Overpriced food and terrible rude staff.
Went to Bluewater. My son took large box with 3 toppings: 3 times caramel chicken. He got about 6 pieces of chicken only. When I asked about it young lad behind a counter started to laugh and said that chicken sunk into rice. Disgusting customer service and less and less food every time. This place should be shut down.
Excellent takeaway experience at…
Excellent takeaway experience at Bluewaters! A lady called Sanobar served us. She was quite friendly, quick, and super efficient, even when it was busy. Everything was well organised, and our order was perfect. Really appreciate the great service—my wife says, she will definitely be back.
Outstanding service
I was hesitant to book with this group because the prices were so much better than booking directly through the cruise line. I wondered if there was a catch.
I had the pleasure of working with Felix Yu. He provided absolutely extraordinary support. He always replies immediately to any question and he provides additional information to make sure that I am completely comfortable with the plan.
Extremely Disappointed and Deeply Upset…
Extremely Disappointed and Deeply Upset by My Experience
I visited the Yangtze branch at Bluewater Shopping Centre on 25 October 2025 around 12:00 pm, and I am still in shock at how my husband and I were treated.
While trying to place our order, a staff member named Viorica behaved very rudely and even called my husband “blind” in our own language, which was deeply offensive and humiliating. My husband remained calm, but we were both left extremely upset.
When I raised this with the team leader, she was understanding and said she had noticed something was not right, but during our conversation, the same staff member started laughing, which made everything even worse.
We left feeling heartbroken, embarrassed, and disrespected.
I have emailed Chopstix Group’s head office on the same day and again followed up, but have received no reply whatsoever.
This was one of the most upsetting experiences I have ever had in any restaurant, and I sincerely hope no other customer will ever be treated this way.
Recent takeout was extremely meh
We ordered a few dishes for takeout. One dish was tasty, but the other two dishes as well as the soup were quite flavorless. We were offered a discount towards another order but we would not order from this restaurant again.

Thank You Mr Felix Hu !
Late in making a reservation for my Yangtze River Cruise. Other online booking sites had no more vacancies left. Then I chance upon CITS site, Mr Felix Hu helped me all the way to get two tickets for a cruise from Chongqing to Yichang. The tickets could not be confirmed before we left Singapore but Mr Hu kept in touch with us until finally we secured the tickets. In between, there was also price difference to be settled but the communication system was efficient and Mr Hu was swift in his responses.
We are grateful to Mr Hu’s assistance in securing the tickets.
However, we almost missed the cruise because of the inadequate taxi service in Chongqing in the evening rush hours. According to the hotel staff the In adequate taxi problem is a daily affair. We had waited in front of the hotel for a full hour but still could not get a taxi and finally the hotel staff help us to get a private car which sent us to the Wharf via a shortcut and managed to catch the Cruise in time !
The room was comfortable and itinerary was good and orderly.
Overall, it was a memorable trip.
It was not so charming as expected
It was not so charming as expected. The beautiful views are in the dam, some 75 meters below the water. The food was OK. The optional excursions were good but overpriced. The day before the disembarkment we did not understand what we have to do.
Summarized: not bad, but overpriced and lack of information what is the program.
Very well organised
Very well organised, comfortable, good food and the optional trips. The whole trip was a memorable one.

Many thanks to my wife and our travel…
Many thanks to my wife and our travel consultant Felix Hu for putting together a great trip on the President No.8 from Chongqing to Yichang April 27-30, 2018. The whole experience was great. Felix set us up with pre and post cruise tours too. If time allows I would recommend the Chongqing city tour and a trip to Dazu Buddhist Stone carvings about 1.5 hours drive from the city. Dinner under the light rail at Flying Tiger Hot Pot was a really good experience. Thanks for making our Yangtze Cruise such a memorable trip.
President No.8 accommodations and staff were very nice, full ship, 400 guests, only 20 westerners but staff and excursion guides spoke English so things went very well.
Thanks again to Felix Hu, he did a great job following up with our special requests and provided multiple options for us to consider.

