My experience with my watret engineer…Mr James Murphy
My experience with my watret engineer was absolutely fab.i couldn't have asked for a better engineer.my engineer a Mr James Murphy.was brilliant been to Mt address on a few occasion and has managed to achieve fo me what other engineers failed to do.i had no heating or hot water and he got that done for me.he made all the necessary checks to make sure everything was in working order before he left my home .He has only had to return to fit any parts but always got the job done.he is respectful of my home and me as a person, very curtious, exceptional manners and an absolute pleasure to have in my home.i will only ask that Mr Murphy attend to sort out any problems that might occur in the future.i wouldn't really want another engineer

Useless!
Useless!! I should have known better than to let Watret come on a Friday pm, because that always means they'll not turn up! But, looking at the reviews, it looks like they regularly fail to turn up on any day of the week, which begs the question: why don't management do something to fix this?! And why do councils continue to use them?!
My appointment yesterday was cancelled but, miraculously, they actually called to tell me!
Rescheduled for today, they hadn't showed up by 3.40pm, so I got suspicious and called them: the receptionist confirmed they were definitely coming and would text me when on their way.
I waited 4 hours in total. Add that to the other times they’ve let me down, I think I need to start charging them a waiting fee! To not turn up, and to not even call, is just rude and unprofessional – yet they do it repeatedly!

Absolutely disgusting behaviour and…
Absolutely disgusting behaviour and service by this company!!! Had a broken thermostat, as it was not controlling my heating temperature so been Turing my boiler on and off to control temperature and use of hot water, this company attended my property fixed the thermostat and broke my boiler as it would no longer turned on, stated the would get engineer to come the same day, waiting until 7pm no person come. I called there office to be told no job had been raised and this issue of having no heating or hot water was classed as emergency and therefore to contact in working hours, I am 6 months pregnant and have a disabled child under the age of 7 and have been left in this weather with no heating. I asked for emergency heating appliances and was flatly refused by this company. Absolute disgusting and would not recommended them at all!!! Shameful to leave a vulnerable person in this situation!!

After 3 weeks of having boiler issue…
Never open your door to a “contractor” called Jason he doesn’t know what the hell he is doing and he makes matters worse. So if you get Watret contractors ever coming to fix your boiler and he goes by the name of Jason don’t let him in. He don’t seem to have even read the induction manual of the course.
After 3 weeks of having boiler issue still till today nothing has been resolved and Watret are passing the buck.
None of the contractors read prior notes or do they come with relevant equipment ie a ladder. They also lie and say they attended when they didn’t and attempt to “fix” issue but make them far worse. 2 engineers came today one goes by the name of Jason and still hasnt completed he’s level 1 on he’s course and the other was just clueless. My boiler was working on and off this morning but after they left it’s completely messed up and not working at all. This is something which happened to us in 2021 and again now it’s the same problem. I still haven’t been told what’s going to happen next or when they’re going to come out again to fix it. And what’s worse. I have an 8 year old daughter. But of course they don’t care.
No again they said they’re changing more parts. And they refuse to give me a new boiler. They haven’t yet figured out that it’s all the changing of parts in making things worse.

Engineer Disrespectful
Engineer did not show up until Monday morning after an emergency call on Friday 10 pm.
He was coughing outside the door. Came in with no mask.
I already have the flu.
He was so rude! “ what’s wrong- it’s winter and people lose heat and sh**. The pressure on the boiler kept dropping. He put it back up. Attitude as though I should not have called.
I’m left disgusted about how he spoke to me. Bad for business.
How do I complain.

If I could leave 0 star review I would…
If I could leave 0 star review I would I am a tenant of NHHG I called out Watret as an emergency over the weekend due to having no water coming through the hot water tap throughout my whole property. An engineer turned up and said he needed to see the cylinder which is in a cupboard. When he saw the cupboard he said he can’t do anything as it’s not clear I asked if I could take the items out it would’ve taken not even 3 mins to give him access. He told me no he has jobs all over london and can’t wait around. To then sit in his van for 10 mins (more than the time it would’ve taken for me to clear the cupboard) this is not the first time I’ve had this issue he was totally unprofessional and rude. I had this issue last year and was left 4 1/2 weeks without any hot water to my home. It’s minus degrees out here therefore I can not bathe in cold water and to keep boiling the kettle to fill the bath is unacceptable with the rising cost of living. It seems every time I have a gas safety check within a week I’m left with no hot water so either the engineers are purposely messing up the system to get additional call outs (being as my safety check was only a week before, just like last year) or they clearly aren’t qualified to perform tasks. Unlike some I do not find it acceptable not to be able to wash myself everyday twice a day. NHHG need to change contractors as clearly Watret are not fit for purpose. Engineers very rude and unprofessional.

