The opposite of “customer service”
Multiple phone calls with this company, trying to get a recurring mistake on their part straightened out. No matter what I do or who I talk to, it still doesn’t get fixed. This last time, the rep said that she wanted a supervisor to take over, to resolve the issue. This supposed supervisor was useless, couldn’t understand the issue, kept putting me on very long holds without telling me that she was going to, etc. After an hour of this nonsense, I did something I almost never do and asked for her employee ID number; she said that she couldn’t give it! I would bet money that their mistake still isn’t fixed and that I will need to call them yet again. They simply don’t know what they’re doing and probably don’t care.

Y’all alway call at dinner time your terrible my doctor of 23 years isn’t with y’all you have very few of any kind of doctors in network y’all don’t have right to call me and as consumer to set up a vital sign check over the phone. Patient is in charge of that with he or she’s only doctor never in my life have I ever had an insurance company call me for something like that until last night very inappropriate.
Wellcare: Worst Medicare Advantage Plan Ever
Wellcare by Allwell is the UNDISPUTED WORST health insurance there is, in my opinion. I had a Medicare Advantage plan with them for 14 months, but it was a decided DISadvantage. They seemed to take pleasure in denying me every benefit to which I was entitled. They repeatedly failed to reimburse me for out-of-pocket expenses, and refused to let me see the excellent doctor, who served as my PCP for a whole year under a previous plan. Instead, they directed me to a doctor who proved to be the worst doctor I ever had in all my 66 years. I had a $0.00 copay for emergency room visits, but I made a single ER visit and they tried to stick me with a bill of $120.
To top that off, they insisted on perennially forcing upon me gigantic boxes of “medically tailored meals” that made me gag at the sight of them. Receiving the first box, I immediately called to opt out. I even put in grievances for this, telling the grievance counselors that being elderly and disabled, being forced to handle and discard these huge boxes was a liability to my health and wellbeing. They did not listen, turning my doorstep into their veritable dumping ground for months. So, if you need good health insurance, DON’T get Wellcare by Allwell. They will worry you, aggravate you, even burden you with unwanted garbage, till you die prematurely of a stroke or heart attack.
I honestly would not have selected you…
I honestly would not have selected you for my provider if I had known your customer service personnel speak English with a heavy accent. The first person's accent was so thick I gave up. You also declined my drug because you said it was not approved by the FDA but was approved in 2021, so your database is not up-to-date. Which is disturbing in and of itself. Also, I asked your representative if you have a plan to cover the drug I need; her only response was that the window to switch had closed. I am well aware of that, but I wanted to know for next year; she had absolutely no idea. So why couldn't she just enter the drug name and look it up? I am so very sorry I switched to your plan.
What are you doing to improve your…
What are you doing to improve your dismally horrid reviews? This is not a plan anyone should consider. They have totally tanked in less than 2 years. Look elsewhere!!! There are great plans out there.
A Zero.
Elderly parent with a Wellcare Part D plan. Some Rx were denied coverage (typical). Called in to a) make sure there would be no break in drug coverage even if they don't cover it, and b) deduce if it would be worth it to file a drug authorization request. It's for a common glaucoma drug by the way, not a huge deal. The phone support is an abysmal. Foreign based, difficult to understand and completely lost/incapable. After suffering through the support member fumbling around, they simply disconnect the call.
Terrible customer service.
This insurance company is is totally disorganized. I am so glad I found out another reason why I will not only leave this insurance company will never recommend to any of my friends and as a nurse practitioner anybody that asked me I will tell him that it is a horrible company to deal with on all levels.
Fortunately, this is not a serious illness. Can’t imagine what would happen if I really needed them there are other companies that are five-star that offer much better benefits, and customer service. Stay away from this company they do not stand up to what they offer as an insurance company.
The Wellcare Healthy rewards program is almost impossible to access. Portal down December 2022. According to the representative I talk to today at the healthy rewards program. She stated that the portal was down in Dec and would be up in mid January 2023. She also stated that according to Medicare guidelines, since I did not document my two events, that would give me rewards in Nov and Dec2022 I could no longer get these rewards which total $70!
That, according to Medicare guidelines, it was too late to get these monetary rewards. I explained to her and she agreed that the website was down in January. I also told her that I had left a phone message at the healthy rewards program without anyone calling me back..
The rewards included $50 for wellness exam by my physician and $20 for a flu shot. This is ridiculous if the portal is down and they don’t return your phone calls how are you to document your events to get the reward. I think someone needs to look into this at Medicare and so far I just feel this is on some level fraud If we can’t we able to get these rewards for
Just because we are seniors, we are not senile and stupid. I think that they are on some level taking advantage of us. I would never recommend this to any of my friends and since I’m a nurse practitioner if anybody asked me, I definitely would never recommend this company offering something but not delivering and poor customer service.

I spent almost half a day trying to navigate the quite difficult website looking for providers. After several calls to doctors names I found listed ON THEIR WEBSITE as providers, I made an appointment with one of them, only to get a call back a couple of days later telling me the doctor didn't accept my insurance. I tried googling another doctor's office that was listed, to find that office was no longer in business. When I called the company, they offered to send me - by snail mail! - a list of their providers in the state. Never mind that it must be huge (I live in California), but I am not aware I can go to any doctor in the entire state - I mean my particular plan is not even offered at other places in the state, so what's the point? Since it's January, I'm assuming the website has - or at least can be - updated more recently than the paper book. Is it so difficult to keep the website updated? I could really use easier navigation, too, but I would settle for just correct information.

