Webafrica cannot upgrade my speed

Webafrica cannot upgrade my speed, i mean its more business for them so i dont understand why it takes so long and dont even mention their support team who are as effective as an ant. Their support team is just people getting paid for doing nothing. I am not considering another service provider coz WebAfrica sucks.

Hi Nkosi

We recognise how frustrating it is when you’re ready to upgrade your speed but are left waiting for clarity on what should be a straightforward request. We also hear your frustration with the support experience and the feeling that you have not been getting the level of assistance you expect from us.

We’ve arranged for our Sales team to review your account and contact you as soon as possible to confirm what upgrade options are available, explain any requirements or limitations, and guide you through the next steps.

We appreciate you allowing us to look into this properly. We’ll use your feedback on the support experience to identify where we need to improve, while our Sales team focuses on getting you a clear way forward.

Dear Vuma / Webafrica/ Mweb Customer…

Dear Vuma / Webafrica/ Mweb Customer Support,

I am extremely frustrated with the level of service I have received regarding an ongoing fibre connectivity issue.

The most disappointing part of this experience is the complete lack of effective customer support. There is seemingly no reliable number to call, and when I eventually manage to obtain a contact number, the line does not even ring. The online chat service has also been extremely ineffective and has done very little to resolve my issue.

This problem has been ongoing for some time, yet I continue to be the one chasing Vuma and Webafrica for updates and solutions. This is completely unacceptable. I have made my payment, so I should not have to make countless follow-ups simply to receive the service I have already paid for.

What makes this even more disappointing is that my family and I have six fibre services with you. We should be treated as valued customers, especially considering the amount of business we have given your company.

Instead, the experience has been the opposite. My internet service is not working despite payment being made, and there appears to be very little urgency because the payment has already been received.

Customer service should not end once the customer's money has been collected.

I am therefore requesting that this matter be escalated urgently to someone who can actually take ownership of the issue and provide a proper resolution. I do not want another generic response telling me to contact support or use the chat service. I have already attempted these channels repeatedly.

If this level of service continues, I will seriously consider moving our fibre services to another provider. There must be competitors in the market who understand the importance of retaining customers and providing reliable support.

I would appreciate a clear explanation of:

1. Why my fibre service remains unavailable despite payment being made.
2. What has been done so far to resolve the issue.
3. Why I have had to make repeated follow-ups instead of receiving proactive communication.
4. When my service will actually be restored.
5. What steps will be taken to prevent this from happening again.

I expect this complaint to be treated seriously and escalated to a senior representative who can take accountability for resolving the matter.

I am not asking for anything unreasonable. I simply expect the service that I have paid for and a reasonable level of customer support.

Your live-agent support is extremely frustrating. Agents either take up to four hours to respond or do not respond at all, and in many cases, no meaningful feedback is provided.

I am currently dealing with an agent who simply stopped responding without providing any explanation or update. This is unacceptable, especially when I am trying to resolve an issue with a service that I have already paid for.

The live-agent portal has repeatedly failed to provide effective assistance. Instead of receiving support, I have to continuously follow up, wait for hours, and go the extra mile just to get a response for a service I am paying for.

I look forward to receiving a proper response and resolution.

I would never recommend Webafrica to anyone.

I would strongly advise anyone considering Webafrica to think twice. This has genuinely been one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.

For approximately four to five months, I have repeatedly reported problems with my internet speed. I have provided screenshots and speed test results showing the issue, yet I have continuously been sent from one person to another with no actual resolution.

On three separate occasions I was told that the matter would be escalated and that a technical team would contact me. Each time, I had to follow up repeatedly before anything happened.

Eventually, I was told a technician would be sent to my home. Webafrica apparently uses an external company for these call-outs rather than their own technicians. That company contacted me only to tell me that I was “not in their area” and therefore they could not assist me.

I live in central Pretoria.

When I questioned how they could possibly appoint a technician who does not service my area, there was no proper explanation. They simply said they could not help me. Since then, nobody from Webafrica has followed up or made any attempt to resolve the problem, despite numerous messages from me.

Their WhatsApp support system is another nightmare. You simply go around in circles, struggling to reach someone who can actually take responsibility for the problem.

And then there is the cancellation process.

Trying to cancel my service has been almost as difficult as trying to get the internet fixed. I initially submitted my cancellation at the end of August, but Webafrica refused to accept it. I have now spent months simply trying to get a cancellation processed properly.

How can it possibly take this much effort just to leave an internet service provider?

If your internet goes down — and based on my experience, there is a very good chance you will eventually have problems — do not expect meaningful support, accountability or urgency.

Months of reporting the same problem.
Multiple promises of technical assistance.
A technician company that cannot service my area.
No follow-up.
Endless WhatsApp conversations.
And an unbelievably difficult cancellation process.

