I'm not sure if this company is a scam. I ordered a CO2 detector which has never arrived. The tracking information I received directed me to a shipping company website in Chinese and I had no ability to change to language to English. I have sent e-mails and called customer service numerous time with no response - AVOID AT ALL COST
I bought 10 X-Sense XS01-W connectable smoke alarms and (after testing) installed these in a student home. Within a week, I got reports that these alarms went of in the middle of the night for no apparent reason. A week later, I witnessed this myself: I was in the house on saturday morning and all alarms went off, one after the other with a couple of minutes in between. The trigger each time seemed to be a different alarm. I took all of them home and put them on my desk. Within the day, I had the same experience (luckily not at night). I retested all of them, and found one to be defect (ie it did not react entirely as described in the manual when I tested it). But regardless of that, I think it is unacceptable that any defect would cause this behaviour. I luckily was able to return them, and now bought non-connected alarms again.
We recently bought eight X-Sense XS01-WT smart smoke detectors & three of them have gone offline which should not be a problem.
However, after going offline they have failed to reconnect to the router.
Customer services did respond very quickly with advice on how to reset them & one detector did get back online but the other two won't & they don't respond to the button presses & beeps outlined in the guidance.
UPDATE:The instructions were quite poor & didn't cover what to do if they went offline. Eventually I found, by trial & error, that if they go offline all that's needed to bring them back online is to press the test button for a second. The unit then goes back online & sends a notification to my phone.
I have tried to connect the base station to two seperate routers without success. Also I have tried to enter the information manually but the app requests a QR code or serial number but the base unit is blank with only the model number on.
I have also entered the wifi password but the unit was unable to connect to the router although my phone and tablet were able to do so at approximately 30 cm away from each other.
This equipment is poor quality and not worth the money avoid!
My review was removed
And this is unfair
I really bought a sensor and a remote control
And they are not working
The customer service do not want to refund me
Any way the product is not working together you can not stop the sensor with the remote control and the technical service told me that
TO AVOID
We ordered two smoke and carbon monoxide detectors (built-in) that worked fine for a few months. All of a sudden, the two started going off randomly and would also go off during the early hours of the morning. You can imagine waking up to them both going off at 3am!
I contacted X-Sense directly for advice, as i cannot turn them off without permanently deactivating them. It's been two weeks, and we still haven't heard back from them. It was quite urgent as they kept going off all day and night randomly.
I cannot honestly recommend X-Sense as the customer service is non-existent, and the products, well, what can I say.
My problem is with a smoke alarm which is marketed by a company calling itself ‘X-sense’ the alarm purports to function wirelessly, it does not, I have contacted the company for help but have just been fobbed off each time. I was going to review them on Amazon which is where I bought it but they, or Amazon, are blocking reviews hence the review is here. According to what I get on Amazon X-sense do not exist, no doubt another of the Chinese sellers who disappear when they get enough complaints and Amazon do not help as there is no way to contact them.
Purchased two Smoke Detectors from X-Sense to replace two expired Smoke Dectectors. They both failed in six months. Would no longer pair and when I checked with a smoldering fire, they did not go off. I sensed that they probably never worked as a smoke detector, because there has been smoke from the Kitchen and the Fire Place, and nothing sounded.
The older smoke alarms would have gone off right away. When I contacted X-Sense, they said they should not be checked with REAL SMOKE! WHAT???!! Save your money and time. These things are JUNK! Buy from one of the major makers of smoke detectors.
wowww 1 month later ship from china wowwwwwwwwww.
Order placed on the German website and payed in Euro. Claimed delivery time of couple of days, while in fact it is dispatched after one week from freaking China and I will probably have to wait weeks before delivered. This will add VAT and a handling fee when it is delivered, increasing the price with 40%. Complete rip off as the website clearly has the intention to hide this from the customers.
Ordered X-Sense camera from the German website. They telephoned to say only available with US plug. That was OK for me. It took 25 days to be delivered from China (so the EU web site is rather misleading in that respect and should be more transparent). I was required to pay a customs tariff (in Spain) plus 21% VAT on the tariff. Total of 7.69 Euro so be aware of this additional cost which I assume will vary according to the destination country.
Purchased a carbon monoxide/smoke detector after five months battery is now flat, contacted x sense and despite a commitment stated on their literature to respond I am still waiting.
Thy run a shop de.x-sense.com in German language pretending the goods will be delivered from Germany or at least from Europe and payments will be in Euro. After purchase in Euro payment is swscued fro the credit cad in US-Dollars adding around 10% bank charges. Then they send an E-Mail saying that the are sorry for no goods beeing in their (fake) german warehouse and that goods will be delivered within 4 weeks time directly from China. They do not mention that customs (20% from purchase amount) and import-tax (19% from purchase amount) plus customs service charge of 15€ will be on top when receiving the delivery from China.
At the end the goods will be at least +49% of the prices shown on the webpage. They do not respond to E-Mails. The invoice they send does not comply to any european tax regulations. Recommendation: Do not order on this page. If you think you need their products order at a european store which has an Imprint and contact information and a european tax-registration number (VAT-Number) and who ships from germany and
I bought a "10 year" smoke alarm through Amazon which failed after 18 months. Following Amazon's instructions I contacted X-sense numerous times but they ignored me. I then complained to Amazon which refused to help because they only "fulfilled" the order, Be warned about this company and about anything that Amazon "fulfils" - they will leave you high and dry.