Signed up for Medicare Plan D with WellCare and sorry I did. Ordered a tier 1 drug and it cost more with WellCare than without their insurance! Will be switching as soon as Medicare opens up in December. For now I will be paying for prescriptions out of pocket and avoid paying more with WellCare.
My Representative Randall
My Representative Randall, he was very Awesome, Professional, and Hard worker, he helped me find a doctor who is under my medical coverage. He contacted me to helped which he kept his words of calling me back. I'm giving him not just 5 stars but thousand stars for his help and.
Worst insurance in America
Every single time I had to use the insurance there was a problem! I either had to get prior authorization, an extra service or 2, or go through an appeal. Also, I was told that I could get reimbursed for 7 doctor’s visits which cost me $1,900, and after six months and six supervisors, I got nothing. They even lied and said that they mailed me two checks to my correct address but never followed up to see that the checks never cleared, and my mailbox is a locked box. It took six months to get MRI’s. They wouldn’t approve a crown because I still had half of a tooth left even though the dentist tried to repair it, and it didn’t work. Everything was a nightmare. Do NOT use them unless you want a nervous breakdown.
Well care is NOT WELL 9 months of no care!
getting ANY assistance from Wellcare... Wellcare by Allwell is....NOT WELL! Referrals don't happen, Prior Authorizations don't happen. Making contact with a service representative does not happen. I've given them 9 months to make anything happen to no avail.
Their representatives are answering from mystery places around the country, and are TOO familiar with placing you on hold for 40+minutes so they can walk the dog, do dishes, or whatever they please. OR: They stick to their script and do not care of your concerns. Even the notes they submit are not accurate; never listing they yelled at me, hung up on me, got snarky with me. They are guilty of not providing me with necessary health care.

total incompetent + unprofessional in all aspects of their organization - lies, false promises, + total disregard of policy holder well being - i could go on for hours about problems + slow or non payments for valid claims in past year - BEFORE ANYONE EVEN CONSIDERS WELLCARE GO TO BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU + CONSUMERS AFFAIRS + READ REVIEWS !!!

They are very dissonance about their service. Told me that my doctors are in their network which was not truth.
Cancellation process took all day long and pressure from them was unacceptable.
The English lenguge was hard to understand
Poor company
Please do not get involved with this company! Ignorance on every call. It appears that no one knows how to run this business or can supply you with any kind of information. If you do choose to get involved with this delinquent company always ask for an American representative, because most times you will be connected with somebody that doesn't speak fluent English and they're very hard to understand and the intelligent level is that a scale of one. Worst company of I've ever dealt with in 67 years!
Otc and giveback program is great,but..
Otc and giveback program is great. Doctors appointments and other providers take a long time to arrange follow up appointments even longer often times you sign up with a provider and by the time you arrive at your schedule appointment the doctor has dropped the program. I have cataracts confirmed by my eye doctor but my vision is too good according to WellCare criteria To get Lasik surgery. Often times to get specialist coverage you need a referral the doctors are unwilling or unable to get that referral
WELLCARE PART D PLAN IS A RIPOFF. IT TOOK 10 MONTHS TO CANCEL THE HORRIFIC WELLCARE PLAN!
In 2022, WELLCARE raised their Part D premium rates from $22 a month ($264 a year) in 2021 to $68 a month ($816 for a year) in 2022.
So what did I get for that $552 increase?
I GOT COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF BY WELLCARE!!
During open enrollment, they had no formulary available to review nor were they able to supply a formulary until Feb/March 2022. I did not receive a Part D card until April 2022.
The problem was WELLCARE no longer covered my prescriptions and other meds at a reasonable price. It was much cheaper to fill prescriptions using either the regular Kroger pharmacy price or by using Good RX or getting OTC versions.
In January 2022, I called Medicare numerous times and asked them to allow me change me to a another Part D Plan or to cancel my plan. I was told that I would be able to cancel the plan and pay a small fee for the rest of my life for each month of not having a plan. It came out to bout $13 for the entire year
I asked Wellcare to cancel the plan and I was told that I had to fax them a signed letter asking for the cancellation. I sent them a signed faxed letter as instructed by Wellcare in late January 2022, but nothing was done. I called Wellcare numerous times to no avail and I filed a complaint with Medicare regarding WellCare. The Wellcare Escalation Team has been reviewing this with no answer to my request that they refund me my money.
Finally Medicare changed me to a Humana Plan in October 2021, after 10 months of numerous calls to Medicare and WellCare.
MY ADVICE TO ALL MEDICARE PLAN RECIPIENTS.
DO NOT USE WELLCARE. THEY ARE ROBBER THIEVES!
The only thing good about Wellcare No…
The only thing good about Wellcare No Premium PPO is the Flex card they provide. It comes with $1500.00 balance that you can use for dental and vision. You need this because no one accepts their insurance. I live just outside Chicago and was unable to find a dentist or eye doctor in their preferred network. They do not cover hospital stays over 90 days. I use CVS pharmacy and had no problems with prescriptions. So, that's why I gave them two stars. Their customer service is ridiculous. You wait on hold a very long time and then you can't understand what they are saying.I would not want to find out what happens if you actually have to file a medical claim. I'm on Medicare and the year is up. I'm definitely going back to Humana. You can't do worse than Wellcare.
Customer Care is non-existent
Customer Care is non-existent. I asked a very simple question, then was put on hold for 5 min or longer, then asked and gave the same info again and again placed on hold after the acct was verified. Asked to speak to a supervisor and again placed on hold twice and asked for the information a third time. And, I couldn't understand the person on the phone. Nothing more frustrating than incompetence.

THANK ALL THE REVIEWERS FOR YOUR HONESTY!!! I WILL NOT BE USING WELL CARE!!! I already have them for my pharmacy coverage - but I am changing that too.... THERE IS NOTHING LIKE "BEEN THERE, DONE THAT" EXPERIENCE.... BUT I AM SO SORRY THAT ALL OF YOU ARE HAVING TO GO THROUGH THIS CRAP!!!
