The customer appears to be always wrong!
Called in to get a new lens cap for my Opticron binoculars as I had bought both pairs there and had been happy with the service. I had a cap with me. The lens caps have fallen off of both pairs of my binoculars and this was the only one I had left. I was told this rarely happens and that I would need to bring in the binoculars in as the lens caps are specific to each model. The lens caps regularly fall off our binoculars! I was told in an offhand manner to look in the window to see if I could see my model. It seemed to me that most models had one of 2 sizes of cap. No offer was made to see if my cap was suitable for any of the ones in the window and that model could be ordered. Also I reported that the straps supplied with the binoculars regularly came loose. I was told this couldn’t possibly happen if fitted correctly. I assured the staff member that it could only to be told I obviously knew more than him despite his years of experience. I left the shop at that point as I had the distinct impression that the customer is always wrong! I will have to see if I can get the replacement caps elsewhere!
Having seen the reply, I rest my case! Have ordered them online.

Thank you for your valued feeback. Having explained numerous times knowing that Opticron will ask for the model number of the binoculars, you sadly didn't accept this, and appeared irritated that you just couldn't get one there and then, as they all appeared to have the same caps. As you will recall we were quite happy to get the correct cap for you, and get it delivered directly to your house, once you let us know the model. But sadly you didn't accept that this is what Opticron would want in order for it to 100% right. So the staff member was always wrong with whatever he said in your eyes too. Then after critising the caps you went on to critises the strap.
We apologise the way this was handled, because it would have been so easy to sort for you once we had the model. We have ordered random caps in the past that just don't fit correctly, so just wanted it to be 100% right.
We would still like to sort the correct caps for you and get them delivered so you aren't inconvenienced any more.

A con of a company
Bought a lens to take out of the UK but they never gave me the VAT form or Details costing me 190 pounds I would never have bought the lens if I knew that I wouldn't be getting the VAT back on it

We hope you are enjoying the lens you purchased, and is doing what you actually bought it for.
We are disappointed to get such a negative review not based on the actual item you bought or your experience in store, as we guess this was all positive, otherwise you wouldn't have made your purchase in the first place.
However if you had mentioned your intentions, and asked us if you could have a tax free form while you were in store purchasing the lens, this may have averted this issue, as this would have been no problem to do for you.
ALL our receipts show our VAT number, therefore are VAT receipts, so you could have added it to an ongoing tax free form you may have been collating while visiting the UK.

Very good service - even offered to deliver personally to my home as I am relatively local although In the end I fetched it from the shop. Lens is brilliant although doesn’t have full functionality with my old camera body. I bought from here as they would be good with returns if I had needed to do so.

Great service. Within an hour of ordering I’d received a phone call to check on personalisation and then shortly after was contacted to arrange delivery to avoid missing the post. Can’t fault and my brother is very pleased with his gift!