I would never recommend Webafrica to anyone.

Avoid the frustration and choose another provider.

Hi Lenelle,

We genuinely understand why you’ve reached this point of frustration. You’ve been reporting the same speed issue for four to five months, providing speed tests and screenshots, following up on multiple escalations and even making yourself available for a technician visit, only to be told the appointed company could not service your area. Having to keep chasing for progress after all of that is not the experience you should have had with Webafrica.

We can see that our Cancellation team has already managed to connect with you earlier today to address your concerns and assist you directly. We also don’t want to send you back through the same basic troubleshooting you’ve already been doing for months.

To help the Technical team get more useful information from the ongoing speed issue, if you’re willing to run a few targeted checks during the period when the slowdown is happening, they can help narrow down where the degradation is occurring:

* **Test via Ethernet:** If possible, connect a computer directly to the router with an Ethernet cable and run a speed test. This removes Wi-Fi interference as a variable and helps establish whether the issue affects the underlying connection.
* **Compare peak and normal periods:** Run the same speed test at a time when the connection is performing poorly and again when it is normal. Recording the time, download, upload, and latency gives the team something measurable to compare.
* **Test more than one device:** If the slowdown occurs across multiple devices, particularly when connected by Ethernet, this helps rule out an issue isolated to a single device.
* **Run a PingPlotter or WinMTR test:** If the issue is occurring while you are online, a 10 to 15-minute trace to an affected destination can help identify where latency or packet loss begins. This is more useful for an ongoing degradation issue than another basic speed test alone.

If you’re able to provide those results, along with the email address linked to your Webafrica profile, we can ensure the information is available for the relevant Technical team to assess alongside the history of the issue.

We recognise that you’ve already put a great deal of effort into trying to get this resolved. The aim here is to avoid making you repeat steps unnecessarily and instead provide information that can help narrow down what is actually causing the ongoing degradation.

Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew

Loyal customer for 5 years and wanted to charge R999 cancellation fee!

Loyal customer for 5 years, and they want to charge a R999 cancellation fee? How is this even possible when it comes to the CPA? Pathetic. And Sindisiwe couldn't even produce any documented proof that I had agreed to that in the first place, and was very short / rude with me.

Worst Experience you could imagine

Worst Experience you could imagine. Been 45 days and I still have no wifi in our office. Daily phone calls for the past week. Staff are completely unhelpful. They always are the wrong department and try and re connect you to the correct person and simply put down the call. Useless support team with no visible and clear method of communication. Would do everything possible to stay clear of using them as a service provider.

Shocking customer service

No response on the WhatsApp number; no number exists to call and speak to a human being. Customer service = non existent. I've had intermittent connectivity for 2 weeks with no resolution in sight. Like the government, I'm paying for a service that isn't being provided. I've had to re-open cases because - God only knows why - my cases keep getting closed and marked as "resolved" while I'm still waiting for someone to help me. WORST SERVICE PROVIDER EVER.

Webafrica incorrectly billed me, refused to help, and then sent the disputed account to debt collectors

PLEASE, PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE SIGNING UP WITH WEBAFRICA
Please be extremely careful before signing up with Webafrica. Do your research and read other customers' experiences first.
I was a customer for more than three years. When I moved, I gave the required cancellation notice in writing and confirmed that I wanted the cancellation to proceed.
Webafrica continued billing me anyway.
I have repeatedly provided them with written proof of my cancellation. They simply ignore it! They continued pursuing charges that were incorrectly added to my account and eventually handed the disputed account over to debt collectors.
Now, after referring the matter to debt collection, Webafrica is refusing to engage with me further and simply tells me to deal with the debt collector.
I have had to escalate the matter through external dispute-resolution and consumer-protection channels just to try to resolve charges that should never have been added to my account.
Please, please be careful. Do your research before giving this company your banking details. I deeply regret ever signing up with Webafrica and would strongly recommend choosing another service provider.

POOR SERVICE , POOR COMMUNICATION, WRONGLY DEBITED!

POOR POOR POOR SERVICE from WebAfrica team. I have been in contact with the following agents the past week ( ZAAKIRAH , GILLIAN, LEHLOHONOLO, THAAQIB, KHANGELANI, NICHOLAS, ASHMIKA, SISEKO, CONSTANCE, BRIDGET, ANSAAR). Not one of your agents can assist me with my account. Every time I get transferred to a new department and have to explain EVERYTHING OVER AND OVER AGAIN. TWO OF THE AGENTS ENDED THE CAHT WITHOUT ASSISTING MY QUERY. Your communication is SHOCKING. No option to call, no offices to visit, WhatsApp chats that take hours for response from agents. I've been a loyal client for 3 yrs and now when I move homes you guys are unable to assist me. My account has been wrongly debited, I haven't even received my new product , I have given back my old rooter AND YOU ARE STILL TAKING MY MONEY ?????? I don't have active WIFI at the moment. What a disgrace. I have evidence of all the chats and all your calls are recorded and will take this further if it is not addressed urgently!

