Completely ripped me off

Completely ripped me off, made me pay a hidden £100 fee which they never even invoiced me for. Posh man on the phone was exhausting and manipulative and I actually just gave up chasing in the end. Go direct to Arnold Clark!

You placed a booking online for a 1 way journey from Perth to Leeds. This booking included a 1way fee of £100.00 which was clearly stated plus a £100.00 refundable security deposit.

AVOID!

AVOID!

I can see now why they don’t have the option to review on their google listings.

Booked online for same-day booking, as they said they were open. Followed up with a call & left a voicemail.
No answer so drove in to the city to collect. Couldn’t even find the location! After a couple of calls to a number my other half got through to a guy with a serious attitude problem.
When we explained, he claimed the website wouldnt allow us to book as it was on 48hr hold - but then asked if X booking (my name) was our booking. So if he had my booking & knew it wouldn’t be fulfilled, why wouldn’t they show the most basic of courtesy & customer service and call me back to explain this?! Unbelievable!
He then got irate with my partner & we hung up.
Definitely one to avoid & I’ll be taking my business back to my usual options.
Spoke to another business later on & they said they’d had another customer in this morning who’d had the same problem. Yello are inept & abusive on the phone. Not worth the hassle.

Yellohire is just a booking agency i…

Yellohire is just a booking agency i booked a van, upon collection i was told that i was just a normal person and the balance i had to pay was the full rate. Yellohire had taken a £45.20 deposit, and told me the wrong price for the hire. what was originally a £230 was much closer to £270. Avoid this booking agency and go direct to the hire company.

Do Not Use - Cannot deliver chosen vehicle or location

We booked a van and paid the 50% deposit. 2 days later we were told that a van was not available at the location we chose and had to travel 20 miles to collect one. On the day we were contacted by SIXT(who actually hire the vehicles) who told us they did not have the van we wanted and they had no parking for our vehicle. We had to get a lift in and take a van we didn't want as we were moving house that day. If we had known we could not get the van we wanted at the location we wanted we would never have used this company. It is a con - they take your money and then cannot deliver.

DO NOT USE!!!

DO NOT USE!!!! Booked a vehicle paid the fee. Drove 1.5 hours to collect the vehicle to be told there was no vehicle available!!!! The company where the van was located emailed yellohire to tell them it was admin error as soon as the booking went through but yellohire never passed the message on to me! Also struggling to get money back!

Shocking company

Shocking company. I booked a van in my local town as it showed that the vehicle was available and so i reserved it and paid the fee. I received an email saying that if I didn't receive my confirmation within 24hrs, I was to call them straight away. I called them within the 24hrs and the phone was answered with a "hello" !. When I asked why I had not received my confirmation, I was told that the only vehicle available was for collection 45 miles away. I told them that was not suitable. Man on the phone said, I will call you back in 10 mins. I waited till the following day and ended up calling them. Again was told that the only vehicle available was 45 miles away. After I again complained, he said he would call me back. He did call me back, and said he did have a vehicle for me, in my home town. However it was for the day before the day I wanted it. I told him again that it was not suitable. He said he would call back.
Due to collect the vehicle at 4pm today, called them this morning - told me that they would call me back. Still awaiting the call. I did not get the Van.
The worst vehicle hire company ever. Don't waste your time using (or not using) them.

Do not trust their booking...

I booked a van which they should let me know after one day. After one day i haven't get any call, so i called them. They said there is no reservation for me and they can't do anything now. So i said why they haven't inform me..they didn't have any answer. They stop receiving my call. So i had a great trouble to book from another company within short time. I had to pay a lot for that. I don't recommend Yellohire. They do not have any commitment. Do not book from them.

Avoid this company like the plague

Avoid this company like the plague. We booked a van through them for a house move and were advised to collect from Sixt, we received a reservation voucher from Yellohire in the confirmation email, and another confirmation email five days prior to the booking. Got to Sixt the day before the move and they had no booking as it had been cancelled by Yellohire two weeks prior. We had received no email from Yellohire whatsoever to advise us of the cancellation. Called them and they are saying that it's not their responsibility that it's the fault of Sixt for not confirming, and refusing to refund the deposit paid as they are the broker. We had no choice but to book an urgent removal, for three times the cost, for the next morning as we were due to complete on our flat sale the following morning; we had to be out. This is no 'company' it's a con and they should not be trading. They only get one star because I had to give something to give the review.