Unacceptable
My mother and father woke up to no Heating this morning so contacted St Albans district council which got through to Watret and spoke to a guy who informed her that they don't deal with St Albans District Council and told her to call the regular number 866100 and there was no answer, she tried continuously so contacted a friend who gave her the emergency number 819256 ,eventually my brother got through to them at 12:30pm he informed them of the problem and explained that they are pensioners and severely vulnerable he was informed that they would be in contact with my mother and father sooner rather than later i turned up at 4 and no one had contacted them,
I tried myself to contact them and several times the call was cut off with out any answer between myself and my wife we called over 15 times just to try and find out what was happening and how long it was likely to be,
Approx 17:45 an engineer turned up and reset the boiler which fixed the problem unfortunately i didn't get his name but he was very helpful and had had to come and help the guy that was on call in this area,
I totally except due to the cold weather that there is going to be a lot more call outs for emergencies but I'm disgusted by no answer on the emergency number and how long it took to contact severely vulnerable people or should i say did NOT !!! contact .

Today an engineer named Frank attended my property and was very professional, efficient and as well as identifying and solving the problem with my iced pipes as soon as he arrived, also got all of my radiators working to full capacity, Frank is a brilliant plumber and went above and beyond, he was only at property for about Twenty minutes, he is a real asset to WATRET.

I am so sick of the rudeness you that you get when you have to call them. This morning I had to call Watret and when my call was answered the person didn’t mention her name and when I politely to her she didn’t mention her name to me she barked back like an angry dog “coz I didn’t tell you my name” I don’t know why my housing keep contracting all these works because they are rude and waste ppl’s time. That’s only the tip of the iceberg if I had to make all my complaints about them I’d be on here all day

Worst company ever
Worst company ever! Avoid at all costs!
Unfortunately we were stuck with these people as they ‘work’ for housing association. Rude, incompetent, unreliable - a bunch of cowboys basically…
They left our family with no hot water and heating for 10 days, when they originally came boiler was working but faulty - after first visit the boiler not longer worked and it took them 4 visits, including a cancellation to rebook. They said they were waiting for a part - and even though they had the part supposedly needed they still made us wait for a week- we still waiting…
I cannot express strongly enough how bad these people are and advice to keep away from them - so why are housing associations like Notting Hill Genesis contracting them? Something dodgy must be going on and someone must be making good money out of tenants misery…

Your Service and attitude of Your Staff is Consistently Appalling … has been for years
16:40 Wednesday 24 August 2022
A man appeared at my door stating he was from Watret here to do a safety check on my boiler …
I politely declined stating it had already been done and audited about 2 weeks ago
He told me that whoever had been here weren’t allowed to touch my boiler only Watret are authorised to do that
I said no … my Landlord authorised for the Service and Safety Check and the work had subsequently been audited … he continually demanded entry
I explained that with no disrespect I don’t want Watret to touch the boiler as every time they come here I have a disaster and have had two electrical fires in the wiring to the Boiler subsequent to there last two visits
He told me he didn’t want to hear it
I tried to explain I have documentation proving the service and safety check had been done but he kept insisting he was coming in
I informed him he wasn’t
I asked him repeatedly to leave snd told him I was going to call the Police … he told me to call the Police and still refused to Leave and again tried to gain entry to my house
He repeatedly refused to leave and told me I’m rude … really!
Then demanded to take a photo of my front door to prove he’d been here
I refused … and asked if I could take a photo of his ID … he refused …
No appointment … no name … no ID … no mask … no entry!
Let me be clear … under no circumstances will I ever provide entry to anyone under these circumstances
I asked him to leave several times to be told it isn't my property and he can come in because my Landlord had sent him
He became irate and rang to report me to his office and told me to be quiet … the woman he spoke to addressed him as Recall
This is not ok!
Said woman stated, “Just leave it Recall I’ll report her”.
I have reported the incident to Hertfordshire Police … their advice … if he returns or this happens again call 999 immediately … advice I will follow … in the meantime … the Police have put a car into the area to look for him
There was no vehicle in sight … and said man eventually left on foot having been told repeatedly to ‘get off my property’ and repeatedly refused to do so
What is wrong with Origin HA sending people to my door who behave like that … it’s illegal!

