Terrible customer service

I ordered a product and the shipping date kept getting pushed. I never received an email update, I only found out by checking the order status. Then it got pushed 8 months so I asked to cancel and get a refund. They said it was ordered through a third party so they can't authorize the refund. I got an email finally saying they approved my refund after 3 weeks and then 2 hours later they took it back so I'm at square one again.

Will take your money even if you didn't receive your order

When I ordered the DIY Sourdough Kit, the item showed in stock. Then I received an email that it would be delayed due to being back ordered. I travel a lot for work ... in fact, so much I'm rarely home. So, I use a UPS Store mailbox for deliveries. Allegedly, the item was delivered five weeks after I ordered the kit, BUT the store has no record of receiving it. Yes, I called outside the return window, but again, I have been traveling since December 13 and could not confirm that the item was delivered since my mailbox service couldn't locate and verify delivery. So, I called customer service, and they refused a refund. Nice ... thanks for keeping my money and the item I ordered, WS. I WILL NOT spend money with you ever again.

Lousy customer service and nasty on the phone.

Do not order through them. Ordered a Vortex Pro Air Fryer. It was sent to Mississippi but I live in Texas. After a month, I supposedly got a replacement except when I looked at the box, it was an Instant Pot and NOT an Air Fryer. Done with Williams Sonoma.

Archaic Shipping Rate Policy + Expensive Shipping for Small Items

William Sonoma is the only brand that sells a specific metal spatula that was requested as a gift and for a $33 spatula that weighs almost nothing and only around a foot long, it costs $9 to ship. I check the company's shipping rates and it's all based on price range which is ridiculous. So if I spend $15 on a face cloth versus a $25 face cloth of the same size, the shipping is still more?! What if I buy a giant vase for $15? That costs less to ship than a set of forks?! Logically makes no sense. Someone needs to steer this company in the right direction before they start losing customers. It's 2024, not 2004!

Do people realize how hard the average person has to work for $9 just for it to be thrown away to shipping? Imagine buying 2 identical items, then the shipping would be double too. You're basically being punished by shopping more here.

Absolute incompetence

Ordered a SMEG toaster with delivery promised within a certain time frame. Which means they hand it in stock. After ordering and paying they then send an email saying it's not in stock and delivery will be much longer. So they hook you in, take your money and make you wait. That is fraud at it's best. I cancelled the order. They said you can't at this point. Wait until you get the order and then send it back to issue a refund. So idid that. Purolator came to pick up the item, returned it to them and now they say they haven't recieved it on first email. Then they say they did but it will take 3 weeks to process. What?? I charged them back and had my bank deal with them. DO NOT order from this company ever. Unless you want the headache. Bunch of amateur crooks.

Didn't inform me of cancelled order

I ordered placed an order as a gift. When it became apparent the gift never arrived, I checked the shipping tracking to find out it had been cancelled with no reason listed. Yet my credit card had been charged. After calling two rude customer service agents, they told me that the credit card billing address didn't match the recipient's address!!!! What?! Are you kidding? Of course it didn't match, thus the box I checked indicating it was a gift. They never sent me a text or email telling me the order had been cancelled.

Ordered flatware 2 weeks ago

Ordered flatware 2 weeks ago. Purolator is the delivery agent. It was supposed to have started arriving within 10 days. Seems the items haven’t left Ontario as yet. It seems WS has shipping issues and then they use Purolator who seem to be a worst courier(?)

I wish that I had read these reviews…

I wish that I had read these reviews earlier. This company has absolutely no room for responding to customer concerns. I ordered three sets of four Christmas dinner plates and three sets of four Christmas salad plates. The plates took a very long time to be delivered and certainly did not meet the expected delivery date as noted at the time that the order was placed. I did not complain. Before the plates arrived Williams Sonoma offered another 20 percent offer on these discounted plates. I contacted the customer service department and they emphatically stated that there was no room for negotiation-I did not qualify for further discounts. I asked where this policy was written and received no response. The fact that this company was not willing to offer some form of compensation was beyond disappointing. Bottom line, plates were not delivered in the promised time. A further discount was offered during this wait period. How can I not be eligible for some form of compensation? They really do no care. The arrogance is beyond frustrating.

Christmas gift not delivered

I ordered an Italian pasta crate as a Christmas gift on 12/18. Their site said delivery 12/29 which would be late for Christmas but I apologized to my daughter in law and explained it. On the 29th, there still was no update on shipping, so I called customer service. I was told it was a problem with the vendor and at that point they couldn't even cancel my order. I was told they had been having problems with their tracking. Then probably trying to make me feel better they told me they had other problems with vendors and customers that ordered Christmas dinners for 12 didn't get their meals because of a shortage of mashed potatoes, so their Christmas dinners were ruined. I was told that they would give my name and number to the vendor and they would contact me. I was later told that this would never actually happen. I told them that the vendor wasn't the one that had my money for several weeks, Williams-Sonoma did, with no product to show for it and also if they had just let me know that the crate wouldn't be available, I would have had time to get her something else. I asked to speak to a manager. After a long wait, the manager came on what sounded like a cell phone because it kept breaking up. Probably to get me off the line, she told me that she was able to see tracking and that it actually would be delivered that day. It did not arrive. A couple days later the website said it would arrive 1/4/24. It did not. I called again, spoke to a very pleasant representative. They did end up refunding my money. But that did not help the fact that my daughter-in-law didn't get a Christmas gift. There was no other compensation offered. All they had to do was be truthful that the item wasn't available by the date. Poor communication and several lies. Will not be ordering anything from them again.

