Good efficient service, customer service after quotation can be improved

We moved with OSS in the first half of 2025. The quotation phase was friendly and customer focussed and we lined up the pack and move. The pack was done efficiently and to a decent quality, and our goods moved quickly to destination without damages and the delivery partner was of a better quality than we had experienced with previous moves.

Unfortunately a house purchase fell over before settlement during transit so we couldn’t immediately deliver our goods which presented the problem of requiring intermediate storage at destination before delivery. On this part we feel things could have been handled better by OSS, as it was impossible to amend the insurance to cover a period of storage at destination, and it was left fully with ourselves to solve, again saved by the quality of the delivery partner who was a lot more solution oriented than what we experienced when dealing with OSS.

All in all a good experience, some tweaks in customer service post the quotation phase to deal with unforeseen issues would have made it perfect.

Unrepairable after 2.5 years, shambolic customer service

Our electrolux clothes washing machine broke after 2.5 years. We called out an electrolux technician to investigate, and were told within 1 minute that the bearing had failed and that it was unrepairable. We were shocked that an expensive whitegood was unrepairable after 2.5 years, but were assured that goodwill may be applied for a replacement.

After raising, Electrolux agreed to replace, and that they would raise a store credit with the original store. Unfortunately this is where the wheels fell off, as their idea of raising a store credit was emailing the JBHifi webshop help desk with no response - how do I purchase a washing machine off the back of that? After raising several times that this was insufficient to secure the purchase of a replacement, I asked to escalate to their management and they refused to give contact details.

In summary:
1) Poor quality machinery that is unrepairable after 2.5 years.
2) Poor customer service in fixing the situation, and refusing to allow discussions with management.

Would not buy again.
