I applied for a web content writer role through LinkedIn Easy Apply. After my application was reviewed, I was contacted via a LinkedIn message and asked to continue the process through WhatsApp. From there, all communication, including a group chat “interview” setup was handled only on WhatsApp, with no official company email involved.
After 2 chat questions, I was asked to complete a test by going through shared links, but when I requested that the process be done via an official email for transparency, my request was denied. I was told I could “stop here” if I felt uncomfortable.
The lack of professional communication channels made the process feel untrustworthy.
Overall, the recruitment approach felt unprofessional and evasive. Candidates should proceed with caution and ensure there are official communication channels in place before engaging further.
