We have recently come back from another wonderful relaxing break at watermouth cove cottages where clare and her partner can't do enough for you, I can highly recommend watermouth cove cottages for a holiday in north devon with or without a dog and we are looking forward to another visit

Clare is the best Hostess and the accommodation was comfortable, perfect and just right - can’t wait to go and visit again in the summer !!

I have just returned from a lovely couple of nights in Sandpiper Cottage. Both myself and my pupster were super comfortable. It's a lovely cottage with lots of original features, a very comfortable bed (best sleep I've had in ages), comfy sofa and it's super cosy with a lovely log burner for added cosiness.

The views are absolutely beautiful, overlooking Watermouth Castle, the river, and the beach is only a 5 minute walk away (so sea views too from the grounds).

The lovely owner (Clare) makes sure you are totally comfortable and have everything you need for an ideal stay.

I would recommend Sandpiper Cottage, Flo (the dog - who enjoyed the many local walks) and I will no doubt be back again in the near future.

We stayed at Watermouth cove cottages with some friends and our families over new year 2022.Clare and her partner were helpful all the way through our stay, making us comfortable and welcomed. Unfortunately at the end of our stay I managed to lose my car keys, and she went out of her way to assist, helping me look for them around the cottage and even collecting me from the station when I came back a day later with my spare keys to collect the car! All in all they were brilliant and accommodating hosts and the cottages were great value. Would stay again!

We had a great relaxing stay in early January - weather was windy and cold but a cosy log fire made everything warm and comfortable.
Oscar our Goldie enjoyed the fire more than we did 😊

What a wonderful stay at these lovely cottages! Charming houses in a beautiful setting and so close to the sea. We loved every moment of staying here. Also the best hosts I've ever met! Thank you Clare and Luis.

I stayed in one of these lovely cottages in the summer for a week. The hosts were waiting upon arrival and so friendly/hospitable. The cottage was so clean with all the facilities we needed to go self catering. Location is perfect..lovely beaches..walks..pubs..I would definitely recommend.

Clare is a great host and always communicates quickly.
The cottages are traditional and I loved the log burner in mine.
Pets are made very welcome too.

A wonderful stay in a beautiful location. Our host was kind and courteous and couldn’t do enough for us. The cottages are close to amazing walks and beaches. We will be back soon!

We had a lovely week stay the cottage was clean and well equipped in a lovely area . We have stayed near here a few times but the location of the cottage was perfect. Finally Clare was a lovely and helpful host

We found the owner of this delightful holiday retreat to be kind, open and engaging.
A beautiful location with spotlessly clean cottages. Each one in keeping with the history and character of the period.
It’s rare to find genuine gems not just in holiday locations but also in people.
I would highly recommend Watermouth Cove Cottages as an incredible place to rest and relax whilst enjoying Devon at its best.

A really lovely holiday, in a perfect setting, right opposite Watermouth Bay and nextdoor to the Castle. Clare is such a friendly owner. Nothing to much trouble. We stayed in Seaspray. Our Granddaughter had the time of her life playing with children in another cottage and our dog Molly was besotted with Clares dog Red. Happy memories.

The location is fabulous, and if ever these cottages change ownership to someone who gives them the love and care they deserve then I would highly recommend a visit. Sadly, the cottage we stayed in ‘Sandpiper’ was decorated and furnished in an ugly fashion with poor finish and attention to detail. The bathroom was ugly and had a poor layout, it may have just been acceptable in the 1980s, but was certainly not of the standard to be expected now. The cottage was cramped, not spacious as described. The place we sat outside to eat, the only place accessible for my disabled mother, was like a grave yard for cheap plastic garden furniture which looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since last season.
The owner did offer us a change of cottages, but as this was the only one with a walk in shower (it still had quite a step up) that was accessible for my mother this was not an option for us.
The owner also suggested that the problem was mine and that my expectations were too high for ‘17th century cottages’, this is not true as I live in a property of a similar age.
We found the cottage such a depressing space to be in that we left a week early out of our 2 week holiday leaving us considerably out of pocket.
A response to the bizarre comment below from the owner: our issues with the cottages were highlighted with the owner at the time and I do not understand what the owner means that we have not ‘got our way’, our way would have been to have had a lovely holiday in a well presented cottage, this definitely was not the case. If the owner wishes to engage with my lawyers I am happy to provide details. This is a genuine review that reflects our experience during our stay 2 - 8 July 2022. Gaslighting honest reviews is not a good way to conduct a business.

Had a great time here staying in one of the cottages, the surrounding area is beautiful and the little cottage and immediate area was idyllic. Clare was a pleasure to deal with and when plans changed and consequently had to make changes to our booking this was dealt with in an understanding manner. Can't recommend enough, would happily go back to visit again.

We stayed here for 3 months during the October-January winter period. We have nothing but good things to say about Clare, Luis and their lovely place.

The hosts cannot do enough to help you settle in. They showed us the local areas, helped us set up our things and adjust to the flat, and supported us with extra wifi cables so we could connect. The cottage we stayed in was very cosy and incredibly clean! The kitchen was well stocked and all the kitchen equipment was in good condition. A real log fire which you need in the winter months!

The surrounding area is beautiful and just what we wanted - very peaceful and calm. Be aware you'll need a car as the local shops are more than a few minutes walk away.

Overall we had a great time staying there and came away feeling very refreshed. I know in the summer it would be even better, as there is a great outside space for bbqs.
