Zipato - Terrible company

Terrible company. No communicaton, no support.
If you express to them that you are unhappy with something and ask for improvements they might ban you. I did and got banned!
Only positive with beeing banned is that you then know for sure that you doesn't get any support.
I have Zipabox1 and Zipabox 2 with many additional features such as KNX, RS-485, Backup etc.
In the end I gave up and went with another brand!

Don't trust zipato! Unreliable!

They lack any type of communication with customers. Slow response. No ETA's.
They promise something, but next they do a different thing.
Zipato systems are totally (or near) dependent on the cloud: cloud down = no control of your home.
You can come back to your home, trying to disarm the alarm.. and.. no cloud! trying local connection.. ops, it didn't work! Solution: wakeup the neighbors, phisically disconnect the box, sleep without alarm, and prey to have control back..
Additionally 2 days ago they have turned off their old zipato servers (where old zipabox are linked to) without any advice (they promised a notification, but next... ): as a result all the customers with old system have lost control of their home, during holydays period.
I was a customer since 7 yrs ago (or more I removed!). trust me.

The worst company and device ever

The worst company and device ever. We had a zipato with our new aprment and it never worked, probably it worked for a 1 month and the rest of the time is was off. After 2 years they said that is obsolete and I need to spend £1000 to replace it!!!. Stay away from it !!!!!! SCAM!!!!!!!

We have bought a new propertyth…

We have bought a new property with zipato installed on. When we moved in the zipato was brocken and it took 2 months for someone to come and change it with a new one. After the new zipato was installed we were still having problems with it, in a few months zipato broke again which is under 1 year, we have been using it with all of the problems. When we contacted zipato they have told us that the unit is out of warranty as it has been installed 2 year ago and that I have to pay to replace it, for something I haven't
used even for a full year. ADVISE if you are buying a new property with zipato system installed, just look elsewhere.

The Zipato can do many smart things

The Zipato can do many smart things but I did run into strange things when setting it up for the first time. When writing to support, I got an answer around 1 day after and sometimes 20 minutes - and I did ask for help many times for different things and they did a good job helping me. Most of the issues was because I had a previus version of the Zipatiles - now it works fine.

TERRIBLE Support

TERRIBLE Support.

After my Home Hub Controller was not working properly I've been suggested by them to try a Beta software version which I did. (It did not fix my issue). The after few months they released a new update... not sure if it was because I had the Beta but the update process did not work properly and my controller got offline (not anymore able to control my home alarm and my heating). After lots of tickets and emails they made me reset the controller successfully in a way it was working again. At this point they connected to my controller to try some update and in the process it got blocked again, this time for good! Now i'm for months unable to use it and they are telling me to either go to the shop where i bought it (???) or to send it to them at my expenses and with the possibility to have it not fixed!... totally senseless approach. BUY SOMETHING ELSE.
