Chinese Bikes Have Come A Long Way in Recent Years!
Having had my Kawasaki Z750 stolen I needed something quickly, with a decent warranty to commute daily 82 mile round trip.
Bought a ZT350 T2 19”. £3999 new on the road on offer. Ordered Friday, delivered to dealer Tuesday and on the road Thursday midday.
A few years ago I wouldn’t have touched a Chinese bike. But for this money and spec! Bosch controlled ABS, hand guards, titanium crash bars, electric adjustable screen, TFT screen, Bluetooth…. Etc. a Japanese equivalent would have cost £7999 and a German £9999 for anything close. I have done in 6 weeks just over 1000 miles. Flawless…
Initially while running in this seemed very under powered, but as the bike has loosened up and the EMS has settled this bike is fantastic to ride. After an hour I could do with a little better padding on the seat. And no heated grips! But hey the other spec makes up for this. I damaged the left hand shield. Contacted Zontes UK and ordered the parts that were delivered in 48hrs. Titanium crash bars, stainless steel bolts… these bikes have come a long way in recent years and the new 703 is stunning….
Now my BMW C400GT has been in a workshop for 7 weeks waiting parts from BMW!!!! And tbh this is Korean anyway! The C400GT has 20,000 and just needed variable belt etc and BMW wanted £800 +vat just for the service. All in BMW Would happily of robbed me for £2000!!!
Would I buy a BMW again over a Chinese bike! Probably not.
Looking for a cheap, well built, reliable bike… give it a try… go test one.
