I have never experienced such a humiliating and poorly handled situation.
I visited Whaley Bridge Well Pharmacy to collect essential heart medication. Before arriving, I called the pharmacy and politely asked whether, when staff were free, would someone be able to talk at the door because I had my dog with me. She is very fragile and cannot be left alone. It was not safe or appropriate to tie her up outside, where she could have been stolen or attacked by another dog.
The member of staff who answered the phone was immediately rude and challenged me about why I had not left my dog at home. Her tone was entirely inappropriate and did not reflect the standards one would expect from the Well Pharmacy brand. She then passed me to a manager. When I asked the manager who I was speaking to, the call was abruptly disconnected.
I waited until the queue inside had cleared and called again, despite the pharmacy now being empty, I was cut off once again.
Shortly afterwards, I saw a Well Pharmacy employee arrive. I explained my situation politely, and she said she would ask someone to come outside to assist me, as she was from another pharmacy.
Around five minutes later, I saw that same employee walking by the bus stop.
The impression this left was that she had been sent away (via the back door?!) rather than being allowed to help, leaving me standing at the door feeling completely humiliated and treated like a nuisance.
I contacted my partner at work to see whether they could assist by calling, as I had already walked a considerable distance. The pharmacy staff were also very rude to them.
At no point was I aggressive, abusive, or unreasonable. I was simply asking for a practical and compassionate solution so that I could collect heart medication without putting my dog at risk.
Fortunately, I eventually arranged for the pet shop to look after my dog. I was then able to collect my prescription and leave.
After using Well Pharmacy for many years, this appalling experience has completely destroyed my trust in the company. I have removed the pharmacy from my digital prescription delivery arrangements and transferred to Boots instead.
I would also strongly urge management to read the recent Google reviews, as they appear to raise wider concerns about customer service from the team working there.
I left Whaley Bridge that day feeling isolated, embarrassed, and let down. The treatment I received was shameful, particularly given that I was polite throughout and was requesting medication that is important to my health.
I would urge a Well manager to review the very short conversation if calls are recorded.
Shameful customer service.
This issue has been raised directly with hello@ well.
I just thought the issue needs addressing for others who also have similarities in circumstances.
Rubbish company take forever to answer medication not delivered
Avoid unless you want to run out of medicine with no reply from them. They have the worst customer service I have ever encountered. If, like me, you are forced to endure the NHS only issuing one month prescription at a time then avoid this service. They have now had a prescription for 10 days and it has not yet been dispatched. Have they not got the medicine? Is there an issue? Who knows. They have AI bot responding which says it will pass to a team but never does. No contact. No medicine.

easy site to use, and quick service which saves me from having to visit my local chemist only to find my medication has not been processed.

Nearly always problem free and when it’s not they deal with the problem (usually caused by the doctors surgery) quickly and efficiently. If you chat with them they answer quickly.

Delivery fine, tele staff good, only downside was having to type in every Item on our prescriptions and make sure we found the right item
