Great House Great Service Great Price!

We recently purchased a house from Wiggett Homes at their Lowton Development.

We were looking to down size from our house which we’d just sold, and wanted to move nearer to our Family / Granddaughter.

After looking at several developments in the area, we opted to buy with Wiggett because of the location, and the competitive price of the properties on offer. From our research, we found a good mix of houses and availability to meet our timescale but primarily the price was excellent. When compared to other Builders in the area.

On initial contact with the site Sales Office, we were greeted by June the Sales Agent. Our initial thoughts of her and the information she provided on the Company, Availability and Sales Process was excellent and above all reassuring.

We have bought new houses previously, and the experiences have been adequate at best. We weren’t really expecting any difference with this purchase, but we were pleasantly surprised.

After deciding on the house, June went through the full step by step process and we paid our holding deposit. We are VERY fussy and June, along with the site manager Ian and Natalie accommodated our requirements and nothing was too much trouble (Thanks!)

From the point of order, we was kept up to date via email detailing the build stage and expected completion. The information provided was very useful and any questions we had prior to completion was dealt efficiently by June via telephone and pre arranged appointments personally.

On completion day, we had a home demo meeting where June and Ian discussed our property and it’s features in details. This has been invaluable to us, especially discussing the key points of the fixtures and warranty.

After receiving our keys, we noticed a handful of snags. This was documented and quickly dealt with by Ian.

On the whole my Wife and I are really pleased with the house we bought and the service we received from Wiggett.

To all the Team at Wiggett, especially June and Ian. Thanks for making this a memorable purchase for us.

Great experience!

We recently purchased a 2 bed apartment from Wiggett Homes in Saddleworth.

The whole process was excellent from start to finish. The majority of communication was with June (sales). June went above and beyond, communicating regularly with updates on both the build, timings for payments and schedules. Any queries were dealt with swiftly. We genuinely could not have asked for more - thank you June!

Wiggett were also instrumental in assisting us with our timescale for completion (we had a great mortgage offer that we would have definitely lost without Wiggett's support and assistance - thank you Wiggett!).

We were also very happy with the finish of the build. Snags were dealt with promptly and to our satisfaction.

In summary, a great experience.

The Best Helping Hand on to The Housing Ladder!

I bought my first property with Wiggett Homes last year and I will be eternally grateful for their kindly support from start to finish. They were absolutely brilliant! I’ve now been in my new home for a little over six months and I still wake up feeling so proud and happy that I am a homeowner!

I chose to purchase through Wiggett Homes following a recommendation from a friend and it such a sound choice! As a first time buyer I didn’t have any experience in property purchasing and the Team really held my hand every step of the way. Knowing that no topic was too big or small I felt comfortable asking questions and empowered to make choices with the information I garnered from their supportive knowledge sharing.

The Wiggett Homes aftercare team have also been fantastic and were really through in their snag checks and overall customer care.

If in doubt… try them out! One conversation will put your mind at ease and the quality of the builds speaks for itself. It’s certainly an easy 5*s across the board for Wiggett Homes from me!

Do Not Trust Wiggett Homes

Do Not Trust Wiggett Homes

Before I start this review, its important to state that this is a genuine and honest review and something which everyone deserves to know about Wiggett Homes.

Buying a house should be a wonderful experience and the one thing I will give this company credit for is they know how to ‘market’ their houses and produce lovely glossy brochures and certainly ‘sell you the dream’ – well done to the Wiggett marketing team.

That’s where the positives end.

During the sales process – they over promise and under deliver (time and time again) I won’t overstep the mark and list any individuals’ names, but certain members of the sales team are; rude, arrogant and simply put liars, opting to guess answers reassuring the buyer that should something not be correct in what they state, they will make it right – complete and utter rubbish!

Once they have that signature, let me be very clear – that’s when things and comments previously mentioned start to change. In my experience, they start to put deadlines on the buyer and really push for decisions to be made (a lot earlier than required) but when they don’t meet certain timelines, nothing seems to be an issue – hypocrites.

Additionally, once you move into the property they claim that the customer service from an after sales perspective is ‘second to none’. I can say with a clear conscience my experience has been the worst I have ever received by any company. I have not once managed to speak to an aftercare member of staff (over 50 calls made) they try and completely avoid any issues, hoping the buyer will just resolve it themselves (which many things we have done, as we grew tired of waiting).

They do respond to email, but often this is ‘dismissive of any issues’ constantly referring to ‘adhering to building guidelines’ and taking in some cases ‘weeks’ to respond - I cannot stress enough how poor this service is and the most disappointing thing is that they are getting away with it – people need to know what they are like!

Apparently, any time you email the ‘aftercare address’ all company directors see this, what I find incredible is that not one of them has reached out to speak with us about the issues and the shocking experience we have had with Wiggett – says it all really.

If you are considering buying from this developer, DON’T DO IT – I really wished I would have read a review like this one I am writing, before agreeing to trust this company.

I can see from previous Trustpilot reviews, a company representative might respond to this review saying ‘please give us a call to assist / resolve’ or even make a comment responding back to my claims, but it’s far too late for that.

Also, should Wiggett feel that in any way that what I am saying isn’t truthful, clearly you are not aware of the plethora of issues we have faced.

