Storge room was nice and clean, but…

Storge room was nice and clean. Couple of problems, someone left a ladder in the door while they were putting stuff in their storage while we were there and the next morning when I came back, the ladder was still in the doorway and the gate to facility was still open. The Big problem was the size of the rooms. I initially reserved a 10x25 but when we got there to quickly unload so we could go back for more (severe time constraint), the room was only 7.5x10. Spoke to customer service and they swore it was 10x25. It took calling again and a very nice lady had us checking several rooms marked 10x25 and they weren’t. Finally found a 10x25. Customer Service people I spoke with were all very pleasant. The call center is one of the worst I have ever dealt with. The message would say 14 callers ahead and wait time is 50 min. It got down to 11 callers ahead but time jumped from 33 min to 77 min. I had been on hold for over a hour. It took many calls to actually talk to a person.

This is not a usual occurrence and we are disappointed to hear of the events that took place. We've recently completed renovations for this site which included the build out of Building C storage units. During that time it seems information may have gotten mixed up causing some trouble for a few tenants like yourself. Again - we do sincerely apologize. We have just sent an email to you explaining how we would like to make it right.

Furthermore, our Customer Care team has been working diligently to ensure all calls are answered within our standard timeframe of less than one minute. We greatly appreciate your patience while the minor hiccups were worked out during a time of staff change.

BAD EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND

Third party used to reserve unit. Was told had to sign paperwork in person secure the unit. Received email with appt time to sign paperwork, drove 30+ miles, no agent/office on site, only a kiosk,!! still had to call secure unit, kiosk worthless, on phone with 30+ minutes as i tried online do paperwork. FRUSTRATION! Can’t view the units beforehand, the unit I reserved had cracked weather stripping! water pooling in front of unit with rain, Fence securing back storage area was wooden falling part, not secure!!!! some cameras, overall bad experience ! agent to cancel unit was nice, as was first agent, i owe her an apology, i was not happy! and if you have a problem no one on site to help!! You have to CALL & then get put on hold! CANT RECOMMEND

Do not resolve issues

We have a unit currently rented and have opened and closed the unit several times. Upon returning to retrieve items we found that the lock was no longer opening. It has now been a month, every time I call I am being told there is nothing they can do until someone can get there. The work order has been “completed” in the system but the lock was never removed and the lady on the phone agreed that nothing had changed. Today I was on hold for a supervisor and disconnected, called back and put to a voicemail that I let ring until the phone disconnected. I have been told not to cut the lock because it is there lock. They do not resolve issues and do not have people on site to help with issues.

We apologize that you had issues being able to access your unit. Upon looking into your account it looks like we replaced your lock and sent you the code to open the lock on your unit. Maintenance is onsite once a week and addressed your concern while onsite.
If you continue to have issues opening the lock, are you able to use a lock of your choice.

Never again

Never again! I cancelled the rental, we didn't use it after learning the space size was not what was requested! I requested a refund and Pray that monies have been returned to my account! I have never found a storage facility that requires personal info; after having movers ready to transfer my belongings into what was thought to be a unit of a one car garage it was less than half that size.

You can have this method where no one is onsite and everything is done on line! ...And did I mention your drive-in space is so tight trying to maneuver a moving truck in and out! This company caused me a lot of money. Please reverse my refund immediately!

I was at one time delinquent on my…

I was at one time delinquent on my account, Instead of using the second hole provided in all of the latches provided, my lock was cut off and removed, had to call to get a code to unlock the unit that has my belongings in it and no safeguard against theft in this delicate process that took place, in the moments following the call for a four digit code, I discovered a few expensive items missing, and if your surveillance system is anything at all, you will see that the employees were the only people to have access in the year I've had it!

Thank you for your feedback! After looking into your account it appears that delinquency seems to be a reoccurring theme, with months of no payments in between. It looks like we have had good communication, however there are procedures we must follow as a business. If you feel that your unit has been burglarized, please reach out for information on how to make a claim through the coverage provider.

Today I came by my unit which I don’t…

Today I came by my unit which I don’t do often. The code for gate doesn’t work. The number to call doesn’t recognize my number. The hold time was over a hour and a half. I got in the gate only because someone came out to find my lock gone and a new one in its place. I have never been late with a payment and no one let me know you were changing my lock. So now I’m stuck behind the gate on hold and still can’t get on to my unit. What is going on here??? Oh and still on hold so thanks for that.

We apologies for the inconvenience this may have caused, Tenants were notified 9/16 that an emergency vendor had to access units in which we had to cut locks and replace them. We did, offer those affected a credit on their account. After reviewing your account you should have received your credit by now, not, please reach out to our call center so we can address it.

I was paying 10federal to store my car…

I was paying 10federal to store my car beginning in May 2020 when they took over the Kingsport facility. In Oct 2021, a towing company removed my car; the towing company claims they received an order to do so via a text from a 10federal manager. I wrote this manager directly and she replied with a copy pasted PR template.

Bills at the time were properly paid, withdrawn automatically from my bank. I receive numerous emails from 10federal; my address and phone is written on every bill; I have given them my license plate over the phone. They have adequate access to my information, yet unfortunately I did not receive any warnings beforehand about a problem with my car that would have warranted disposing of it.

Most likely, 10federal was automatically withdrawing money from my account each month for over a year, but not keeping track of what car I was paying to have stored, despite me giving my vehicle information to their call service.

In comparison, the towing company is run by competent people who figured out who the car belonged to and sent me a registered letter immediately. If 10federal were as diligent in keeping track of customers' property and looking up the license plate information that I had provided over the phone, they would have known that the car belonged to a paying customer, and saved me a $650 impound bill.

Not worth the price or frustration!

I got this storage unit because it was a 24-hour access location. Then 2 weeks into me having my unit right after I finish moving everything 100%, the unit emails me and says that they are now changing to no longer having 24-hour access. I would have never gotten the unit in the first place if I would have known this. There's no lights in the units like the other units have previously gotten from other places. And also there's no dumpster for any trash that I have so I have to take trash with me. Not worth the price at all or the frustration.

To increase the security at the facility we have limited the hours to 4:30 am to 10pm.
Unfortunately we do not provide dumpsters as it is the responsibility of the tenant to dispose of their trash/belongings upon moving in and out.
