Zap Map is excellent. I always use it before a trip somewhere to identify conviently located chargers and check user feedback on reliability etc. On a recent trip to Carlisle I found there were 7kw ch... See more

Excellent customer service experience
Was provided a promo code by the lease company, which didn’t work, got in touch with zap map direct and they assisted with how to claim the code, when this didn’t work, provided a new code, which worked straight away.
Yet to use the app in earnest, however, customer service so far has been great
Winter motoring EV Range
Winter motoring with an EV means the battery becomes less efficient. ZAP Map puts in an average range for calculating where to charge. I wanted to change this to reflect winter conditions. Emailed Zap map and Ryan told me how to change it. Great service.
Zap Map
This site through the app is excellent. The weekly emails provide fantastic updates on the EV front, increase in public charging points, various surveys and policy changes.
For anyone with an electric vehicle it is a must have app.

The route planner is very useful when planning a long trip. The maps now show the latest new EVPs and is easy to use
Over Charging Loyal Customers
I very rarely write a review, on this occasions I really want to warn other potential customers…
This morning I had notification from Apple that my subscription to Zapmap will expire early next month. At £49.99 I decided not to renew and duly cancelled. I was then offered a Premium subscription (which I had just cancelled) for £29.99. I must say I was somewhat shocked to realise that Zapmap must be making a large amount of money from the rollover subscriptions of loyal customers. This feels like a really bad practice!!!
Don’t bother
I’ve tried plenty of times over the last months to get my public podpoint charger on zap map with no luck !
I dont bother anymore they are a waste of time.

I was advised to use Zap map when i purchased our BMW I3 (3 yrs ago ) and never looked back . We have been all over the UK and always use it to plan both out and return Journey. Not only does it give me the good areas also lets me see were i need to think . takes all the worry and stress from our journey . And it is always looking for ways to improve . Awsome
Clunky and not intuitive
Whilst Zap-Map may be good at locating charge points, its downside is that it misses some very basic functionality. When inputting a longer journey for example, it never takes account of the fact that you will most likely need to charge your car for the return leg! So it will tell you that you have enough charge for your vehicle to get you to your destination 200 miles away, but it should allow you to select a return route too. That way you can decide if you want to charge towards the end of your 1st leg so you can be charged again for your return leg. The other annoyance is when it programs in your charge point but doesn’t show the postcode of the charging station, so you can’t program your satnav to get there! Please look to make some basic changes to the user experience before the competition overtakes you.

Great little app for EV driving and charging - would have been lost without ZapMAp on a trip up north! Showed me all the charge points nearby and available to use and loads of info.
Comparing EV and Petrol vehicles
I was comparing EV and Petrol vehicle economies and if I take one example, they had inflated the Vectra 200PS Petrol from its usual 37-39mpg to 26.5mpg to exaggerate the cost saving a comparable EV will produce! Complete nonsense and nothing correlated with manufacturer or actual figures so don't believe any of the saving predictions!! Go do your own simple maths!
Zap-Map’s Zap-Pay service is unclear, and service is poor
Zap-Map is a useful resource for finding charging points for electric vehicles. I’ve used its payment services just three times, and each time it uses preauthorisation (taking a nominal amount before it is reversed a few days later). I had some issues with the second charge, and undeterred used Zap-Pay a third time recently. I was charged correctly, but a large second payment was taken about an hour later. This remained pending for weeks. I found Zap-Map’s customer service correspondence unreliable. Instead of helping to resolve the issue, it seemed intent on attributing blame to my bank. My bank sorted the issue for me, as it explained what had occurred and was extremely helpful throughout correspondence. While the problem may or may not have been Zap-Map’s doing, the process is clunky, unclear, and subsequent help is less than helpful. I’ve decided not to use the Zap-Pay service because of this.