I ordered my 84-year-old mother's…

I ordered my 84-year-old mother's Christmas dinner on December 8th... to the tune of $244.00 the Turkey Roll did not arrive frozen and was not safe to eat. I called Williams Sonoma right away... the other things I ordered arrived frozen. They told me they would get a new one out to her by the 29th or maybe by January 1st. There was a store in San Franciso that could have still gotten her Turkey Roll to her in time for Christmas... it was located 2-hours away from where she lives. This was my gift to my mother for Christmas only to have them not care enough to make the extra effort to correct the wrong. This was the first and last time I will trust this company. I contacted them 3-times by email about the situation only to have no respond. Needless to say, this company has disappointed me in so many ways.

It was my first experience using WS…

It was my first experience using WS online store as my brick and mortar location is a couple hours drive. They had everything I wanted for my new wet bar I'm setting up for my birthday in stock, albeit very over priced. I placed my order and not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 out of the 6 items that showed available were all suddenly now on back order with no future date available. What a disappointment. Clearly nobody is updating this online store. At least the 2 reps I interacted with were pleasant and easy to understand. I'll give 1 star for each of them. Won't be using this store again.

I bought two pot holders from WS

I bought two pot holders from WS. And I washed one yesterday while I continued to bake with the other. Came out with a HOLE and shrunken. Smh. Bought an apron for Christmas, it came in June. No option to cancel. Sent my niece lil things for her fall coffee - nothing came and the next Augusts, I got an email that my money was being refunded. Out of stock. They're just the absolute worst! I literally thought two potholders would be safe, and no . Not safe. I have pics if anyone needs. Happy New Year!

delivered something I didnt even order…

delivered something i never ordered yet email said it delivered what I had ordered, four phone calls later and still dealing with useless people with totally different excuses as to product availability.
When ordered every product stated order online and available for immediate delivery.
So far told product out of stock,or discontinued, just not good enough now waiting for a return phone call yet again. Please do yourself a favour and order elsewhere as this company is incapable of calling back and supplying product as advertisied.
Would never recommend purchasing unless you physicaly see it in store.

My sister ordered a Williams Sonoma…

My sister ordered a Williams Sonoma Christmas Prime Rib Dinner as a Christmas gift for my mother and myself. It was suppose to arrive by Wednesday, December 20th. She called their customer service multiple times and they said it would be here before Christmas. Never arrived. They would reimburse my sister, and said we could keep the meal when it arrived before New Years. It still hasn’t arrived. Williams Sonoma is an overpriced, pretentious, and highly incompetent company. Pathetic. Please don’t buy from them.

BEWARE OF THE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!
A Christmas ordered was placed on December 17th with a delivery date of December 22nd, the date given by William Sonoma. The billed my credit card for $138 on 12/17.
As of 12/29 the gift is still not processed and I was told the order cannot be cancelled as the order or credit back my money because the order is coming from a vendor.
When asked to speak to a manger I was told I was # 10 in the cue to speak to a manager. I asked to have a return call placed to me so I did not have to hold any longer since it was already a long wait and I was told they do not return calls!!!

Never told me my Christmas order was backordered.

I ordered something for a Christmas gift. It was backordered and they did not send any email telling me this. Only when my family member called and said her husband's gift didn't arrive and I called W-S and it was still backordered. They did not send out any emails letting me know so I could find something else! I will never order from Williams-Sonoma again.

As bad as they get

I don’t know if the items they are selling are just cheap quality or if it is the company itself which doesn’t even check the conditions of the items they are selling, but the tea box we received was in awful conditions, probably it was a return and they probably sent it to us because we had never bought from them before, so for them we were just second or third class customers. I would recommend you not to buy from a company which treats first time costumers as third class customers.

Williams Sonomas customer has gone way…

Williams Sonomas customer has gone way down. I’ve ordered close to $1000 worth of items from them this month alone and after one gift said it would be here way before Christmas I was notified just a few days before that it was backordered and would not be delivered in time. When contacted they said there was nothing they could do about it. So instead I ordered another gift(my mistake buying through them again) bc as this gift would now be delivered Christmas Eve I had paid for it to be gift wrapped and of course it shows up not gift wrapped. When I again contacted customer service they were extremely rude and offered a small discount for my inconvenience but that would be including my payment of gift wrap. So basically they gave me 5% back. And now I’m running out to the store to buy gift wrap on Christmas Eve. Will be buying elsewhere from now on. Disappointed to say the least.
