While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

To protect platform integrity, every review on our platform—verified or not—is screened by our 24/7 automated software. Zinc is democratising the hiring process, with automated referencing, feedback and background checking tools that put the candidate in control of their data. For employers, a built-in incentive system makes sourcing references simple and straightforward, including gathering in-depth insights on candidate skills and work styles. For employees, Zinc turns the data ownership model on its head, empowering candidates to collect references and other work proofs, such as interview feedback, courses and hackathons, that can be used throughout their career.

Useless and faceless

Update 20/01/2026
Have managed to contact these people by email and given a reference, albeit not via their app, so to be fair, have upgraded the experience from 1 to 3 stars. Still not great. Received a refence request out of the blue from these people for a lovely lady I once employed. Couldn't access the information she had provided, Zinc didn't respond to emails and there is NO contact phone number. She may well lose a job because of this. Not impressed!

Not acceptable once something automated doesn’t work.

Zinc was used for my pre employment checks. They were unable and (subjectively) unwilling to go beyond ‘we sent an email’ and hence didn’t receive one of my references.

I had to manually acquire my own reference and forward to them which I think is firstly unfair to the potential hire and secondly exposes the hiring organisation to risks as my reference was sent to the company from me.

I felt all of the automated part was fine, but once they had to follow up a process that didn’t work it caused delays, frustration and wasn’t well carried out or in a respectful manner.

It was a very stressful process that I believe doesn’t offer hiring companies a suitable service.
