Don't do it

I was looking for a publisher for my music I write a lot of songs and distribute a lot of it as well for multiple artist profiles. originally I was using Distrokid but I had an incident occur with them and lost everythingin my distrovault. I was also looking into the different revenue streams that artists can gain and wished to get all i could be owed as a artist. Sugo claimed to promote their artists help you get sync licensing and they act as your publisher giving you that extra Revenue stream. I was impressed when in the beginning it was someone from sugo music group called me on the phone well emails me first and then called me on the phone and had a long conversation with me telling me all about all the marvelous things they offer and could do and wanted to get to know me and what I do and see how they could help me.. I believed it. Well I started a label and I created another artist profile where I hired vocalists to cover my music for an award show where I'm a nominee in 4 categories. We created an album I went to Sugo to release this album well two weeks pass I start checking platforms and my music was everywhere but social media platforms the whole album was gone missing artist name didn't exist in any library. I emailed them and asked if there was a problem in the distribution side of things because it never hit social media. They claimed that Instagram tiktok Facebook Twitter had decided to decline my music with no reason. I contacted meta asking them about the situation.... They claimed they never received it. I contacted sugo told them what meta said they claimed meta lied. after being with Sugo for a year I got to wondering about my royalties. Now me personally distributors may offer the option for you to cash out once a month but I never do I do it once a year. With Distro in the beginning one artist profile with only 10 tracks I would cash out on average 30 to $40 a month according to my statistics there again I only cash out once a year. Sugo I decided to check I was ready to cash out I usually do this on the first of the year and i was shocked i owed $8. again that's with four artists profiles. Now I was under the impression that with a publisher I would make more than I would have prior with out one. That was not the case. I asked them about this I got no response at first I decided to email them every day and basically was told to read the exclusive contract I had signed. My impression is that one they're going to try to get your music out there as cheaply as possible even cut some corners like not distribute your album to all social media platforms where we do most of our marketing as artists. Now I asked how to gain a verified artist profile on Spotify for one of my profiles I was told they do not offer that by the grace of God I already had verified artist profiles due to my last distributor it sucks but I contacted Spotify myself and I was able to keep my verification thankfully. For another of my profiles I actually went through the back door and used a different distributor then contacted Spotify and then went to Sugo to load my music which I should not have had to do. As much money they have obviously made off of me and me receiving nothing you would think distribution would go smoothly and hit all platforms as promised you would think your artist profiles would be verified. You would think they would offer or actually follow through with their promise of artist promotions like where is the sync licensing it doesn't exist. And you would think as much money as they make off these artists including me that they would have way better customer service skills and would not lie I mean they called Meta Liars I mean meta the owners of Instagram and Facebook bruhhh. And out of all of that which is pretty bad the worst thing ever that happened with them is since they were acting as my publisher they had access to my library through my Pro BMI music I have literally nearly 200 tracks all together all profiles on BMI my Pro they all vanished except 14 I received no quarterly anything.

We’re sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your music distribution experience. We recognize how challenging the current distribution landscape can be for artists.
Over the past year, digital service providers have significantly tightened their compliance and editorial policies—particularly in areas such as rights validation, copyright enforcement, the use of unlicensed beats and samples—and especially the usage of AI-generated audio. These measures were not initiated by our company but reflect enforcement decisions made by global DSPs.
While DSPs may occasionally misattribute rights ownership, we understand that some artists may choose to explore alternative distribution options as a result.
In reference to sync licensing, Meta distribution, and promotions, we do submit music for sync licensing opportunities, and it’s important to note that this is a highly competitive area, and placements are not guaranteed. Additionally, some platforms—such as Meta’s social media services (e.g., Facebook and Instagram)—maintain editorial control over what music is accepted on their platforms, and may choose not to support certain content at their discretion.
As an artist-centric distributor and publisher, we remain committed to transparency, fairness, and compliance with evolving industry standards. We appreciate your understanding as DSPs continue to implement new requirements for music rights holders
