K1 - Green Card / Competent and Kind
I needed to file a K-1 Visa application for my fiancé in the Philippines.
I requested quotes on Yelp.
I do have to say that most of the other firms had a lower fee for the visa filing.
But lowest price does not always equal best value.
Toni’s messages stood out from the rest.
We spoke on the phone and she really made me comfortable.
Not just with her firm, but with the process.
And that takes some doing!
It is complex, requires precision and is mannnny months long.
So, very uncertain and very stressful.
But Toni was checking time frames for each step of the process as we spoke.
Her competence combined with pleasant demeanor really put me at ease.
While the process (waiting for USCIS) is very long, at least I feel that I understand
all the steps and that is comforting.
I hired XLG and have worked with both Toni and Kimberly on the application process.
They were very communicative and helped my fiancé and I to get together all the materials necessary for the process.
It will be another several months until we know how things went.
So, the jury is still out (quick lawyer pun) on how things ultimately go.
But it’s been a good experience so far and I would recommend Xu Law Group.
It is now just about 1.5 years since we filed our application.
Unfortunately, COVID made it take twice as long as it would have otherwise.
But my fiancé is going for her interview in a couple of days and we expect
she will have her visa soon.
After 13 months of silence, USCIS finally processed the initial application.
Since then, there has been quite a bit of interaction.
Many forms to be completed and submitted and a ton of other preparation.
I have to give a should out to Trinity Hsu, Toni's new paralegal.
She is absolutely amazing! She is so fabulously organized.
Explains things thoroughly, replies quickly and completely
and is as nice as she is competent.
She's kept the process moving a long and has kept us comfortable
with the process.
Toni conducted a mock interview to prepare my fiancé for her upcoming
interview with the US consulate. It was really helpful!
It think it will make a big difference in how things go during the real thing.
I am so pleased with the attentiveness and support we
get from XLG.
PART 3
My fiancé is now my wife! :)
And she needed a Green Card.
We hired XLG to handle this process as well.
This was also a 5-star experience!
Sandra was our main contact for this process (although of course Toni Xu
still very involved) and Sandra may have taken service to an even higher level.
E-mails, texts and phone calls - even after hours and on weekends if that is
when there was an update to share.
Toni again conducted a mock interview for the Green Card process
and it really helped. We felt so confident going into the actual USCIS
interview. I think it contributed to getting a positive decision so quickly.
I’m sure that most immigration law firms know how to
process the forms and that sort of thing.
But Toni and her crew at XLG give such a great personal touch.
The quality of service and the compassion for what clients deal with
during interminable waiting periods as inefficient government bureaucracies
take forever to process cases.
Thank you for getting us through this process! :)
