Garbage company

Garbage company. Youll talk to a nice helpful person when you buy their service. When you call to cancel expect someone who doesnt speak english, months of additional billing, and a DNA sample to verify your account before they pretend to cancel it and you get even more billing.

SCAM

I was recently in the market for a new internet service since the price of phone & internet had doubled with my current service after the promotion ended. I had heard about WOW! through a friend who said they were really popular in my area.

I called WOW! to inquire about phone and internet bundles. I heard a great offer of only $45 monthly for the bundle and also that this was a locked in rate, so it the price will never go up. So I’m thinking great! I’ve found the perfect company for phone and internet services. Sounds good so far right? Well… not so fast, there was a catch.

I was told by the salesperson that since I have an iPhone 12, that I would not be able to have phone services with WOW! because my phone is “too new.” I was told I would need to downgrade my phone to iPhone 10 or lower or switch back to Android because of the electronic SIM cards on newer iPhones. This was a huge red flag 🚩 in itself, and I should have stopped there. I was actually considering downgrading my phone and even switching back to Android to get this great deal with WOW!

Anyway, I never cancelled the current service I have and am still paying for it. I was actually advised by the WOW! salesman not to cancel my current services until WOW! was up and running. So fast forward WOW comes out to do their installation, and cut the wires to my current services with the other company. I had no idea of this or why they would even need to do this, as it is illegal and has nothing to do with their installation. They did this horrible thing without my consent.

I decided not to go with WOW! because I wouldn’t be able to bundle. So I stayed with my current company whom I NEVER cancelled. I had been having issues with my Internet since WOW! tech came out. I had to call my current company for repair services. The tech gets here and tells me that WOW! cut all my wires and a re-installation would be $140. I called WOW! to complain about this and they have done absolutely nothing. They did not care about what they did an left me to clean up the mess by myself. I wouldn’t care if they were the last internet company on this planet. I wouldn’t care if their services were free, I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy. They are horrible and I won’t be back.

I would give this company a zero star…

I would give this company a zero star if I could. I experience service interruptions EVERY day. Most are 15 to 30 minutes. I never get to watch a football game without some interruption. Today service went out during an NCAA basketball playoff game. It was out for hours. I missed the game. Recently a new cable company put lines in my neighborhood. I'm switching. Bottom line: WOW is an inept organization. Avoid them if you have any choice.

Horrible Customer service, not able to speak with a Supervisor.

To start I can say I’m satisfied with the internet value. However, pray you never need Tech service on site (home). If you do be prepared for hidden charges and horrible customer service when trying to correct the issue. Hopefully, it doesn’t take more than two or 3 calls to correct the problems. You will be penalized for every screwup they make. I stopped and overcharge, yes they credit me for the tech visit but charged it back when I stopped the payment and removed me from auto pay for 45 days I could only pay with a Credit Card they wanted to charge me 5 to make a payment over the phone after they screwed up my account and you will never ever be able to speak with a Supervisor. Pray you don’t get Rep. Francisco, he should not be working with the public. Aaron very professional, Rehana I will avoid if I need to call back again.

Overpriced slow service -- COMPANY…

Overpriced slow service -- COMPANY always adds fees! They charge you for technician visits when your service isn't working! Then, they add extra charges here and there AND make up reasons for them. When you call to discuss issues, they pretend they can't hear you and disconnect. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

They are lying left and right

They are lying left and right! We have signed a contract with them in 2012 and when we asked about changing service they said our contract is not up until october 2026 and we would need to pay over $500 if we change providers!! Where are they finding this invisible contract that says we cant leave until October! Please check your statements, because ours show major inconsistencies. Statements show over double the amount for no reason at all. So so many other problems with them.

Empty promise

About 2 years ago, they came in our neighborhood advertising door to door then marked up the streets, sidewalks, and yards then never came back. It’s advertised all around us with flyers and billboards, but still not available in our neighborhood. So why did they hype everyone up and spray paint our streets. That’s dumb!

The worst service ever.

The worst service ever.
Advertised with unlimited data. I reach a data cap and need constant increases every month, doubling my bill. Inconsistent connection. It just stops working whenever it feels like it. Customer service people are friendly, but not very useful. They just have you go through the same troubleshooting motions. If a technician comes out, they say everything is fine. It isn't. I've been using this company for nearly seven years and all I get is the worst experience ever. I would honestly switch to another company if moving wasn't at a high probability.

Spring Hill

Spring Hill, Florida
I've been with Wow for one full year now, since the beginning I've been trying to get them to fix my bill.
When the WOW guy came offering the services, he showed me the options. I took the Fiber 500 for $50.00, price lock for $10.00 plus an extra box for $5.00 a month rental fee! When I add that up it gives me $65.00, no more no less! now with the $10.00 discount for autopay that would leave me a bill of $55.00. I have the new customer sales order form to proof it! I've called customer service a few times to get it resolved, but they tell me I have the $70.00 dollar plan. The $70.00 plan was offering Fiber 1 Gig, and I don't have that service!! Unreal! then they want you to refer clients, offering you $100.00 dollars!! really!! I won't refer anyone period, people don't deserve to be lied to!! We don't deserve to be taken as fools, we should be able to legally do something about it. Customer service not helpful at all, they are well trained by WOW!!! That WOW propaganda should have been a RED FLAG!!
When they say WOW! it's not because they have a great business, it's because they had in mind WOW!! we're gonna fool a lot of people.
GOD have mercy!

They try to rip you off any way they can. They know they can get away with it when they are the only service available in many areas. Customer service is mid at best, WiFi is also mid. Twice they’ve tried to charge me for routers that have been returned. I unfortunately had to have them for many years as I had no other options except Starlink.

Constant Outages and Lack of Speed

Over the course of close to a year I have had WOW and been using their provided modem/router combo (because according to them, my personal systems wouldn’t work with their service), I have had consistent issues. Frequent, daily Wi-Fi drops where it will go out for anywhere from 30 secs to a couple hours, multiple times a day. Terrible customer service that has been 0 help and has told me to just wait until it comes back online.
Even connecting to the router via Ethernet isn’t effective because it constantly cuts out. Not to mention I’m paying for the 1gbs unlimited plan and NEVER hit those speeds. Closest I get is 500mbs.
Unfortunately, my apartment complex signed a deal with them and I’m stuck with them as my only option here in E.L., Michigan.

This internet service provider sucks

This internet service provider sucks. The equipment sucks. The customer service sucks. Everything about them sucks. As I write this, have no service. My router and eero restart constantly about 10 to 15 times per day. We purposely only have 5 devices on the wifi at anytime cause its slow, and constantly restarting the router and eero. Switching tomorrow. This company has costed me 1k in hrs due to remote work. And they truly don't have a clue on how to provide customer service. Update on 1/8/2026. My internet is still out lol. Restarting. Wifi extender and router non stop Restarting. No fix.
