Having never booked anything like this before, I got in contact with Xtreme gap year and was put in contact with Shannon. She has been extremely helpful at answering all my questions and helping me get booked on to the Bali Turtle Conservation Program for March next year. I am really excited about my trip!!

Laura was very polite and respond to questions quickly. And she immediately fixed the mistake made on my invoice when it was noticed.

Do not book your vacation here!

I was very excited to go here but when I arrived I didn’t see Xtreme Gap at all. It’s called differently. It’s all waaaay to expensive for what you get and on top of that they made a mistake with my booking.
I’ve been emailing for 2 days and asked for a refund because at this point i’m tired of it.
I didn’t get what I was promised and right now all i’m doing is explaining to people here why I do have the right to have a meal and why I can go with excursions.
Yess you got it.. all i’m doing right now is explaining myself, i’m so done with this and I want my money back. But now they’re pointing fingers towards contracts with other companies as why they can not refund me.

Please don’t think once or twice but a 100 times before you book. It’s not worth it. I’m going through a sh***y vacation and I don’t wish this to anyone else.

Not happy with this company. I was promised a refund. Didn’t get it. They’ve stopped responding to my emails hoping that I would just “go away”. I will be posting my thoughts regularly on social media.

Very fun experience. Even 1 year later I’m still talking to and reminiscing with the friends I made there.

I had an incredible time on my xtreme gap year trip. I chose to do the Xtreme Thailand Experience.
Lara was very helpful all the way through the booking process, and had fantastic answers to every question or worries I had about the trip. I have never gone travelling alone before, and was very worried about meeting the group and making friends.
I was very nervous about it all before I left but once I arrived in Thailand, all those worries were gently pushed aside and I definitely had one of the best experiences in my life.
You are given endless freedom, but also many options for activities that are included in the price of the trip. Personally I think my group was really what made the trip that much more special. Everyone got on so well, and it felt more like a big family, with fun nights out together and unplanned dinners. I have made some lifelong friendships on this trip and would not have asked for a better time in Thailand.
All flights were organised through the company, and easily followed by a new/lone traveller.

Overall, extremely happy with the services of this company, and special thanks to Lara.

So far all of my questions have been answered.. I plan on booking a trip very soon and will update my experience as I go.

Sarah was very helpful in helping me decide which course to go for and answering my many questions! I've yet to depart but so far the service has been excellent - let's hope it continues to be as good when in country! Big thanks to Sarah for all of her previous and continuing help!

Lara Heslenfeld was my first point of contact, she was very helpful and informative. She was able to advise and suggest great options for my personal needs.
Darren from Reservations & Support was also very helpful answering any question small or stupid extremely promptly.
However Rachel Seidel Account Manager for StudentUniverse who i was recommended to book my travel was utterly awful. I suggested what i was doing and looking for in the way of travel as i had already got prior plans. (as a travel company i would expect them to know and be more helpful) Every suggestion or question I had was shut down or a no! There was no help in finding a solution or suggesting ways i could work around my other plans, so i just went and did all the research and bookings myself.
Also another very big disappointment was when i was sent an email sending me a link to a Buddy List where it suggested i could make friends with people on the trip prior to going. I was very keen to do so as I'm not a particularly confident person when it comes to traveling alone. However it sent me to a Facebook group run by Oliver Bray as the Facebook Admin of the Central America group. I tried to request to join the group back in September but still a month later in October i still wasn't accepted and added to the group, I then tried to PM Oliver to explain who i was and accept my request so i could find and communicate with potential people going on the same trip. Still 3months later, no acceptance to the Facebook group i was sent to by Xtreemgapyear. I suggest you find someone to run a Buddy group that accepts and adds people to the groups so that what is a great idea actually works!

Booked two exciting trips to Thailand for 3 weeks!

Sarah has been very helpful giving me details I need to know about the trips, given me motivation to look forward on my first travelling on my own for 3 weeks and meet new people during my 3 weeks trip with Xtreme Gap Year. She's helped organised two different trips to Thailand for me to explore and experience the culture.

Finding information about xtreme gap year and booking my trip could not have been made more simple. Sarah, who I was corresponding with via email really confirmed my decision to go ahead and take the leap to book my trip! She was super friendly, informative and helpful.
