DO NOT USE THIS FIRM

DO NOT USE THIS FIRM

Residential conveyancing team are shocking, they do not respond, overcharge and made significant errors that delayed the whole process. The private client were just as back when preparing a declaration of trust which quite honestly, we could have drafted ourselves in 10 minutes using the same template.

Please avoid and save your time and money. The firm have bad reviews for a reason...

Its in the name - A right hassle...

Honestly and as simply put as I can - the answer is in their name - they are a right hassle...partners with QDR solicitors who are currently refusing to accept any form of communication regarding what they deem unpaid full bill, which was paid 2 weeks before they sent their letter. Wright Hassal are linked and have been singularly unhelpful and keep directing me back to QDR who are just as unhelpful. This is basically part of a scam in my humble opinion where (what a surprise) no one takes responsibility or calls back despite promises to do so from Wright Hassal - I would avoid at all costs and find a proper legal team.

This company is in cahoots with QDR…

This company is in cahoots with QDR SOLICITORS, another named lol
Company as the part of them is QDR and 97% has said how shocking they are and surprise surprise we find this linked to the payment process, another masked company working the tax man wrecking life's changing or running along side numerous company mays names owed by solicitors so they think they are about the law . Some of the policy's and the untrained staff or not enforced but they will
Send an enforcement mob to your home possibly ..??? Worst than starmer .
Like this have already been called out how they treat is and also the guidelines on vulnerable policies they have no thoughts and do not care other than taking peoples money whether that's gonna leave them hanging off a noose or whether that's going to leave them sleeping on the streets They are absolutely scavengers . Not above the law .

Don't use this firm

We used two different solicitors within this firm, for two different things. The solicitors themselves were pleasant enough. However, it is plain that the firm is too big and has too much work on. Consequently the two solicitors were very slow and inefficient. The communication was also very poor. You feel as if they are doing you a favour Instead of being employed by you. The firm does not cover their work when they are away, even when matters are a crucial stage. All round very poor - look elsewhere.

I've had a few calls now from people…

I've had a few calls now from people that have read my review including the latest today from someone who says the firm were incompetent, didn't understand the law and even charged for trainees to attend meetings much as my experience. Perhaps its time for a group action. Might be OK for conveyancing and simple stuff but for anything else avoid in my experience. My original review as follows: -
As part of a group litigation under the Landlord & Tenant act, this firm managed to lose a case that in my view, should have been impossible to lose causing me to lose hundreds of thousands of pounds. The landowners were refusing to renew a number of business leases on the grounds of demolition. The local council had removed the landowners permitted development rights (on my suggestion) as they wanted to retain the existing use of the land. Despite the QC the firm employed stating that there was an 80% plus chance of success and stating the other parties barrister was “full of p*** and wind” he admitted that he simply forgot to argue one of the key points of the trial. The solicitor from Wright Hassall who sat behind with an assistant for a full week doing absolutely nothing, charging a ridiculous amount per hour, was also seemingly oblivious to this and in my opinion did not fully understand the law. I even gave them key points during the trial that the other sides evidence was contradictory. When I complained about this after the trial they immediately dropped me as a client and I was forced to pay the full bill otherwise they would not release my file. However, another of the same group of litigants who also complained and refused to pay the bill, was subsequently let of a huge portion of his bill. The firm have refused to refund me the same proportion. In many years of business, I have yet to hear one person have a good thing to say about this firm. Their name says it all and could only be more appropriate if they were called Wright, Hassell and Lose. At the time of writing they have 83% 1 star reviews on Trustpilot. Says a lot. Make up your own mind, but I wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole!

Terrible company

Terrible company. Do not use this company and go elsewhere. Made basic errors with our house purchase that have had a financial impact on us. The attempted resolution by them is disgraceful too.

AVOID this company!

AVOID this company!
Absolutely awful customer care & service.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Have dealt with 2 different departments within the company aswell as “ Head of private client.”
Response times might as well be non existent, spent most of the time chasing things up.
Charges are ridiculous, have even been charged fees when they’ve had to “re-sort files” as a colleague hadn’t done it properly the first time. How is that chargeable to the client??!!
Paid another solicitor for a second opinion on a document which was then altered and of course we were charged more for that too.
I have nothing positive to say about Wright Hassall, they sure do live up to their name.

Wright Hassell…

We recently contacted Wright Hassell for some advice and support on a planning permission case. We spoke to John Gregory, who responded quickly and efficiently and resolved the situation in a matter of days. Their knowledge, swift action and resolution eased incredible stress and was a huge relief.
We will definitely be using Wright Hassell for any future services required and would strongly recommend them to others.

Still waiting to hear who the CEO of…

Still waiting to hear who the CEO of Wright Hassall is seems their staff do not know who is in charge which is not surprising because it seems no one is in charge of the business asked now 3/4 times for information and still waiting.
What a ridiculous situation never any replies to questions - never any contact. Obviously the staff are well trained not to respond to ex-clients but even when a client we were not responded to. If there had been a star that had a minus I would have clicked on it.

Solicitor working on behalf of housing association actually ridiculed me called me a lier regarding domestic abuse. So I now proved it! I quote “she’s only saying that to delay the eviction” also Said quote “ Let’s face it! If miss ….. was going to kill herself she would’ve done it by now” also quote “ … housing association have spent allot of money on this now let’s just wrap it up” A collaboration of witch hunters gathering misleading information and assumptions. Something seriously wrong with that woman. What a sick thing to say!
These witch hunters will leave a protected family standing on the street stop at nothing to win a case! I can’t express the pain and anxiety this has caused me. How hard I have struggled to fight against thoughts. It makes it so much harder knowing these cold as stone people do not care what they do to you or what happens to you! 4 people and a five year old will be on the street because of the witch hunters three

Tried to get through to the…

Tried to get through to the conveyancing team at 1:45 on a Friday and rang and rang.

For such a large reputable legal firm I’d expect a voicemail or at least office cover if you’re at lunch!

Very poor for a legal firm.

The worst legal practice I have ever used.

Wright Hassall are the worst legal practice I have ever had the misfortune of using. At the 11th hour of a crucial hearing they involved a junior solicitor who, had never worked on a case before, to handle the preparation of an essential witness statement. It was incorrect and the case pivoted on this matter which we subsequently lost. The Judge referred to this matter in his summing-up.

As a firm, they are hugely expensive, provide no or little ongoing dialogue as to how their fees are made up and are being spent, they are slow to react and very complacent.

I would strongly advise anyone considering using Wright Hassall to think again - there are far better firms out there.

wanted to charge for broad quote for std work

I made contact to get an indicative quote to have a standard contract drawn up. I submitted the online form and when they got back to me they said they would provide that if I booked an initial consultation where they would tell me what they would do - The charge for this would have been £100 plus vat.
I then read the glassdoor reviews by employees and decided regardless i would not take my business there.
