit refund and now they delay in issuing my credit refund because even though I paid my subscription with my credit card, I did not set up renewal by auto-payment with credit card. This is so absurd. I am done with Washington Post and will never do business with this fake newspaper.

If I didn't have to pay $40 a year to…

If I didn't have to pay $40 a year to be able to leave a comment I would be leaving it there. It is mind blowing to me that people still trust sources such as this. Blatantly painting their opinions on every story published. It's not news, it's garbage. This and organizations like it are the problem and what is creating a divide across our nation. They should be ashamed of themselves but ofcourse their not. Even when they lose billions of dollars they just double down and do the same garbage. It's sad this is what is called news now. Trump got shot so it is his fault, not the lunatic democratic policies. Trump saying that is a baseless claim. It's laughable and just the latest of a long string of propaganda they and many like them (all) choose to do nowadays. Does anyone in mainstream news have any integrity anymore? Nope, they specifically say it's their job to control what people think. Well, people need to wake up if they haven't already and read a history book. This leads one way and that's all I will say. Unbelievable.

Fake news

Fake news, you guys take everything out of context. If someone says look the sky is pink during a sunset you can’t say they’re an idiot and think the sky is pink 24/7. Get the analogy?

The WP is a far left propaganda…

The WP is a far left propaganda machine. They spread fals information on a regular basis and publish hate speech against people they don't like. I am not from the US but somehow the algorithm recommends them to me. I am always shocked about what they are publishing.

They said if Trump was one inch shorter…

They said if Trump was one inch shorter he would be obese. Congrats what a discovery. And if they were any stupider they would be a nail in the wall. It’s like saying if you were a 300 pounds heavier you would be overweight. Also it’s like saying if you remove one N from the word bunny and replace it with a d it would spell bundy and if you remove 2 ns and replace it with 2 ds it would spell buddy.

Worst one sided media source!

Worst one sided media out here along with NY TIMES. They don't care about neutral topics, authors or information. All they want to post is information that makes Republicans and trump look bad. To compare Trump to Hitler is a joke and shows how low this immature, childish company will go.
