Uganda was, without a doubt, the highlight of the trip for me. The hotel was amazing, the warmth and kindness of the people were unforgettable, and the experiences we had there were truly unique. Every moment felt special and deeply meaningful.

Tanzania was also beautiful, with stunning landscapes and incredible experiences that we enjoyed immensely. We truly had an amazing time throughout the entire journey.

Now that we’re (sadly!) home, we wanted to write and say a heartfelt thank you for the most incredible trip. This was our first time booking with Yellow Zebra, first time on Safari, and from start to finish we have been extremely impressed.

Every arrangement was seamless, from transfers, flights, and meet-and-greets to the spectacular accommodation choices. Both the Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel and Lion Sands Narina Lodge were absolutely perfect for us. We recently returned from a customized trip to Uganda where we visited Murchison Falls National Park, tracked chimpanzees in Kibale National Park, and ended with two gorilla treks in Mgahinga National Park. I can honestly say the whole experience far exceeded our expectations and it all felt like an incredible once in a lifetime adventure. I cannot begin to tell you how pleased we were with Eleanor Roberts who, as a native Ugandan, listened carefully to our "wish list" and knew exactly where to book our itinerary. Everything was fantastic! The accommodations were excellent (Nile Safari Lodge, Kyaninga Lodge, and Gahinga Lodge), the guides from Experience Uganda were extremely knowledgeable and took care of us exceedingly well, the food was terrific, and we were treated like valued VIP clients every step of the way. Overall, we feel our trip was an outstanding value for the money spent. We very strongly recommend Yellow Zebra to anyone considering a trip to Africa.

Yellow Zebra Safari's use of Safari's Specialists who know the region and Parks in some detail, makes the process much easier. Their detailed proposals with videos and photos of recommended options makes choosing the best accommodation simpler. It brings to life the planned holiday.

When we decided on a African Safari vacation we contacted 3 companies for quotes. Joanne with Yellow Zebra was the first to contact us and she truly listened to all our wants and needs as senior travelers. She got back to us in a timely manner with multiple options that were perfect. Another company gave us options that were either out of our specified price range or the wrong month. A second company didn't even get us a quote until days after we had already booked with Joanne! Joanne and the Yellow Zebra staff walked us through all the travel details and helped with travel recommendations. The safari guide (Sabastian) we worked with was amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable about Africa and was really able to focus us on the things my family and I wanted to do. It's a once in a lifetime trip and I feel confident Sabastian understood this and did everything in his ability to ensure a great adventure for us.

We’d been looking at a potential safari for some time and been in touch with the usual big brands for their advice and options, however there was just something that was stopping us from committing as I wasn’t convinced they were building the trip we wanted, more just a standard package off the shelf as a one size fits all. My girlfriend spotted yellow zebra online so we got in touch. Jecca Tyers was absolutely brilliant at reviewing what we already had quoted and sharing invaluable advice based on personal experience and extensive knowledge to ensure we had the best possible experience planned for our trip.

Very helpfully, Jecca took us through a few iterations as we had to be very budget driven whilst trying to get the most for our money. We don’t travel until beginning of October next year, but so far the pre and post sale experience has been first class.

This experience was made easy by the thoroughness and knowledge of the people we worked with. Sebastian listened carefully to what we were interested in doing and was patient as we made our decision over the next couple weeks.

I can safely say that this was my wife Cheryl's favourite holiday ever, and it probably rivals my first time to SA (the experience was definitely more premium this time, but I think the first time will always still be special in its own way), so I think you guys all deserve a pat on the back! We'd definitely be looking to visit Africa again, probably East the next time round. Cheryl was already asking how often we should do "trips like this" on the way back haha.

I think we especially enjoyed how the other lodges updated each other to the best of their abilities as we transferred between them, and even though it wasn't entirely flawless, the effort alone was visible and that combined with what they achieved, made the trip special for us. We breezed through finding the Big 5 in the first safari, we cleared it by the second day, but the rangers did fantastically to keep pushing what we could find so we never got bored even with 8 days straight of safari. We also really enjoyed the boma dinners, and got to meet some lovely people throughout our trip, both who were in our vehicles as well as other guests who just gathered round the fire after dinner to socialise. I believe it was the second safari we were at, where we and a few other guests were amazed at how they never "chased" us away, but rather, every time they came round to us when we were certain they were going to ask if we would like to be brought back to our rooms, they instead continued to top up our alcohol to the brim. It was service beyond expectations for sure.

Laundry service in particular was impeccable too, and was constantly helping us with a revolving door of dusty clothes. They noticed us juggling 3 accommodation spots in our stay, and helped us with washing them even in the middle of the supposed laundry pick-up timings, and we truly appreciated it. The outdoor shower and plunge pool at our Mountain lodge was amazing to use, and we were given a box of biltong to snack on after they noticed how much we liked it during a game drive stop.

I'd continue waxing lyrical but we'd be here all day. Just know that we told all our friends that we know it's a more pricey holiday, but it's worth the money, and we think trading 2-3 regular holidays for one of these would still be worthwhile. Looking forward to our next adventure!
