Call-out fee scam
On the website it says no call-out fee as an advantage but it still charged me £55 for call-out! Besides, VAT is top-up from all and they did not mention it at all on call!

Adam arrived promptly, explained the issue and dealt with it once I gave him the go-ahead. Very professional and polite.

Misleading price initially told me £55 to unlock my door and a 15-20 minute wait. After an hour in the cold they arrived and claimed it was £55 purely for the callout and the 1 minute the technician took to slip open my lock with a PIECE OF PLASTIC costed an additional £100.
Paid £155 to slip plastic through my door please do not use I wouldve gone elsewhere after the long wait if I knew of these hidden fees.

I strongly advise others to avoid “24hrslocksmith” based on a very serious and distressing experience at my property.

I booked a locksmith after being clearly quoted a fixed price of £55 for a simple lock opening, with assurances of transparent pricing and no hidden callout charges. I was also told that if additional work was needed, the price would be around £30, and that I would not be charged if I did not agree to the price even if locksmith comes and you don’t agree to the price.

However, when the locksmith arrived, the situation was completely different. He immediately attempted to demand significantly higher amounts, including £149 for a replacement and later £100 just to open the lock, which directly contradicted what I had been told.

Shortly after, a second individual arrived with him in a vehicle. This second person had no tools, no uniform, and no identification. Their behaviour felt coordinated and intimidating, and they began demanding additional “callout charges” that were never mentioned at booking.

The situation escalated into aggressive behaviour, shouting, and what felt like a coordinated attempt by multiple individuals to pressure and intimidate us at our property. During this incident, we were also subjected to extremely racist and abusive language, which was completely unacceptable and deeply distressing.

The individuals then left abruptly.

Based on my experience, the company’s pricing claims are misleading, and their operatives behaved in an aggressive, unprofessional, and intimidating manner. I strongly warn others to avoid this service.

I have reported the matter to the relevant authorities.

This is a scam. After a brief attempt to pick my lock, they claimed my lock was a high-security type (of course it is) and said it needed drilling out, quoting £160 which I thought was a lot but I had no choice so accepted. They did that and asked if I wanted a like for like replacement and I said yes after seeing these were £35 online. They finished the job in a few minutes and produced an invoice for £600, charging £195 for the lock itself and adding various other charges. I refused to pay for the new lock and the additional charges telling them it was a scam. They took the new lock off, so I ended up paying over £250 for him to drill out my lock and leave me with no lock on the door…
