Do not buy scooters from Pure Electric - read this

Do not under any circumstances buy a Pure Electric Flex scooter. It is not worth it.

The scooter has a crucial clip that holds the scooter together when folded that they do not hold stock of. The only way for it to be replaced is under warranty. However their warranty is only 12 months.

The whole scooter is pretty much made of metal but this clip is made from brittle plastic.

For a warranty claim to be valid you need to send proof of purchase, photos of every angle of the scooter, scooter mileage, proof of purchase and confirm you still have the huge box they send it in.

So even if the clip breaks during the warranty the chances are that they will try to wiggle out of it anyway.

Knowing how they operate I would avoid Pure electric. Paying a premium price for a premium product you expect better service, terms and spare parts.

Overcharge when you cancel membership

If you are thinking of joining Energie Fitness Old St in January 2024 read this review:

I was a member at Energie Fitness Old St but recently switched to Chelmsford Energie Fitness.

When I switched gyms I gave them notice I was cancelling at Old st mid way through the month. Although they state there is a 30 day cancellation period, this starts from the beginning of the following months membership. Therefore if you give notice 1 day after the start of a new months membership it essentially takes two months to cancel.

Aside from this they have also charged me twice in my final month! This does not seem like ethical business practice to charge a customer twice in the month they are leaving.

Therefore if you are signing up in January and you are not sure if you will stick with your New Year’s resolution, it maybe worth considering other gyms that will not make it so hard to cancel (or overcharge you when you do cancel).