My shiny new boiler.
Just had my new boiler installed by an engineer called Gerry from Watret. A no fuss, hard worker, really pleased. Thanks. Their electrician arrived the following day, as promised, to finish the boiler wiring and to install the new digital thermostat. Again, no fuss or bother. All in all, very impressed.

I have had many problems with Watret…
I have had many problems with Watret over the years due to my landlord Housing for Women HA using them as contractors for our district heating and other repairs. Our heating/hot water provider Switch2 is also fully aware of all the issues we continue to have with this company.
With Watret you get no shows, misdiagnosis, wrong repairs, incomplete repairs, no repairs to name a few. Then when you complain, both Watret and H4W start gaslighting and lying, they lie for each over and cover up for each other. Hopefully new laws will come in where tenants get more protection.
If you are a tenant and have problems with this company, make sure you have a witness when they visit because if you complain or raise a concern where they didn’t do the job properly, they will turn arrogant, intimidating, rude and disrespectful towards you, they will treat you like you are stupid and talk down down to you. Especially if they know you’re a single woman, home alone. And they will lie. They will say one thing to your face and another thing in a report. It doesn’t matter if you have pictures, they will lie.
This company should be ashamed especially Derek Watret’s director who had the audacity not only to lie but to mock me while lying and proceeding to laugh with H4W’s repair manager Elly and an engineer in front of my neighbours, openly talking about my legal disrepair case with no care in the world about confidentiality and data protection. Over 20 minutes they stood outside my neighbours homes, in front of my neighbours.
FYI the thermostat has been 65 degrees since last summer not 48 degrees.

I have been waiting to have a new…
I have been waiting to have a new bathroom radiator put on my bathroom wall since 26/02/2022.
1st appointment on 26/02/2022 Engineer turned up without the new radiator thinking I already had it at my property? So had to reschedule.
2nd appointment on 14/03/2022 Engineer turned up at 7.45am when no one was in at the time as they are supposed to attend between 8am - 1pm and not before. The person who was going to wait in for me as I was at work that day saw the Watret engineer drive off down the road at 7.50am but when they rang up Watret on my behalf to try and get him to turn back the office refused as he was already on his way to another job so would have to book another appointment again.
3rd appointment on 21/03/2022 the Watret engineer was supposed to attend my property between 1pm - 6pm with a new bathroom radiator but after ringing Watret to make sure he was still coming out to me I was told he was not coming out now as he was dealing with an emergency gas leak somewhere else instead. So would have to book another appointment AGAIN.
4th rescheduled appointment on 31/03/2022 Watret Engineer was supposed to fix a new bathroom radiator on my wall between 1pm - 6pm but received a phone call from Watret Engineer at 12:07pm saying he could not come out to me to do the job as he noticed the new bathroom radiator he picked up had a crack in it so would have to reschedule the appointment YET Again.
This situation is getting beyond a joke now and I am getting extremely upset and fed up with all the delays and excuses this company has given me regarding doing the actual job. Surely it can’t be that hard of a job to do? Instead of making excuses each time they are due to come out and do it.
I will be speaking to the complaints team at L&Q about the awful experience I have had with this company I don’t see why I should have to pay out full rent each month when I can’t even get minor repairs done to my property!!!

Dreadful treatment. i have been waiting for Watret to get…
i have been waiting for Watret to get back to me following their visit on 4th february. Since then i have called them on: 17th february, 21 february, 16th March and today 21st February.
I have a disability, and the heated towel rail in my bathroom is about to fall off from the wall. They said they could not get two small parts to secure it, and would escalate this repair.
i am still waiting for some action to be taken, even a phone call to let me know when action will be taken over their so called ESCALATION.
i need to use this rail to keep my towels dry, as i need to use a shower often, due to my condition.
i live alone and have a chronic disability which affects my joints.
The customer service i recieved today on the phone was dreadful. The woman sounded entirely disinterested and said she would get someone to HOPEFULLY look at this issue, and more or less put the phone down on me.
Appalling customer service, no sign of response, no sign of escalation occurring.
Dreadful way to treat a disabled tenant. Their 'duty of care' is severly lacking!
