Japanese Food course

I bought the course as a Christmas gift for two people. We were super excited about the the course from the descriptions on the website and the quality of the marketing. I am a big fan of cooking classes and have attended a lot before this one. I was however very disappointed by the way the course was organised.

Location:
This was a school kitchen and the logistics and availability of equipment was sparse and the general pre preparation for the course by Zoe was quite unorganized. Everything was still packed and some things were bought pre made. We had to rumble around to find things and this made it seem unprofessional.

The Menu:
The menu was not complex or inspiring. This included dishes a basic noodle salad and a pan fried salmon. When one attends a food course and pays for it one would expect to learn something new and get experience in preparing dishes that are a bit more complex. The dishes chosen were dull and unimpressive.

The course teacher:
I am sure Zoe is a great chef and has a lot of experience but the her teaching and interaction skills do need a bit more polishing. The conduct of the course seemed a bit unprofessional in the manner and the way she spoke about the dishes and the general enthusiasm.

Conclusion:

I would not spend 600 plus kroner for a course like this where the whole experience is not satisfying or gives you a felling of being on a professional course. I can watch a cooking show or look up better quality shows on youtube to make simple Japanese recipes.

Thank you the review.

We will make dishes a lot more complex if you think it was too easy.

In the Japanese kitchen all ingredients is always packed. Just before you use it otherwise the ingredients will dry out.
