Our way of working also compliments local authority models and methods i.e 'Restorative Practice Models' We support young people leaving care who have multiple vulnerabilities and needs defined as ‘complex’ and ‘challenging’. Our work is focussed on developing and building on young people’s strengths, resilience, accountability, ability to self manage risk, proactivity in assessing harm and capacity to form safe and strong relationships. We help young people to understand that these attributes will help them to thrive whilst living in YRH homes and once they leave. Our model also aims to reduce the associated risks to young people leaving care, i.e. social isolation, homelessness, involvement in crime, increased mental health complications, high attrition / low educational attainment, unemployment and poverty.