SHOCKING AND EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL!

During the signing up process I changed my mind and cancelled my intention to proceed. My order was then put on hold. I made it very clear with the same sales agent on an actual telephone call as well as a WhatsApp chat that I did NOT want to proceed. VERY CLEAR instructions were given not to proceed. Despite that, the money was taken out of my account. I was promised by the same sales agent it would be refunded. 20 DAYS LATER it has still NOT been refunded.
Trying to get hold of someone to respond to resolve this has proved to be extremely difficult.
I now see by the reviews this happens constantly!

I made an order from the 5th of August…

I made an order from the 5th of August with an ONT already installed by a previous tenant and was assured it would be short because of the installation already being there. Each and every day I’ve had to deal with incompetent agents who tell me different stories daily. But till this day I’m still not connected. I work from home and communicated the agency, but it’s almost a month now. Incompetence throughout.

I don’t see where I can reply to your response so I’ll just update my review.

What I was told today, I was told last week Thursday. I sent the pictures on Thursday and was told to wait 24-48 hours, today is that 48 hours but I’m being told to wait another 48 hours

Hello Babalwa

We understand how frustrating this delay has been, particularly as you work from home and were expecting a quicker connection because an ONT was already installed at the property. We also recognise how difficult it is when you receive different information while trying to get a clear answer.

Our team assisted with an update earlier today. Further investigation confirmed that a **Circuit Release escalation** has been logged, with the requested photos attached. This is required because the address still needs to be entirely cleared from the previous ISP before we can proceed with the new order placed with Webafrica for the same address.

The photos were submitted to show that the existing ONT has no buttons, following the instruction received to check the buttons of the device. We have also been advised that the ONT's MAC address is required. The Circuit Release request and supporting photos have now been submitted, and we’re currently awaiting feedback.

The expected turnaround for this feedback is **24–48 hours**. We do, however, do our best to get things sorted ASAP.
Once the circuit is released, we can proceed with the order for your address.

We know this has taken longer than expected, and we’re pushing to get the outstanding steps completed so we can get you connected as soon as possible.

Find us in your app store by searching “Webafrica” and download the app today to track your order status.✨ (v2.1.15)

Morning Annamarie

We can understand why you’re so frustrated. Spending two hours trying to get assistance, being transferred between teams and ultimately having to give up without your issue being resolved is a hugely disappointing experience. We also understand how stressful it must have been to then rely on your son overseas to help you sort it out yourself.

The experience you’ve described, particularly the delays, dropped interaction and lack of follow-through after being transferred, is not the level of support we want to provide. You shouldn’t have to spend hours waiting or repeat yourself just to get assistance.

We genuinely appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback. It gives us a clear indication of where the support journey fell short and where we need to do better.

Very Dissapointing customer service

Very easy to get through to Sales when you want to sign up, upgrade, or make a payment.

Very difficult to get through to Customer Service/Billing when you actually need help with your account.

There is no straightforward direct line to speak to someone about billing or cancellation, yet cancellation fees can be higher than the subscription itself.

An agent confirmed in writing that once my service was active at my new address, Billing would review and credit charges relating to the period I was no longer at the old address. When I followed up as instructed, Billing told me my account was not eligible — directly contradicting the written communication I had received.

I then spent hours on WhatsApp being transferred between agents and repeatedly explaining the same issue. I requested a phone call several times and struggled to get one.

The experience leaves the impression that getting assistance is easy when you're giving Webafrica money, but considerably harder when you're asking them to resolve an account problem.

Very disappointing customer service.

Morning Khwezi

We understand why this experience has been so disappointing. Being able to reach Sales easily, but then struggling to get support with an account issue, is understandably frustrating. Having to spend hours on WhatsApp, repeat your situation to multiple agents, and still receive conflicting information about a credit would only add to that frustration.

We’d value the opportunity to review what happened, including the written communication you received and the subsequent Billing feedback. Please email **[customer-reviews@webafrica.com](mailto:customer-reviews@webafrica.com)** with the review information, a link or image of the review, and your registered Webafrica email address so we can securely verify your details and investigate further.

Hi Dean

We can absolutely understand why this experience left you so frustrated. Having to explain the same issue repeatedly, especially after being transferred between departments, is exhausting. You shouldn’t have to carry the conversation history from one agent to the next to get the help you need, particularly after being a Webafrica customer for four years.

We’re glad our Support team was able to assist you earlier this morning and arrange the next step. A site visit has been scheduled for 31/08/2026, and we can see that the appointment has already been booked and confirmed with you. We’re hoping this visit provides the further checks needed at your premises to move the matter towards a proper resolution.