Use someone else

Told to pick up from the wrong place which was a bad start. Took too much money from me and it after multiple promises that the refund had been sent I still didn’t receive it. Finally after about 20 phone calls and nearly 3 months I have received my refund. Useless company, it might be slightly cheaper but save yourself a load of hassle and use someone else.

Beyond useless..

Beyond useless...
1) booking doesn’t get confirmed after 1 week.
2) multiple calls from myself don’t get returned.
3) unable to tell me when asked if the van requested is available or not?

Just avoid and use someone else

I booked with Yellohire for my house…

I booked with Yellohire for my house move so it was important I had a van on the day and my confirmation details were spot on, however when I went to collect my Van, U-hire had a booking for a week later. Yellohire did nothing to help and did not even return my call when I advised I was stuck with no van. Yellohire just keep blaming U-hire and do not take any responsibility as a broker. leaving a review is my last resort to help others from the risk of been left without a car or van.

Absolutely shocking from start to…

Absolutely shocking from start to finish!
They never got back to me after my original email enquiry. I had to phone the 3 times to get the confirmation! (oh and there number is the only number I've used on my ohone that charges me extra on my bill!)
The deposit they have held onto was massive and I was told they could hold it for 30 days by hertz (who where terrible too)
They never call you back when they say they will.
They run under more than one name.
It wasn't a long wheel base van as I asked for!
Just terrible from start to finish.
I'd hired a van to help my girlfriend move the week before from Arnold Clark and it was chalk and cheese! They were polite, cortious, informative and very professional in a clean and tidy building.
These guys on the other hand have been shocking.
My advice. If you can find a more professional outfit then use them because these guys are rubbish!

Inept and uncaring

My goddaughter was hiring a van to drive to Devon, collect my things that have been in storage for 10 years. She was told she couldn’t leave her car during the hire-period, so had to take 3 buses to travel 21/2 hours. When she arrived, they were closed. They said she could collect the van the next day. When she arrived, it’s a third-party company, Sixt, who knew nothing about it (despite Yellohire saying they’d ring and inform them) and in any case didn’t have a van of any type.
We paid the full amount in advance. I’m devastated.

STAY CLEAR....SHOCKING!!!!

Same here if I could have rated a zero, I would have. Booked a Luton van for the size, arrived at Sixt to collect and they had no Luton available. Customer service is shocking and I am still chasing a refund.

Don’t trust this company!

Paid a deposit on a van. Turned up at Avis only to find that Yello Hire had failed to send the booking voucher, so I had to pay for the booking full price. Yello Hire are refusing to refund me and now I’m £100 out of pocket. Thanks Yello Hire for your terrible and pointless service!

SCAMMERS!

I paid a deposit with them (£100) and then when I arrived at Avis I was told Yellohire failed to send the booking through. Their offices were closed and so I had to pay full price for a van at Avis.

These guys don't own any vans. They just broker other peoples vans.

Customer service is great up until the point they take your money. After that it's 'we will call you back' 'servers are down' 'it's not possible because of covid-19'.

Go directly to companies that own vans for lease and not some middle man like this company.

Creighton Parry (manager/head crook) - I don't know how you sleep at night.

If I could score zero stars I would

If I could score zero stars I would . Utterly disgraceful customer service . Sixt van hire had no record of the booking I made through yellohire and I had to pay the booking twice . Scam and would avoid at all costs .

Don't touch them!

Booked a Luton Van on website from Directvan hire and got yellohire. We paid a deposit and then had no confirmation that the van was still available so I emailed them - no reply! Checked via phone the afternoon before and was told that the computer was down. After a 2nd call was told that the roof had been taken off by the previous customer going under a bridge. Managed to go to Mildenhire who went out of their way to get us a Luton van.

Yellohire charged a commission of £27…

Yellohire charged a commission of £27 as a 'deposit and reservation free' to book my hire through sixt. It turns out this is simply an extortionate reservation fee paid directly to Yellowhire, for which they provide no actual service beyond booking with another rental company. This cost could be completely avoided by simply booking direct. A complete waste of time and money, always book direct.
