This is actually 100% just a scam operation. No legitimate gallery or art publication hunts down artists online, requests to post their work and then follows up asking for money. Is scamming artists w... See more

We are passionate about providing these artists with a platform to obtain some exposure for their work, and in view of this, we have developed some exciting features such as our Instagram, Blog, YouTube Channel, and 1340Gallery features, where we showcase these extraordinary pieces of artwork. Through our print editions and online presence we are building a community of artists and connoisseurs from all over the world, and showcasing a diverse collection of styles, influences and processes.

This is a perfect platform to discover new artists. I have been following you guys for a while now. You are doing an excellent job! Its very hard for upcoming artists to get some real exposure. Keep up the good work.

My concern is explained within a reasonable time and flexibility is incorporated in the system of selling artworks.

They say you can get a free feature on their Instagram page but, you are always "preselected" to qualify for one of the final rounds of their jurying process for their magazine. You are then asked to pay $20 to $30 to be considered to be part of the magazine. I have submitted multiple times through multiple email accounts and its always the same case. I have seen 1340art employee accounts on Instagram comment on many recent posts in a matter of minutes inviting artists of any skill level to submit for their "free" Instagram feature (some of the posts they commented on weren't even art related.) Even if the magazine they operate is real; they operate like scammers willing to take advantage of anyone willing to pay.

Was contacted by 1340 Art Magazine via Instagram to submit some of my artwork. So far, they have been very helpful in email contact and seem to be a decent art magazine helping unknown artists to get some audience.

They definitely want your $20-$30. Their website form is labeled Call For Artists asks for your submission for an free instagram feature but it is more than likely not to ever happen. Just watch out and keep your art on the safe side. Real shame honestly this is not for the benefit of artists. Instead use that money and invest in yourself with art supplies and work on fundamentals.

Good experience, thank you to the creators of the page.

1340Art promises a free feature on their Instagram, but then down the line, they do ask for quite a bit of money (20-30 dollars) in order for work to simply be reviewed. The fee for submission is non-refundable, and deducted even if nothing is ever featured anywhere.
I simply can't help but feel that their approach is to send as many invites as possible. This is not supporting artists, this is banking down on the hopes of many for the benefit of the exclusive few.

Fantastic magazine and people! 1340 genuinely cares about artists and using the platform they've created to help with visibility and connecting artists to a broader audience. I highly recommend supporting them!

Thank you for posting my work on your blog!
It's a great feeling that my work has been chosen among many other artists. I felt really good.
I really love my pastels, to draw, to paint...
But in October and November, I had to paint for commission work and could not create what I love the most!
I also hope my blue pastels will be selected for the next magazine.
thanks again x

1340 is ok! Easy, kind, no pay!
It was easy to communicate with the team at 1340 Art.
It's wonderful the opportunity they are proposing at young artists like myself. I do not pay anything for my article. I recommended it

Scam like feel to it. They have all these accounts and they message anyone, flattering them that they'll include their art for a fee. They won't. Google it- others have had similar experiences. Their 'publication' also seems farcical to me. I would understand their limits on posting all art that is submitted- however the issue is that they seek out numerous artists and convince them of something that won't happen. Would be prudent to ask why so many positive reviews here are mostly the only one done by the reviewer...
Would appreciate refund on basis of being misled.
It was easy communicating with the team at 1340 Art and I love the opportunity they are presenting young talents like myself with.

Really great experience! The vast audience your feed has provides vital exposure to those who might not see the works on their own search, it helps gain more followers of the artist page itself. At first I thought adding a sentence about the work or the artist would be a nice addition, but providing the intrigued viewer w just the tag to click on the artist page to see more and learn more is critical to helping the artist build more of an audience of their work independently and organically. Thank you !
