Disappointing is too nice a word.

Asked whitegates to take on our property after speaking with several local agents, having been assured of strong buyer registration and scope for marketing we pushed ahead and agreed to market with them.

From the usual initial bounce you get when a property first goes live and you have people coming over things went quiet.

No calls, no emails nothing. Radio silence. We initiated EVERY contact with whitegates to the point the branch manger apologised for the performance and suggested they would "take it on themselves" and arrange contact every other day.

Again zero contact on the following week since that chat so we requested that they release us from our contract as we needed a more proactive approach.

The manager Ross decided this was an opportunity to defend their performance despite previous acknowledgment of their underperformance and zero proactive approaches. Ross went on to ask for a £250 + vat charge to be released from the contact.

We argued the above as you can imagine but the best result was a reduction in the request to £200 + vat, we have paid this and instructed a legal team to recover the monies and all additional fees on top of the cost.

Having submitted all our data to the legal team we are assured of our position and simply have to go through the process of recovery to reclaim monies and fees in due course.

Shame that given several opportunities to do the right thing given their clear failings they prioritised what is a small amount of monies over client satisfaction.

We have just listed a property with the West Derby team and have found them to be really professional and attentive.
We had some glitches with the online system but Zaklina was always on hand to support us and communicated promptly and clearly at all times, which was really appreciated

I have been very impressed with my experience of house-selling with Whitegates. I thought the initial Sales Negotiator was professional and experienced and suggested the price I had in mind.
There was no problem when we told them we did not want to accept offers.
We felt they went through all the admin in a thorough way.
I was happy with the way they arranged and handled viewings a d found James always helpful, friendly and courteous. Things did begin to drag towards the end
(through no fault of theirs) and they maintained their helpful stance to the end.

Thanks to James and the rest of the team for a smooth house sale.

Just awful - please avoid this estate agent. We were looking to buy a house, we put an offer in on a property, and because the estate agent felt it was ‘too low’ she didn’t even put it to the seller - this is ILLEGAL. We then upped our offer and she still didn’t give it to the seller - again ILLEGAL. Apparently she felt personally slighted/offended that we had offered lower than the asking price for some reason and was ‘teaching us a lesson’ 😂

They also applied HUGE pressure to use their own broker, basically blackmailing us by telling us our offer wouldn’t be accepted unless we did. When we explained that we did not want to use their broker, they stopped replying to emails and answering our calls. This is all illegal/unlawful behaviour because you’re pressure selling something to a customer which they do not have to buy.

I’m just glad we didn’t buy a house with them, because if this is how they treat people who are making offers, god knows how they treat people who are already locked into their contracts etc.

AVOID ALL WHITEGATES!!

Edit: the house we placed an offer on, which the female agent unlawfully refused to send to the seller, did sell to someone else at the same time we made our offer. We were being bullied by this agent into trying to raise our offer due to what she described as ‘multiple offers that were SUBSTANTIALLY higher than ours’ and clearly the agent was refusing to send any offer to the seller unless we met her own expectations. Highly illegal by the way. Anyway, the amount the house did sell for has been released now - the house sold for LESS than we offered 😂 the agent was so annoyed and had her ego so hurt that we wouldn’t be bullied by her unlawful tactics that she let the house get sold for LESS than one of the offers - so very obviously never sent our offer to the seller. Moral of the story - this place will mess up and act unlawfully whether you’re buying OR selling a house with them. So just go elsewhere and save yourself the hassle!

Unprofessional, take no accountability for staff failings, lie about serious issues with property. Do not use.

I was impressed with how Whitegates kept me informed and up to date with the whole process of selling my mothers house. Bernie came initially to value the house and then i dealt with Monia who was very helpful and professional throughout the whole process.

Surely before an estate agent list a house for sale they should check the person can legally sell it? Not so apparently, thus costing me x 2 house buyers surveys at a cost of £100 each, 2 mortgage applications and offers (credit rating impact) as it was listed more that valued but wouldn't accept the first re-evaluation offer, then the trouble of getting builders quotes, visits, instructing solicitors and everything else that goes with the process and then only to be told it after all that had happened it had to go through a legal process (court of protection) with no estimated completion date, nearly 12 months after that I was then told it was now in probate, so had no choice but to give up and found somewhere that could legally be sold and not as much as an apology from whitegates never mind being out of pocket and inconvenienced beyond any reasonable time.

Might be ok buying and selling . When it comes to landlord and lettings they are awful. Good at telling porkies

I recently had dealings with Whitegates West Derby. The staff, including James, were professional and helpful throughout the process. They were responsive and managed to arrange viewings and offers efficiently. The entire experience was relatively smooth, and their service was satisfactory. Overall, it's a decent option, but there were some areas that didn't exceed expectations. 3 stars.

Each and everyone of the team have been amazing excellent communication excellent explanations step by step. I know we are in good hands. Excellent referrals to a solicitor ( who has also been amazing)
I first spoke to James (with his bright smile and friendly nature)and I was introduced to other members of the team. Bernie Came to do the initial evaluation (top lady) had a pack ready for us and took her time to look around the property and go through the paperwork. There was no rush. I felt in safe hands and with her invaluable knowledge and experience and kindness Bernie made it all easy. Met Lydia and James a second time again so helpful and friendly Matt came also to the house he was also brilliant and confident with one of the viewers an offer was put in on the same day at the viewing. Spoken to Freya but not met again all very friendly and reassuring. Each and everyone of the team members have communicated fast responses helpful and supportive and reassuring makes things so easy for the seller when they know they have an experts showing them the way. The app Kriva is also a great tool. Finally a big shout out to all the team at Whitegates west derby really appreciate all your support and excellent efforts to make things happen as smoothly as possible. Been dealing with Whitegates West Derby for many years, they are well established and offer a professional and first class service. Katie is our contact for our rental management and she is a great communicator and is very efficient and helpful.

Currently selling my property through whitegates west derby. I have been dealing with James who is always very pleasant, extremely thorough and highly professional, nothing is too much trouble and the whole process has ran very smoothly. My house was only up for sale for one month and we received and accepted an offer not far off the asking price. Highly recommend

I am in the process of selling a house through Whitegates in West Derby and Lydia has been amazing.She has guided me and been so helpful from all her advice and listening to my concerns.She is always ready to listen and is clear and precise with any details and I never feel left in the dark with any information.It is a pleasure doing business with her. My mum has just sold her house through whitegates Although a very stressful experience through no fault of theirs the staff went above and beyond their roles ensuring my mum had support in dealing with all aspects of the sale showing her how to manage correspondence from on line solicitors
Ross especially treated my mum.with the utmost respect always answering calls and helping with queries. Ross was always pleasant and professional without losing the personal touch which was very much appreciated as my mum is 78 and it was quite overwhelming at times Ross always reassured her and helped ease the pressure He is a really nice young man and a pleasure to deal with
Bernie also provided lots of help and reassurance and took care of my mum if she had to go into Branch when Ross was unavailable we would like to thank them for all their help
