Hi Hasan, correct, we had an incident in 2013 where passwords with insufficient hash were leaked.

This put users who reused passwords across services at risk and we are very sorry about that :(

Since then we have improved security in every way and in the 9 years since the incident we have not seen any issues.

I'd like to buy the app but it's lacking fundamentals

Thank you Trustpilot for reminding me. I forgot I wrote this review.

The VCAM problem is solved. It was caused by a conflict from another camera app named chroma cam, which caused the conflict even without the process running. You have to completely uninstall chromacam for vcam to finally open. Chromacam is the only app I know of so far causing this. This conflict is not caused by other camera apps like snapcam, obs, and so on. One problem solved :)

I wrote chromacam team about the issue but they weren't very reflected about it and said this is normal. It's not caused by other camera apps so not normal to me

XSplit is still not running stable. It just crashes or closes now and then. I have a high end system so no lag of recourses. I already had a several month long talk with Xsplit support and they took their time to suggest solutions but I had to find it by myself.

I really would like to use Xplit as my main broadcasting/recording software, but its creators don't seem to go through with solving problems.

What frustrates me:

- VCAM just isn't working. You start the app, the splash screen shows up - that's it. You have to close the app in the task manager from there on! Also, If you accidently choose vcam as a webcam source in XPLIT, XPLIT crashes.
- Xplit crashes alot in general. You change a source or a webcam and you have to close it in manager

It feels the XPLIT team has tons of great ideas, with plugins, but they are thrown into the app without the effort to solve occurring software conflicts

I'd like to buy the app but it's lacking fundamentals like just working properly

WHY IS XSPLIT ONLY RESPONDING TO NEGATIVE REVIEWS?

Anyway, I too had challenges with the free version. After paying my subscription, it has been running okayish. You guys need to improve the video uptake quality. It's difficult to get sharp images, settings are not clearly labeled.

QUESTION? Where is the stop recording button? Where there's a start there has to be a stop too.

I bought the one time lifetime…

I bought the one time lifetime subscription for this product and have never been so disappointed with a product. It didn't matter the amount of light I had or didn't have, it never actually worked. I actually ended up having to purchase an actual green screen so that I didn't have an odd blurry aura around my body.

Just tried XSplit Vcam in guest mode (with watermark) to see if it worked.

After 30 minutes of wasted time, it didn't work.

You're better off with the free option in Zoom.

Terrible for online teaching

I used this app for online teaching and I even have a painted green wall. I had a strange outline of my body and my hand and props would melt and disappear from the screen, especially when my hands moved too fast. I got a complaint from my student that escalated to my employer saying that I need to stop using the app. I went to support on my account and asked for a refund and they told me to send a video of the problem. By then, I had already uninstalled the app, it slowed down my computer so I didn't want it. They kept insisting in the chat that I needed a video but I insisted that I was not about to re-install their ineffective app. I'm not sure if they'll grant a refund but if you are teaching online, I would not recommend this app. Good luck!

XSplit is utter crap and its developers should go back flipping burgers

XSplit is utter crap. It was clearly written by beginner programmers who have very little idea of how an UI should work, so it's a pain to work with it. (Example: when moving an item up or down on a list, there's no option to simply send it to the end or the start. When it's already at the end of the list, the button still takes clicks. I would've been kicked out of class in college if I left such errors in my application.) It's also very slow, it takes a horrible toll on resources. What's even worse, it very often screws up the video and irrepairably throws the audio out of sync. Yeah, that's just what you need when you spent a whole hour recording something!

Sorry to hear you spent an hour working on something and it wasn't intuitive enough for you to be able to get results in that time. In relation to moving sources up and down the list it's actually possible to just drag and drop the sources in the list wherever you want so it should be actually fairly quick and easy to place items at the top or bottom of the list. You can also lock them in place if you want.

Best app for live streaming with webcam…

Best app for live streaming with webcam on but there is a problem I want to record my mobile screen with it but i dont know how to so pls tell me how to do that anyway the app is best my pc cannot record with obs so i tried this this works really well

Predatory Subscription Practices

This company sends no e-mails before they renew a subscription, so if it's something you used a few times and forgot about - good luck figuring out why you're being charged by yet another company (Xsolla!) for a subscription.

If you go to their website it's clear that this is a common issue because their FAQ proudly states "If You do not cancel Your recurring payment subscription before a Renewal Date, You are not entitled to a refund for the recurring payment charged to Your credit/debit card or Paypal account on that Renewal Date. You have the sole responsibility to cancel Your subscription before the Renewal Date if you do not wish to continue Your subscription."

If you go to their website to try and cancel this subscription the login for existing members is difficult to find, and then accessing the area in the members area where a subscription can be canceled is also difficult to find.

This is clearly in the hopes that people will forget and they can bilk them for an extra month. I'd like a refund, but they're proud to treat their customers poorly so I doubt they will give it to me.

- XSolla are our merchant of record which means they sell our licenses on our behalf and that's why you see them on your payment details. We'll look into whether we can make XSplit part of that information to make it easier for people to see what product they are actually paying for.

- Our FAQ's are in place to serve as a way to provide easy to access information for our customers. As you can imagine, we need to provide wording that ensures we can protect the business while being fair to the customer. These terms around our subscriptions are generally industry standard but I apologise if they came across as overly aggressive. We are in fact looking at our refund/cancellation policy including providing pro-rata cancellation so you are effectively only charged up until the period that you cancel.

- We are definitely not trying to just milk people of their money, we're trying to provide a quality product at an affordable price that will allow millions of people to share and communicate with the world through video. While we do plan to make ongoing improvements to the cancellation process we try our best to make it as clear as possible how to do this right now (even if it's not as perfect as we would like) including our support post dedicated to a step by step guide on cancelling your subscription.

Again, I apologise for your negative experience and we definitely take your issues as feedback on how we can do better in many ways.

Dependable Streaming Software

XSplit has been very reliable for both local recording and broadcasting, with enough settings and options that it doesn't need supplementary services to produce nice streams. It also updates regularly.

I've been using xsplit for a few years…

I've been using xsplit for a few years now. It's the most stable for consumer use, and is not as expensive as programs like Wirecast. Tried obs before this as well, and it just doesn't perform as smoothly as xsplit. Worth the subscription/full price for it.

I’ve tried the rest and stuck with the best!

Been using Xsplit for nearly 3 years now and I love it, until recently I've been using an i7 laptop which struggled wth 720p streaming. Just built a desktop with an 8th Gen i5 processor and it handles both 720 & 1080 smoothly with no issues at all.

Great user interface and features, works flawlessly with a Elgato Stream Deck! Xsplit works very well with YouTube, Wowza and Twitch. Only ever had hangs or crashes due to external capture cards being configured incorrectly. I’m using Elgato HD 60 cards now that work well when not installing the Elgato software just plug the cards in with default drivers and they work well.

The only subjective criticism I have is the audio settings can get confusing when using 1 source from a mixer to multiple scenes. If you are not careful you can cause echo by having the ‘listen to’ ticked in sound card properties but with some faffing about you eventually find it, would be nice if these could be configured within the Xsplit settings.

I’ve tried the alternatives, most are far too complex to achieve what should be essentially easy to use, intuitive and functional, Xsplit meets this criteria very well!

Product keeps getting less and less…

Product keeps getting less and less reliable with each release. Memory leaks have become a serious concern, with the application simply shutting off and quitting after 2-3 hours. It used to be very robust. Please offer the versions from 2-3 years ago instead as those were rock solid. Right now I am just glad I did not go with a lifetime subscription.