Wonderful experience traveling upriver
Wonderful experience traveling upriver. The cabin was very spacious and clean; we were encouraged to upgrade when we first got there, which felt like a bit of a scam, but the upgrade was the right thing to do, because we had a much better window in the cabin and balcony. We were 2 of 4 English speakers on the trip, so be aware that the cruise is geared toward the Chinese tourist; we appreciated this experience very much! The food was mostly Chinese, so we learned a lot and got to try things we wouldn't have otherwise. There was always an English speaking guide provided for the tours, which was perfectly adequate. The scenery was beautiful, and the karaoke experience a lot of fun with people from Taiwan and China. The one thing I would change is more help in getting from a taxi to the boat and more understanding about how far that would be. It was a long walk and tough going--the most challenging of our 3 week self-guided travel in China. I heartily recommend this ship and travel company--we had the time of our lives!

We had a great Yangtze river cruise …
We had a great Yangtze river cruise onboard the Victoria Liana. Cabins are very comfortable and the cruise crew were inviting and pleasant. We were lucky enough to get an upgrade in the dining room and the dining experience was very good. The view from the restaurant on the top floor was breathtaking and the food excellent. We are not use to the first class experiences, but it was great. Thanks a bunch to the crew onboard. We were on the upstream cruise from the three gorges dam (Yichang) to Chongqing and especially the trip to the lesser three gorges was a sight not to be forgotten. All info onboard was given in Chinese and English and there was an international guide to handle all non-chinese guests.
Best regards and our sincerest recomendations Tine and Jonathan

Great Value for Money
Great cruise up-stream for 4 Days. Good value with complimentary tours and a choice of other tours at a reasonable cost.
Food was fantastic with great choice. The service and the staff generally was first class with nothing too much trouble. We were a mature party of two with only 8 other Europeans/Americans on-board and we were given priority treatment throughout. Language was certainly not an issue.
Everything from the booking with Felix through to the arranged transport when we disembarked was nothing short of superb, Would go back again tomorrow. Gerry Cawdeary U.K.

Delightful Service Level
Very responsive from the customer service team (Felix Hu and his colleagues). The only improvement I can think of is more cares are to be taken in preparing the travel voucher to make sure the dates are correct. Other than that, I like the service level.

My husband and I went backpacking …
My husband and I went backpacking around China and took a cruise down the Yangtze with this company. The boat was beautiful, the route superb, the food excellent and the tours pretty good. We were English-speaking and always had our own guides. The only thing I didn't like was being told where to go and what to do all the time - we were independent travellers and wanted to go ashore/to the various sites alone but this was not allowed much. We knew the times we had to be ready to leave the boat etc but were stilled called over the tannoy all the time. My husband didn't mind it but I didn't like being told what to do all the time - especially when we were always on time so I didn't see the point of the tannoys! Still the boat, cabin, facilities, restaurant, staff and food were excellent. The route and the views were spectacular. Definitely great :)

With the cruise itself I was very satisfied.
What should be improved is for people to make it easier to get to and from the boat without being taken advantage off.
In 重庆 disembarking was a nightmare, partly due to low river levels and rain and the long distance to buses and taxis.
Another more general comment is that I dislike tipping if it is considered to be expected (like the service fee and tipping request at the end of the cruise. I would like staff and guides to be paid a fair wage or pay for their services and that it is included in the cost of the cruise. Advertising this and substantiating this could be a positive marketing opportunity.

A most enjoyable trip
We found this trip very good. The staterooms were very spacious and comfortable and the staff very helpful. The commentary as we sailed along the river was very good and we enjoyed the tours. The food was nice but much more geared to Chinese style than to Western style and so the selection of Western style dishes was rather limited. I would certainly recommend this trip to my friends.

