Overpriced, Underdeveloped, and Unreliable: My Disappointing Experience with Yarnit

I subscribed to Yarnit with high expectations, drawn by its promise of a comprehensive AI-driven content creation suite. However, my experience has been marred by persistent billing issues and underwhelming product performance.

Despite canceling my subscription through the in-app portal and receiving confirmation, Yarnit continued to charge my credit card for three additional billing cycles. Customer support's only suggestion was to "refresh the page," which did nothing to resolve the issue. Ultimately, I had to block the merchant at the bank level to stop the unauthorized charges.

The platform itself feels stagnant. The last significant update, Yarnit 2.0, was released in September 2023, and since then, there have been no notable improvements. The "Campaign" feature remains in beta, limiting users to just three concurrent campaigns, which is insufficient for most marketing needs. Additionally, the much-touted "Prompt Library" offers generic templates that any free LLM can generate, adding little value.

Performance issues are also prevalent. The platform frequently experiences blank-screen freezes, slow project loads, and disappearing drafts. The official FAQ still advises users to "refresh" the browser when the interface disappears, indicating unresolved stability problems.

Pricing is another concern. The standard plan starts at USD $69 per user per month with a five-seat minimum, and the business tier begins at USD $159 per user per month, also with a five-seat minimum. These prices are steep, especially considering the platform's limited capabilities and lack of recent updates.

Yarnit advertises a "100% money-back guarantee," yet when I requested a refund, they declined, claiming my payment was for a "new subscription." This stance is questionable, given that I never used any of the platform's features due to the ongoing issues.

In conclusion, Yarnit fails to deliver on its promises. Between the billing problems, outdated features, performance issues, and unresponsive customer support, I cannot recommend this platform. I hope this review serves as a cautionary tale for others considering the Yarnit app for their content creation needs.

Dear Alston,
We want to address a few key areas where there appears to be some confusion, particularly concerning billing, updates, and features.

Billing & Cancellation: User can cancel subscription directly from the billing section on the app. Since it is managed through Stripe, once cancelled, all future payments are stopped immediately. We investigated the logs and found that you cancelled it through the app portal a few days ago only and therefore the subscription fee will not be charged for the next cycle. If there is any doubt, you can show us previous cancellation requests and we will take action immediately, We also acknowledge a previous query on email from last year, where you initiated two subscription using two separate cards and requested refund for one, which was addressed at the time, including processing a refund (honouring the money-back guarantee) as discussed in our email correspondence.

Platform Updates: Yarnit has been consistently evolving and we consistently release monthly/bi-monthly updates since launch. After the Yarnit 2.0 launch in 2023, we did Yarnit 3.0 release in July 2024. Our recent updates this year includes enhanced AI agents, brand guide enhancements, content humanizer, improved text and image models, and AI-powered carousel generation, to name a few. We understand that if you havent used the app recently, these improvements might not be immediately apparent.

Campaign feature: We also want to clarify that the Standard plan permits three “active” campaigns simultaneously. Completing a campaign makes a slot available for a new one. There is no cap on the number of projects you can add to each campaign. The text generation is also unlimited making the quota more than sufficient for small marketing teams.

Performance Issues: For any specific performance issues you encountered, we always encourage users to reach out to our support team so we can investigate and assist promptly. We haven't received any support tickets from you so far detailing the performance issues mentioned, but our team is always ready to help.

If you need any help regarding these matters then we are happy to continue the conversation over email to ensure all your concerns are fully clarified.
We take all customer feedback seriously as it helps us to continually improve.
Sincerely,
The Yarnit Team
