Ikuka has a beautiful setting with impressive views over Ruaha, and the team was consistently warm and welcoming throughout our stay. We appreciated their hospitality and the care they put into every interaction. We had some memorable wildlife moments, including wild dogs, a leopard, and large elephant herds. Guiding was professional, and the staff did their best to make each drive enjoyable. The rooms are fully open to the landscape, creating a very immersive experience. Future guests should consider that this open‑air design also means being more exposed to the natural environment, including animals and insects around the camp. During our visit, tall grass made wildlife viewing more challenging, which is likely seasonal. Overall, Ikuka is a beautiful camp with a dedicated team and a striking location, though some aspects may depend on personal preference and the time of year.

Our stay at Ikuka Safari Camp in Tanzania was absolutely incredible and one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and outstanding hospitality. The setting is breathtaking, with spectacular views that make you feel completely immersed in the beauty of Tanzania. The accommodations were beautiful and comfortable, the food was wonderful, and the level of service was exceptional. What truly stood out to us was the care and attention of the staff. I became ill while on safari, and Ikuka worked seamlessly with Yellow Zebra to make sure the medication I needed was available to me without delay. Knowing that everything was being handled behind the scenes allowed us to focus on enjoying our trip rather than worrying about logistics. That level of care meant so much to us and speaks volumes about their commitment to their guests. The staff throughout our stay were warm, attentive, and genuinely interested in making our experience memorable. Our safari experiences were incredible, and the guides were knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the wildlife and the area. Ikuka offers a wonderful combination of adventure, comfort, beautiful surroundings, and truly personal service. We felt very well cared for throughout our stay and left with memories we will never forget. The elephants drinking out of our plunge pool at night was an absolute highlight. We would return without hesitation and highly recommend Ikuka Safari Camp to anyone planning a safari in Tanzania!
outstanding service and accommodations were perfect!
This was my second stay at Ikuka, so needless to say I love and highly recommend it. I will be returning for a third time later this year and I can not wait. This time, I spent new years at Ikuka - what an amazing start a new year. Ikuka is stunning in all ways. The camp, the decor, the location, the park, the staff.. it’s unbelievably beautiful. When I first visited Ikuka I jokingly mentioned it might have ruined all other camps for me.. but honestly that might be true! The game drives with Geoffrey feed my soul, the amount and quality of sightings is beyond belief. The pillow cases on my bed said “welcome back” which was a much appreciated personal touch. The lovely company by Ikuka staff & co is much appreciated as well, especially for a solo traveller! At the same time, I get to enjoy Ruaha in peace too. I could list so many things here… Absolute perfection, and I think I might be slightly spoiled, thanks to everyone at Ikuka.
This camp was delightful…beautifully maintained and we were well cared for. The staff was lovely and our guide Geoffrey was phenomenal!
Second visit here, again in the green season, what a spectacular beautiful game park it is at this time of year. Festo an amazing guide, camp staff all very welcoming, provided me with gluten free meals as if it were the norm. Thank you Ikuka
Ikuka is heaven on earth, I’d love to go back immediately. The staff is lovely and the whole vibe is very relaxed. Food is absolutely wonderful - please try the shortcake! The rooms and common areas are very stylish - it’s luxurious but in a way that blends in well with the surroundings. Game drives were unbelievable as well, so many close sightings including 5 leopards. This is the perfect camp with the loveliest people - amazing first safari location and I don’t think anything can ever beat this experience!
Absolutely beautiful and amazing camp in a dream location! We enjoyed every minute we spent here. The accommodation was the best we stayed in during our trip, the food delicious and every person we met there enriched our lives by telling us about their country, their families, smiling and laughing with us. Jake was a wonderful host, always around to make sure everything was taken care off. Our guide Geoffrey was outstanding! He found so many animals for us, went out of his way to position the car so we could get the best pictures, was full of knowledge. Ruaha is an outstanding park, not overcrowded, diverse landscape and full of animals of every kind. We have so many beautiful memories of this magical place and we simply can’t wait to return!
Absolutely Perfect with a great guide in Geoffery and wonderful hosts in Jake and Mark. Can't wait to return in the near future. My colleagues at home couldn't believe the pictures of the rooms and dining and bar area. First Class!!
We had an amazing time at ikuka, great service, delicious food (which was almost none stop) and incredible views
Absolutely sublime experience. Evetwas perfect from the accommodation to the hosts to the game drives. An absolute must for anyone considering a special safari trip
Ikuka blew my exceptions out of the water. First off the staff was beyond friendly and they felt like family by the time we left. Once I stepped into their open concept room, over looking the vast african plains, I knew I was in heaven. I've been on many safaris and this is very well run establishment . The owners live on the property and their love for this place shows in every detail of the lodge. For me it always comes down to guiding that makes or breaks my trips and we were all thrilled with our guide Festo. He had one the keenest eyes of any guide i've come across and just his friendly sense of humor made every drive a pure joy. The walking safari was lead by the owner Mark and his wealth of knowledge on things big and small was really impressive. I highly recommend staying here!
Beautiful camp located atop an escarpment with views overlooking a vast area of the park. Accommodations, service, meals, wildlife viewing, were first class.
Super safari lodge on a high ridge over-looking Ruaha. Great infinity pool for cooling down after lunch. Very good staff and nice food including breakfasts & occasional lunches in the bush followed by dinner back at the lodge.
Superb facilities, amazing scenery all around, gourmet food, caring, friendly and very accommodating staff...Tanya, the Manager, is a real gem and Marc, the owner, is not only a top notch, very knowledgeable guide, but also a genuine and considerate gentleman! Last but not least, we had the pleasure of having Festo as our Safari drive guide for four days...a real privilege!
Fabulous Camp with amazing views of the southern Serengeti. The staff were so welcoming , the food delicious and the service equal to a five star resort. They provided lovely breakfasts and sundown evening cocktails at beautiful sites within the park. The pool was grand and the rooms were spacious. Ikuka was the highlight of our 15 day safari.
This a new camp that seems to combine the best of many features of other camps that we visited. The food was top notch and the staff went above and beyond on many occasions. They found my lost mobile phone in the middle of Ruaha, nearly 6 or 7 kilometers from the camp. Mark and Tonya and the entire team were great hosts.
This is a luxury camp with magnificent views of the Aruaha escarpment. The meals are gourmet and have the quality and presentation of a 5-star restaurant. The beds are large than king-size and the shower has on-demand hot water. Game drives are lengthy and the guides are very knowledgeable and seem to know where to find the wildlife. I would recommend a walking safari as it gives you a different perspective than from the land rover.
Ikuka was spectacular and so is Ruaha - super management team at Ikuka. The view from the camp was breathtaking. They take very good care of their customers. Our game driver was nothing short of an expert: incredible how he was able to spot the leopard and the cheetahs. We were able to take great photos. We saw pretty much everything (other than wild dogs).
Just simply stunning. As a safari vet I can say it was the best experience I've had. Brilliant people, brilliant camp and wow - those views! I will go back and I don't say that very often!