I book on line the 5* cruise China …
I book on line the 5* cruise China Goddess 2 with the staff of yantze.com . Not desapointed. Asking some questions before booking and have quick answer. Booking and paiement was easy. Receive a confirmation e mail with a voucher and lot of explanations about the cruise. In Chongqing town, people told me which pier i have to go. The boat was clean, new and all the staff helpfull. Lot of them speak little english. We had an excellent cruise river guide named eko. Few foreigners but we were separate from the chineese tourists with a dédicate guide tour speaking a good english and gave us lot of explainations. The cabins were very clean, enough big with a balcony. Traveling alone, i had a chineese roommate in this twin cabin but it was good. Thanks to all of the staff of this cruise. I recommanded it. The price is a good price.

April Three Gorges Cruise from Chongqing to Yichang on President Line.
We embarked at Chongqing.
A warning: One does not know in advance where the boat will be docked. In our case the boat was at one of the farther piers and it was difficult to figure out where to go, since there wasn't much signage in English.
Also: You check in on the boat itself. This information was in the directions sent, but we were stopped on the floating pier entrance because they wanted us to have the cruise identification card to enter, but we had to get to the boat first to get it. We wound up following someone who seemed to be going the right way. This may have been a communication problem on the part of the people doing security for the pier. Even on the ship they wanted us to wait instead of leaving our luggage and going off to explore and find a meal, even though there were several hours available to us. We spent a few hours just waiting when we could have explored Chongqing a bit more.
Another point for those considering this cruise: Your taxi will not take you all the way to your pier. The let you off at the entrance to the docks. We did not hire a porter to help us with our luggage from the docks entrance to the pier. I was traveling with my son who is quite fit and could handle our luggage. If I had been traveling alone I would have wanted help for that distance, and the steps down to the river level. However, I would not have been comfortable negotiating with the porters on my own with my limited Chinese. If the boat had been at one of the closer piers I wouldn't have needed help, so it is worth familiarizing yourself with the layout of the docks, so that when you learn which pier your boat is at you can decide if you need help with your luggage.
Once we were on board the cruise was nice.
Boat: in general they kept the boat clean and it was in reasonable condition, although somewhat worn in places.
Staff: The cruise directors were very helpful and came to the English speaking table to make sure we understood what was going on. Their language skills were very good.
Meals: The buffets for breakfasts and lunches were adequate. I appreciated that the dinners were not buffets. Having sit down dinners was nice after a day of sight seeing. We had a drinks package, without that the coffee is either instant or charged. Also, there is a limited amount of bottled water included with one's room. The drinks package allowed us to get extra bottles (nice to have for those walking tours).
Being eager to see as much as we could of China, we went on all of the shore excursions, those included and the extras. We enjoyed all of them. A word of warning: Some of our fellow travelers found the amount of walking more strenuous than they expected or could handle comfortably. I would highly recommend bringing sturdy, comfortable footwear since all of the outings, except for Shennong Stream, included quite a bit of walking, mostly on hills.
The shore excursions are worth the effort since they let you see some of the temples of the region close up. We particularly enjoyed the White Emperor City. Another favorite experience was on our Shennong Stream excursion; our guide, Cherry, was a member of one of the ethnic tribes from the area, as was one of the boatmen. They extemporaneously started to sing some of the songs from the local area. It felt like we were gliding through a Chinese painting.
Another thing to be aware of: because of annual maintenance, in April the boats do not pass through the five step locks of the Three Gorges dam and cruise through the Xiling Gorge. This was a disappointment.
Instead the boats dock at Maoping and you are bused to Three Gorges Dam for a tour then from there to Yichang. At Maoping, once again we did not use porters, but several of our fellow travelers did, and our bus was delayed from departing because of a mix up about paying them. The porters were arranged ahead of time by the boat personnel and the agreed amount had been paid, as it turned out in the end more than the agreed amount had been paid. Some porters claimed that they had not been paid. There was a good bit of confusion and the President line staff did not advocate for the passengers. This is an area that they should smooth out: when the ship arranges for the porters they need to take the payment and make sure that it gets to the right people. It was sad to have a negative experience at the end of what had been a nice trip.
