I've installed security cameras and alarms for 20 years. I used Zmodo cameras in a dozen or more jobs and have had little to no trouble. It's my belief there are a bunch of half-wit DIY'ers out there with no idea about how to do simple troubleshooting on networks and, occasionally the power issues associated with any camera that uses only 5 volts for power. Particularly with the 1080P outdoor camera, the amps need to be increased significantly to meet any distance over 20 feet (720P not so much). These cameras have proven themselves time and again with no breakdowns and a cadre of satisfied customers.

AVOID THIS COMPANY!

Junk. The products do not work as advertised.
After several days the product goes offline and becomes
completely useless. I made the mistake of purchasing the camera from a shady eBay account and address which doesn't exist.
A return is impossible. $150 dollars gone!

I purchased a Zmodo Pivot a few years back. At first it worked fine. Then it stopped recording movements. I went back and forth with tech support and was finally sent a replacement unit. That worked somewhat for a while. I have had the unit in the same location for about a year. All of a sudden when I used the app to check it, the app said the unit was offline. I tried resetting the unit by holding the top button for 10 seconds. Now when I try to reinstall it, I get to the wifi page and select ZMD_SAP as instructed, when I go back to the app, I have the same "Tap here to begin setup" page and not the network log in page. I have been trying for at least half an hour now with no success. I consider this unit a piece of crap and would not recommend that anyone waste their money on it. I purchased 2 Tend Secure Camera's and have not had a bit of trouble. They were inexpensive and work like a charm. If I cannot get this Pivot to work, it will end up in the garbage where it belongs.

Can’t watch all the cameras at ones online could only watch one at a time no good my customers are mad at me because I tough we where able to do this with these new systems but I was wrong the old system has better software to remote view on your computer don’t recommend if u want to watch all your cameras at ones remotely I give it a BIG FAT 0. For remote viewing

Never was able to connect a device to this camera. It just will not connect under any circumstances. And customer support is no help. Save your money do not buy this it's totally 100% worthless

I should have read all the reviews before I bought the great HD doorbell. What a nightmare. Horrible display. Never online. Your smartphone has to be connected to Wi-Fi 24/7. Which is impossible. I'm out $150.

I bought 8 camera system but after 10 months, all the IR night vision stop working. So my system is now useless at night time. Customer service in Sydney won't entertain warranty claims! Very low quality products! Do not buy this Zmodo brand! homesecuritysolution seller in Sydney is totally a scammer!

I have had these camera's for 2 years and they are never online, they have the worst connectivity I have ever seen, they work about 1/4 of the time, so they are worthless, I do not recommend them to anyone. I have 4 of them, will probably replace them soon for something that works, waste of money. Very dissappointing product.

Terrible wifi connectivity. Cameras just randomly stop working. Software is slow. Customer support also weak and slow.

The customer support is worthless and these cameras wont stay connected or even connect at all. 2 out of 8 never worked since day 1 and when trying to call to talk to someone the wait time was anywhere from 22-74 hrs! Try to get to support online and there server is always down. My ADT system always works but there cameras are expensive which is why i bought ZCRAPO cameras. I am done messing with this and will be spending the money to add more cameras to my ADT system.

Much the same story as other reviews on here. I had the dvr go bad and I called customer support. I sent them the dvr and they sent me a used unit back that had different issues. I then thought maybe it was a bad camera so I purchased a new camera from them only to find out it would not pair with my system. They insisted it would so I followed all of their directions. The camera is bad, but they will not do anything about it. Stay away!

My house was broken into today. Camera was set to alert me of any activity - didn't notify me at all. Recorded 2 seconds of perp - not the rest. DON'T BUY THIS CAMERA!!!

I have 3 Zmodo cameras in my house, so far I can’t complain at all. First off, I only paid $34.99 per unit and they all connect well to my WiFi and transmits live feed to 4 different devices. I have had some instances where one of the cameras might disconnect from my WiFi but it doesn’t happen frequently. I waited for a year before writing this review. I only use the free cloud service and its been spectacular. For the price I paid, the easy installation and free cloud service, I’m definitely getting far beyond what I initially expected. I was about to drop $360 for only 2 nest 1080p cameras, but I decided to try this, only cost me $105 for 3 sets. I just ordered 2 more.

Never in my life ... worst customer experience in the entire service industry. Pay an extra hundred bucks for a different brand and STAY FAR AWAY from anything these people make!!!

Most horrific experience of my life and they are obviously run by some ancestry of German,China, Russia. I purchased some products from Zmodo Cameras Division and the products were defective in software and hardware. I followed Zmodo RMA protocol and procedures and kept having Language barriers, not able to communicate properly. So after several attempts and calls I escalated it and this supervisor was very judgmental and very aggressive in communicating without letting me give the detailed description and issues I was having. I finally realized that this company was being racist and the employees as well. They refused to allow me to talk or escalate this to anyone else. This supervisor said that there was not anyone above her and that's it. "HUNG UP ON ME". I'm currently locating and have 56 cases of consumers with similar experiences that are going to collectively, vigorously, peruse this to class action.

1 out of 50 "notifications" from the camera are actually someone walking uo my sidewalk, the 1 that is a person doesn't save in time to see who it is. Total junk waste of money

I purchased 2 NVR's from Ebay from seller cctvhotdeals (which is one of Zmodo's Ebay stores names). The listing was for 1080p NVR's. I set both up and later added 1080p cameras to the NVR's. NONE of them would work when trying to view recordings. I then spoke with Zmodo support who confirmed that both NVR's were 720p not 1080p. They would not do anything to correct this even though both sales receipts showed they were sold as 1080p. I spoke with a supervisor who assured me that he would get back with me. That was 2 months ago, and after several attempts I have gotten no response. I own several other Zmodo products and had been satisfied until now. As the company has grown (EPTCO) they seem to care less and less about customer service. BUYERS BEWARE!

Nothing but junk! The service department was no help. Tried to return but got nowhere with the online form. The BBB needs to remove Zmodo from doing business! I will never buy anything from them again!

Won’t stay online in cold weather, been out for 3 days now. The night light attracts moths and spider web over the lens triggering continuous motion detection. Suggest a separate light on a timer. I have other brand cams for indoor which have sound and two way communication which make for better security.