As a family-owned business, we ‘trusted’ you as a developer and you completely let me and my family down and the company owners should be ashamed when reading this review.

There is one individual who is exempt from this review and that’s Sales Manager Paul Cook – who is an utter professional and has on countless times tried to support us with any issues, which was really appreciated.

Good afternoon. We are very sorry to hear that your experience with our aftercare service has not been to your satisfaction. Could you possibly contact me directly at: marketing@wiggett.co.uk with your name, plot number and the development name, so I can look in to this further for you? Hopefully, with some more information, your feedback can help us improve our services. Kindest regards, Wiggett Homes.

Avoid avoid

Avoid avoid, been complaining about a specific issue, for thirteen months,Wiggett homes, refuse to come to my home, and even see the issue, this isn't a little snagging job, it's a serious construction fault, it's caused a lot of upset and anxiety, what should have been a happy experience in a new build home has turned out to be a horrible experience, from the day moving in, thirteen months ago. This is issue is not going away.

Good afternoon Lorraine, Wiggett Homes apologise that this has not been a happy experience for you.

From discussions with our Aftercare team we understand that the issue you are referring to relates to vibrations felt from an integrated washing machine. As you are aware, we install "beam and block flooring" to all our ground floors, this is a well recognised and widely used method of construction and all designs and works have been approved and signed off by the Local Authority Building Control, and also in conjunction with the NHBC standards.

The floor has been inspected by two site managers and our Aftercare team since you initially reported this as an issue, and you have been advised that the minor vibrations felt are within normal levels and deemed acceptable. Electrolux have also completed a home visit and confirmed that they found no fault to the machine.

If you would like to pursue this matter further we would advise you contact the NHBC.

Kind regards, Wiggett Homes.

Recently bought our first property with Wigget homes, and what a great experience we’ve had start to finish. June and Paul have kept us at ease and answered any questions day/night. Snags have been addressed already and even in the current conditions everything has been dealt with amazingly.
Would always recommend as the quality for a new build is above and beyond.

We love our new Wiggett Homes house

We love our new Wiggett Homes house. The house is well built and well finished, and the staff on site dealt with a couple of small snags very quickly. Everyone was really helpful throughout the whole buying and moving process.

Great company to deal with and beautiful house

Moved into our new Wiggett Home 2 weeks ago and it's the best move we've ever made, we put a reservation on the new build in late 2019 and from there it was all plain sailing, even the Covid nightmare has not blighted our move or experience because from the start of lockdown I received regular calls from Wiggett sales either to update us with news or just to ask how we were which I thought was fantastic. Eventually they were able to continue the build to completion and in those weeks we also had professional and friendly contact from our sales negotiator June who I have to say is really approachable about anything and made all the legal stuff easy too, now the house - we were asked to inspect the property on receipt of keys, we found a couple of issues which we reported back and these were tended to and resolved within a day, we were also given 7 days to make a snag list once we moved in because as June said, sometimes you don't immediately see something you're not happy with until you move in, we did find a couple of things to report and have a timeline for when these will be dealt with but all small issues, nothing that I'm too worried about. After 2 weeks of living in our new home we are so happy with the build, fixtures & fittings and the site itself is lovely, we couldn't ask for more and although I don't expect to ever move from our forever home if I ever did contemplate it I'd be more than happy to check out and purchase again from Wiggett Homes, a big thank you to everyone I've had the pleasure of dealing with, in particular Paul, June, Steve & Gordon, what a great team!

Great company providing quality homes

Bought my first Wiggett home in the middle of lockdown and the Sales Manager Paul was brilliant. Kept me up to date and managed to bring the finish date forward to coincide with my sale. The house is fabulous with quality fixtures and fittings. It is still a building site but the staff are friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend Wiggett Homes,

Update: after 3 years

Moved into our new Wiggett Homes house two weeks ago now and I love it. The house is beautiful and the build quality is amazing.

Its been a stressful move with a few delays along the way due to covid but June at Wiggetts has been great with us throughout.

There is still work going on at the site, the staff on site are really friendly and professional.

Update:
We've been in the new house now 30 months.

I've got to reflect the quality of the aftercare service in the score hence it going from a 5 to a 2. I think when you move into a new house you expect a certain quality of service - however you can forget it with Wiggetts aftercare. You get short, dismissive replies (if at all) and outright lies.

Heartbreaking experience

Once they had my money they completely changed their attitude. So many issues with my house that they either refused to sort out or only sorted after many emails and calls. Attitude of sales staff and the so called ‘after care’ staff are appalling. There are too many problems to list. In the end, you just want to get on with your life and block out the negative experience, which is probably how they keep getting away with it

The worst nightmare when buying a new build home is that you won’t get what you were promised, and that when things go wrong you won’t feel listened to. Both of these things became a reality with Wiggett homes. We have spent so many hours emailing and calling this company as they are completely inept when it comes to customer service.

Darren,

We are saddened and disappointed to hear you have had a negative experience buying a home with us. We pride ourselves on having many happy customers over the 41 years we have been in business, and like to think both our Sales and Aftercare teams provide a quality service. If possible, could you please reach out to us privately via: aftercare@wiggett.co.uk with your full name, address and when you bought with us, so we can investigate this matter further?

Kind regards,