We also hear your feedback about the lack of continuity between agents. Having to repeat yourself over and over is not the experience we want our customers to have, and your feedback highlights an area where we need to do better.

Thank you for sticking with us for the past four years and for being detailed about your experience. We genuinely appreciate the opportunity to make this right.

Hi Maya

We understand how frustrating it is when your WiFi is barely usable, especially when you’ve already tried rebooting and still aren’t getting anywhere. You shouldn’t feel like you’re being given the same step repeatedly without getting closer to a solution.

Since the reboot hasn’t helped, here are a few checks that can help narrow down where the issue may be:

Test another device: Check whether the slow speed affects all your devices or just one.
Move closer to the router: If the connection improves when you’re nearby, the issue may be related to WiFi coverage or interference.
Check your cables: Make sure the fibre and power cables are securely connected and free from any visible damage.
Run a speed test: If possible, run a speed test while connected to the affected WiFi and keep the results handy. This helps our team determine whether the issue is with the fibre connection or the WiFi itself.

If the problem is still ongoing, please reach out to us via Live Chat by clicking the chat bubble at the bottom right of the Webafrica website. Our team can check the connection from our side and take you through the next steps.

We really do want to get you back to a connection that you can actually rely on.

I upgraded my fibre line from 75Mbps/25Mbps to 100Mbps/100Mbps two days ago. Since then, my line hasn't been upgraded, but worse, I'm now only getting 64Mbps download and 21Mbps upload, which is less than what I was getting on my old, cheaper package. Yet I'm supposed to be a "premium client".

I messaged WebAfrica support to get this fixed and was kept on hold and passed around with no resolution. No one could explain why my speeds dropped or give me a timeline for the upgrade to actually go through. (Do note it indicates and it has been confirmed via WebAfrica support that the upgrade is complete on their end) I've paid for a service I'm not receiving, and support has been unable or unwilling to help.

I shouldn't have to chase this through WhatsApp bots and hold music to get what I'm already paying for. I'd like this escalated to someone who can actually action a line speed correction, and some explanation for why my speeds are currently below my previous package.

Hi Dylan,

We understand how frustrating it must be to request an upgrade to a faster package only to experience slower speeds than before, while also struggling to get clear answers from support. Feeling passed around when you're simply looking for a resolution is certainly not the experience we want for our customers.

We'd like the opportunity to investigate the matter further and ensure the appropriate team reviews both the line speed and upgrade status. Kindly email customer-reviews@webafrica.com with the review details, a link or screenshot of the review, and your registered Webafrica email address so we can securely verify your information and assist further.
Once the required information has been received, our team will review the matter and respond as soon as possible, with a general turnaround time of up to 24 hours.

Warm regards,
Webafrica Crew

Terrible

Terrible, mind blowing atrocious services. You must wait forever for a stupid WhatsApp agent that never knows what they doing. Horrible service, horrible customer service, horrible communication, and most of all just a pure rubbish experience. Everything a 24/48h saga for you always to go back to get an update to find out nothing was ever done.

Hi Alexander,

We understand how disappointing and frustrating this experience has been, and it is clear that the support you received did not meet your expectations. Feeling as though issues are not being followed through on can have a significant impact on your overall experience, and this is not the way we want our clients to feel.

We see that assistance has been provided. However, we acknowledge that your support experience fell short of the standard we aim to deliver. Your concerns regarding communication, response times, and the handling of your queries have been noted.
Your feedback will be shared with our Service Quality Team for review and improvement to help ensure that customer expectations are consistently met and that opportunities to enhance the support journey are identified.

SHOCKINGLY UNPROFESSIONAL

SHOCKINGLY UNPROFESSIONAL, UNAUTHORISED WITHDRAWAL OF MONEY.

We enquired about Webafrica services and opted to proceed with one of their packages. Before receiving the router or having anything installed, we were made aware of the cancellation policy and penalty charged once the services have been initiated and elected to not to proceed with their services anymore. We had already been debited for the installation fee, which they tendered to refund us, and they confirmed cancellation of the contract before internet connection had been provided, and that no penalty would accordingly be payable.

Of their own accord, however, Webafrica thereafter went and opened another contract in our name and proceeded to debit our account with a further R400, sans our consent or even our knowledge. Based on other reviews, they seem to do this frequently.

Now that this has happened, it has been very difficult to get any assistance from the consultants.

UPDATE: 03/09/2026 NOT A SINGLE CONSULTANT IS WILLING TO ASSIST. Our fibre line is still being blocked by WebAfrica so that we cannot move over to a different service provider. We keep being referred to the WhatsApp chat line for “assistance” with the cancellation of the product, but no one on the WhatsApp line ever assists. They just transfer you to another agent.
WORST SERVICES.
