False delivery date

Needed an aftermarket part to fix my car and these guys said it was in stock when no one else had it available. I bought it immediately after wrapping up the conversation with the rep and they gave me an estimated delivery date. The date rolls around and there is no part. The shop starts asking me when it will arrive as my car is sitting on their lift waiting. I call again 2 days after the delivery date and they say it hasn’t even arrived at their shop from the supplier. This was a surprise to me after they told me they had it in stock. I pay for $200 expedited shipping at this point as the shop will start charging storage fees that cost more than the shipping if it sits any longer. They promise me a swag bag for my troubles and extra expense. The part arrives on the new date they gave me before noon which was nice but no swag was included. 2 stars because covid supply chain issues make it slightly more believable.

Edit to the original post - XLR8 Abusing My Cars Part 2

Edit to the original post: I have now spent $4,000, not including the estimated $1500-2000 of damage done to my door to repair XLR8’s abuse. This is after I paid XLR8 $2800 for a new clutch and flywheel install. After 7 years of being a loyal customer to XLR8 attending most of their cars & coffee events and 2 abused cars later, I can confidently state that I nor any other enthusiast, friend, or family member I know will be using this shop any longer. I have proudly steered away multiple clutch jobs in the last few months after friends saw my post and my car’s physical condition. Firstly my 9th gen Si which I had to get rid of due to XLR8's use of improper parts and causing my car to go into constant limp mode and refusing to own up to their mistakes. Their responds for my Civic SI was to “just sell it” after I spent 1000’s for them to “investigate” the issue with of course no solution although they knew exactly what the issue was because they caused it. My current car was abused to the point where I needed an additional $4,000 in mechanical repair due to XLR8’s complete negligence and will need an additional $1500-2000 to fix my door hurting the value of my car. The repairs included was a new ECU (original was blown up by XLR8) and a new engine harness (original was hacked up and jerry-rigged together by XLR8). A new ECU was promised to me, however, after repairs were done by a real mechanic elsewhere, we found that XLR8 bold-faced lied to me. They never replaced my ECU that they blew up. This was confirmed by my mechanic, my tuner, and Honda themselves. Instead, XLR8 took it upon themselves to cut up my engine harness to bridge wires together to hide my blown ECU from me all while telling me they bought a brand new one. When questioning their General Manager Rob Campbell, he spoke to me like he was speaking to a customer who has not spent 20k+ between myself, family and friends. He firmly stated they would not be repairing the damage they caused and even went as far as getting hostile with me when questioned about my ECU they blew up without replacing. This was because I was deliberately deceived and lied to and beginning to catch on. XLR8 did not change a single thing they destroyed. Instead, XLR8 held on to my car for 1.5 months hiding information for me and rigging together this contraption they call a repair that caused major mechanical issues such as a fully illuminated dash, not starting, and dangerously turning off by itself. In addition to this, my super clean extremely well taken care of car has damage now on my driver’s side door that looks like someone did this intentionally in a parking lot.

My current almost 1700 photo views on google prove just how bad this really is. I was told in a hostile manner that they would not replace anything else although they caused over $5,000 worth of damage while the GM told me my super clean 2015 J35 6-6 "was not a new car." So, this must clearly mean that no one should not bring a classic vehicle here if that is the case. After reaching out to the owner, instead of taking full responsibility for his shop’s abuse and negligence, he thought that offering me the option of coupons to install parts or a $500 credit for over $5000 worth of damage would satisfy me.

Additionally, the owner requested I sign an NDA for this $500 and remove these truthful post. I had to explain to him that an NDA is only used as a bullying tactic, a tactic used to save face when the offering party is caught with their pants down. I refused this offer as this is nothing short of insulting. As you can see, XLR8 has not responded to my original post on Google. An easy indicator of a truthful post is when you don’t see XLR8’s response to major issues. Ignore the 5 Star post about oil changes and air added to tires. This right here is all the confirmation bias you need as a real car enthusiast. This experience was unreal.

Outstanding customer service

Outstanding customer service!
They answered all my questions, were extremely helpful in selecting my exhaust and very knowledgeable. Not to mention patient-I had lots of questions! They even communicated with the manufacturer, had the parts sent directly to me. The entire process was painless, and much faster than I anticipated. I would strongly recommend XLR8 Performance and I will use them again when the time comes to purchase my cold air intake parts.

Old School customer service (a rarity!)

This place has that old school dedication to customer service that you don’t find any longer. I worked with Craig (and I think one other person Bruce?) Both excellent. Craig went above and beyond for me, even unasked.
