Wing sail repair

Great service. My wing repair was only a small job for the team but important to me. The team treated the repair and it's urgency with the same professionalism and care as they would for a much larger job. Repair was done well and very quickly.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY

Handed over £750 worth of Sailing equipment, a cruising sail and Furler over two years ago. Westaway sails failed to sell the equipment, I requested the return of the equipment in January 2024 and have ignored all my communications since then. They have basically stolen the equipment and ghosted me. Please do not deal with this company, they are dishonest. I now have to take legal action to recover the equipment.

String of errors and mistakes

The whole experience was a string of errors and disasters, Missed delivery dates, missing invoice, missing parts and a sales person who thought it was all so funny she couldn't speak for laughing. I won't be returning - you can risk it if you like.

Awful people to deal with

Awful people to deal with. They took ages to make our spray dodgers despite being paid in full at the time the order was placed. A new excuse every week endless broken promises. When I asked for my money back I was told they were in production and would be with me next week when they hadn’t even measured the boat. Their other company Exchange sails are just as bad. I gave them 3 sails to sell for me. No feed back after 18 months and was drip fed stories that offers had been made and deposits taken only to be offered a sum considerably less than their original valuation. I’m afraid that all the bad reviews that can be found on other web sites are true. Be advised, and take your custom elsewhere.

I ordered a recut main and genoa for…

I ordered a recut main and genoa for my catamaran, stating that as the mast was short both sails were to be made maximizing the area. they showed me a high-quality laminate sail they were going to recut for me. At that time, I took a spinnaker snuffer to the loft to PX and a friends Genoa as a pattern. In the space of 3 days, they lost the spinnaker for which they paid me a paltry price. when I got the Genoa, it was 20-25% too small and not of the same quality as agreed and the main was a total mess made from a badly stretched old main. they said a courier would pick up the sails. I declined this offer not wanting them to go missing. I have tried to get a time and date when I can return them for a full inspection on their behalf but have not had a reply. I am now taking court action. I can be contacted on 07999216207 for an update which I shall also post here. Please look at YBW.com website for more information. Be warned Florence. further to my above post. Westaway's have contacted me, and the outcome has been resolved to my complete satisfaction. Florence.

Great sails and lazy bag, super quick and value for money!

We have had sails and and more recently a new lazy bag made in double quick time from John and Westaways. In all dealings, they have been super helpful, displaying a great knowledge of all things practical and useful in helping us with our various projects. The sails fitted like a glove first time out and the lazy bag is a far better design than our previous "sack". Highly recommended!

Ordered a new genoa for my Sadler34…

Ordered a new genoa for my Sadler34 with some trepidation judging by some of the reviews on here. However everything was fine, excellent communication, made and delivered bang on time and the sail looks great though I've not had the chance to use it in anything but very light winds.
Very satisfied and would definitely use again.

DON'T deal with these people

DON'T deal with these people. I ordered a used sail which never arrived. They agreed to refund in full. I spent ages chasing and eventually issued proceedings in the Small Claims Court. The bailiffs eventually recovered all the money due. What a performance. There are plenty of reputable sailmakers around.
