HORRIBLE customer service

HORRIBLE customer service. Bank staff in Highlands Ranch Colorado branch were rude, defended their own staff and spread bias to other team members that resulted in poor customer service for the appointment the following day. They said that I was “short” on the phone (when I was trying to call them back quickly) and therefore they believed that justified them not saying “hello” or treating me with respect when in person, etc. It is true I did not engage in small talk on the phone given I had a 90 minute appointment scheduled the following day, was busy with work, and I was taking time off work already the following day. They focused only on my reaction to their unprofessional and unkind behavior and not the underlying issue.

Markedly different experience in the Lone Tree location with Cindy, Zach, and Laura. They were kind, tried to pronounce my name correctly, offered water, showed compassion, etc.

Customer service is everything and recovering from poor first impressions is crucial in business.

I applied for a loan with wells fargo…

I applied for a loan with wells fargo and got approved i put up a decent down payment and gave my earnest money, they took forever to get back to me with updates, gave me an endless amount of documents to fill out and provide, even a letter from my employer. I make way more then my monthly mortgage would have been and have had a steady job with years of consistency, closer to my closing date they had denied my loan stating that because i do travel healthcare they dont really understand the stability of it, even after showing them proof and explaining it to them over and over again. They have made this the most anxiety filled time i have ever experienced when dealing with a bank. From the underwriters to the management they are all horrible, unsuited for dealing with finance or any other job requiring thought, i will be removing my accounts with them even being a customer for 13 years. Steer clear from these morons!

Security Breach

Review:
On Saturday, June 28, 2025, my Wells Fargo account was hacked. A criminal was able to get access to my personal information and called Wells Fargo pretending to be me. Shockingly, they were able to answer a few basic personal questions and gained full access to my account. They then made large transfers and used my debit card for unauthorized purchases.

What’s even more disturbing is that Wells Fargo claims to use voice recognition for security—but it only works if someone is calling from your personal phone. That makes no sense. My phone was not lost or stolen. Yet someone else was able to bypass their system and access my account without much effort.

Unlike other banks like Navy Federal Credit Union, Wells Fargo doesn’t allow you to set up a personal password for added protection. Navy Federal uses voice recognition too, but their system is far more secure—it doesn't matter what phone is used. If the caller doesn’t have the password, they can’t do anything. Period.

Wells Fargo's security features are outdated and inadequate. In today’s world of identity theft and hacking, their weak authentication process puts every customer at risk. They need to step up and take customer security seriously before more people fall victim to the same thing I did.

Until Wells Fargo improves their security systems, I cannot recommend this bank to anyone.

Wells Fargo Employees

Your company does not communicate and by this disconnection, your messing with people’s livelihoods and money! The only way you can improve is make an example of folks who aren’t doing there job and cut them loose! Y’all owe me some money that I’m supposed to be reimbursed, if y’all can’t figure it out I do have the paper trail and I will get my lawyer involved!

Credit Cards without purchase protection

Be careful with Wells Fargo credit cards. They won't defend you if you do not receive your purchase. They'll tell you to work it out with the vendor even if the vendor is out of business and has no phone number or e-mail address.

Absolutely no support for military members and their families.

This bank is the worst bank in the history of banks. It offers no support to military family members and their families when deployed overseas. Even if you link your WF account to a Military bank overseas, you cannot transfer funds without an American phone number. After 30 years as a customer I have to drop these guys. They are horrible and arrogant.

I have been a customer of Wells Fargo since 1998

I have been a personal customer of Wells Fargo since 1998 and business customer since 2014. As a self-employed architect, due to the economy, I've experienced financial hardship for over two years now. I've had many overdraft charges which are valid but end of 2024 I contested (9) overdraft charges on my statements that occurred in 2024 even though I had a positive balance showing. I've just called in again about this issue for the third time because there has been no real response. I was told that the statements don't reflect pending transactions, and I am wrong in my assumptions of depending on my statements as an accurate reflection of my posted balance. (9) different overdraft charges of $35 occurred even though my statements showed I had a positive balance. It has been a very frustrating experience. Overdraft fees are for posted transactions and these posted transactions show a positive ending balance. Wells Fargo cannot even show me backup to their claim or even explain it so it makes sense. I was talked to condescendingly and repeatedly told I was wrong, I need a new bank that cares.

My favorite thing about Wells Fargo is when things are tight Wells Fargo makes sure they get their $10 if you fall below $1000 something that could be used for food or gas !! Lost wallet and I have tow wait 7 days…

Lost wallet and I have to wait 7 days for replacement. They won’t give you the new Card number so you can’t change Auto Payments so now I will have late payment charges. You can use Apple Pay but it is useless for online payments or automatic payments. They use to give you replacement cards but since they were caught making unauthorized cards on peoples accounts they have stopped that service. Another Example of Greedy, Untrustworthy, No Accountability

I would give Wells Fargo zero stars if it was an option! I went into the north white plains bank with issues on my escrow account. The guy put me in an office and gave me a phone to speak with a rep in Kansas. I was alone on the phone for a long time, then walked out to find nobody for help. I left disgusted. Don’t use Wells Fargo for your mortgage, please!

WF doesn't fight for their customers in chargebacks

Their active cash credit card shut me down without notice. My chargebacks against a fraudster were mainly denied because apparently you can put 2 chargebacks into Visa Arb, but the rest that at all from the SAME CASE get declined and I'm told I received what I paid for when in the TERMS AND CONDIDTIONS which is the CONTRACT I engaged in with the merchant showed that I did NOT receive the service I paid for. I even supplied ample evidence showing this but even attempting to escalate or get all my cases treated the same, I was denied and declined. Now the bank may be allowing a fraudster business scam me out of 38k that is contractually owed me to but apparently no one can read in the organization. Don't do business here.

Wells Fargo did not protect my account…

Wells Fargo did not protect my account when I was threatened by scammers. They instructed me to go to my bank to withdraw money - large bills - and insisted I stay on the line so they could listen to the transaction. They demanded I withdraw $7,500 in cash and warned me not to hang up or they would come after me. Wells Fargo complied without asking any questions. Seeing how effortless it was, the scammer persisted. I withdrew another $7,500; once again, they handed it over with ease, so they had me take out an additional $4,500. I lost everything. The largest bank in America can't even recognize when someone is being scammed. They will not reimburse me because I made the withdrawal in person. They show no concern that I was Threatened.

As if their reviews could get lower

This company is actually stealing $18,000 dollars from me. My partner deposited a check in the wrong account. They said he had committed fraud even though we gave them all kinds of paperwork. They're refusing to give the check or the money back. It's kind of disgusting considering what a big company they are but I guess they got there by stealing from little guys. We've tried for months to get it back. They've given us the runaround and keep shoving us off to different people. They use the excuse that I wasn't on his account to justify not talking to me and screwing me over. I waited four years for this and now they're stealing it. Shameful.

Exceptional customer service for special needs

In addition to having very competitive rates and banking opportunities, you have excellent customer service. Brett Crandell in Mt. Airy, NC has helped us with two disabled family members on two occasions recently. Both need assistance with mobility, sight and understanding information. He was professional and very knowledgeable, while patient, considerate, and highly successful in assisting them to understand and navigate opening new accounts and transfers. I was so pleased to know that our recommendation for Wells Fargo was the right one. Many Thanks. He is a great asset to your company! Dorothy
